Chapter 25 The Family Reunited
The three took turns driving to ensure the trip went smoothly. When Gu Mozhi and Fu Sinan woke up, they found that Fu's mother had already prepared a sumptuous meal. Seeing them get up, Gu's mother smiled and said, "Eat first, then your father can take over later."
Everyone nodded in agreement, then sat around the table to enjoy the delicious food. After quickly finishing his meal, Gu Mozhi offered to take over driving from his father so that he could come to dinner. Not long after, Fu Sinan also finished eating and went to the passenger seat to keep Gu Mozhi company.
Fu Sinan glanced at the distance displayed on the meeting card and said, "My dad should have started heading this way during the day. Based on the current distance, we should be able to meet up with him in about two hours. However, it might not take that long, as my dad hasn't stopped to rest yet."
After hearing this, Gu Mozhi said worriedly, "Send a message to Dad and tell him to find a place to stop and rest. It's too dangerous for him to drive at night, and his car is less safe than ours."
Fu Sinan immediately nodded in agreement and then chatted privately with his father in the chat channel. He wrote in the message: "Dad, why don't you find a place to park and rest? It's too dangerous for you to drive at night. We'll be there in two hours, and our car has a higher safety rating."
Mr. Fu quickly replied, "Okay, I'll find a place to park and wait for you now. Be careful on the road."
Fu Sinan said he understood and that Gu Mozhi didn't need to worry. He had already spoken to his father and was looking for a place to park and rest. Gu Mozhi nodded in agreement and then focused on driving.
The car moved smoothly through the night, and the only sound inside was the faint engine noise.
About an hour later, a message popped up in Fu Sinan's chat channel. It was from Fu's father. "Son, there are several cars around my car, and I still can't start it."
Fu Sinan's expression changed, and he quickly told Gu Mozhi the news. Gu Mozhi frowned and decisively said, "Don't panic, I'll speed up and try to get there in half an hour. Have Dad wait in a safe place first."
Fu Sinan hurriedly replied to his father, telling him not to rush and to stay in the car. He also gave his father some weapons, saying that if things got too bad, they could abandon the car and run away.
Gu Mozhi floored the accelerator, and the car sped off like an arrow. Finally, after more than twenty minutes, they saw Mr. Fu's car on the roadside in the distance, along with several other cars and a number of people.
Gu Mozhi's eyes sharpened, and he quickly parked the car a short distance away. He and Fu Sinan hurriedly got out and rushed over. Upon seeing them, the men instantly surrounded them, each with a menacing look on their faces.
Mr. Fu struggled to climb out of the car, his body bearing some scrapes and abrasions. Gu Mozhi whispered to Fu Sinan, "Protect your dad." With that, he charged into the crowd, and with a few punches and kicks, several of his attackers fell to the ground.
Fu Sinan, not to be outdone, drew his weapon and fought back. Just as he gained a slight advantage, a man wielding a long knife suddenly emerged from a car. He moved with surprising agility, heading straight for Fu's father. Seeing this, Gu Mozhi rushed forward to confront the knife-wielding man. Fu Sinan, after dealing with those around him, also joined the fight. After a fierce struggle, they finally repelled the group.
Mr. Fu looked at them with relief in his eyes, "Thank goodness you arrived in time."
Gu Mozhi patted Mr. Fu on the shoulder, "He said it's alright. Let's quickly change cars and find a safe place to park and rest." Then, they all got into Gu Mozhi's car.
When Fu's mother saw that Fu's father was injured, she said, "Son, I gave you a gun, how come you are still injured?" Fu's father explained, "I have a gun. They outnumbered me and ambushed me. They almost took my gun."
Gu Mozhi frowned and carefully examined Mr. Fu's wound. "Uncle, this wound needs to be treated quickly to prevent infection." Mrs. Fu also hurriedly retrieved the first-aid kit from the car.
Just as everyone was busy taking care of Mr. Fu, Mr. Gu suddenly shouted, "Oh no! Those people seem to have called for reinforcements, and another car is coming this way!" Everyone's expression changed, and Gu Mozhi made a quick decision, "Drive first, we'll retreat while thinking of a way out." Gu Mozhi drove off at high speed.
The cars behind were hot on their heels. Fu Sinan glanced at them, gritted his teeth, and said, "We can't let them keep chasing us like this. I'll figure out a way to deal with them." With that, he took out some small bombs he had prepared earlier, opened the car window, and threw them at the cars behind him at the right moment. Several cars were disrupted by the bombs, losing a few vehicles, but they still didn't give up the chase.
Gu Mozhi's eyes were firm as he said, "You all drop bombs. There aren't many cars left." His voice was steady and powerful, like a pillar of strength in the tense battle atmosphere. Upon hearing this, Fu Sinan quickly led several people to both sides of the car window, clutching bombs tightly in their hands.
Their movements were practiced and skillful; bombs shot out like meteors, exploding into dazzling yet dangerous sparks on the road ahead. Each explosion was accompanied by the violent shaking of the vehicles and the screams of the enemy. Smoke filled the air, blurring visibility, but Fu Sinan and his men did not flinch.
As bombs continued to be dropped, enemy vehicles were destroyed one after another, bursting into flames. Fewer and fewer vehicles remained; victory seemed within reach. However, the enemy was making a final stand; several bullets flew towards their vehicles. Fu Sinan shouted for cover.
Gu Mozhi shouted, "Hold on, keep attacking!" Fu Sinan gritted his teeth and threw the last bomb, which accurately hit the enemy's lead vehicle. The vehicle instantly went out of control and crashed into the vehicles next to it.
Finally, all the enemy vehicles were destroyed, leaving the road in ruins. Fu Sinan and his men breathed a sigh of relief, their tense expressions gradually relaxing. Gu Mozhi smiled with satisfaction and said, "Well done, we succeeded." Everyone cheered; the fierce battle had ended in their victory.
Gu Mozhi drove to a place to park and rest, saying, "Let's all rest. Check that the RV doors and windows are locked properly, and then rest. You've all had a long day. We can talk about everything tomorrow."
Everyone went back to their rooms to rest. Mr. Fu and Mrs. Fu went back to their bedroom to rest. After they had both washed up, Mrs. Fu asked, "Do you want to rest or do you want to know about the current situation?" Mr. Fu then explained the current situation.
Fu's mother then explained the current situation, especially the fact that her son came out as gay.
After listening, Mr. Fu remained silent for a long time before slowly saying, "I never expected that my son... would like a man." Mrs. Fu gently held his hand, "We can't control our children's feelings, and Gu Mozhi is a good boy, and he's sincere towards Si Nan."
Mr. Fu frowned. "It's fortunate that no one cares in this situation. If it were before, our traditional views were different, and they would face a lot of pressure in the future." Mrs. Fu sighed. "But as long as they are happy, that's all that matters. Besides, Gu Mozhi has helped us a lot along the way. I think he's quite reliable."
Mr. Fu thought for a moment, "Alright, as long as our son is happy. Let's not put too much pressure on him." Mrs. Fu nodded, "Yes, the situation is quite complicated right now. Our family will have to support each other from now on." The two chatted for a while about their upcoming itinerary and how to deal with danger before gradually drifting off to sleep.
The next day, sunlight streamed into the RV, and everyone gradually woke up. Mr. Fu looked at his son and Gu Mozhi, his eyes softening. He walked over and patted them on the shoulders, saying, "Take care, and face the future together." Fu Sinan and Gu Mozhi smiled at each other and nodded. Afterwards, everyone packed up and embarked on a new journey.
