Reunion

Reunion

==============

"Miss Misty."

A clear and gentle voice sounded in the grand and classical hotel lobby.

Wu Jianwei looked up at the sound and panted softly: "Sorry, the flight was cancelled yesterday due to weather conditions, and was delayed for half an hour this morning. I'm late. Has the ceremony started yet?"

"No, there's still time." The hotel manager, dressed in a fitted suit, stood on the stairs, smiling reassuringly as he led her to the bridal dressing room. "Miss Wu, please follow me."

"Okay, thank you." Kirimi Wei carried a bronze curved satin jewelry box in her hand, and stepped steadily and quickly on the endless stairs in stiletto heels. The ivory silk dress fit the undulating curves of her body, perfectly extending her already slender legs.

The hotel manager turned half-side from time to time and used his eyes to confirm whether she had followed. Seeing that she still looked not relaxed, he could not help but smile.

"You've never been married, have you? The bride won't be arriving until 12:08, and there's still more than three hours left, so there's plenty of time."

"I've never experienced the hardship of getting married."

The words that Kirimi blurted out made the hotel manager choke, but she didn't mean it. She immediately spoke to ease the atmosphere: "Your hotel is really beautiful. It must be very expensive to hold a wedding here."

Her compliment was not a compliment. This manor hotel was the most stylish luxury hotel in the area. It was said that all the stones were shipped from France. There were countless banquet halls of various sizes, and each area was strictly separated, making it both grand and private.

So, she didn't meet any guests or see any wedding photos along the way, so it's no wonder she thought the wedding had already started.

"You are beautiful too."

The hotel manager didn't take it personally, but rather thought she had a point. He went on to explain, "The venue fees are higher than other similar hotels, but we rarely host weddings. It's not our core business. If you calculate carefully, we only host ten a year at most. This wedding was booked three years ago, and it took a long time to plan."

"Oh, it seems this customer is very loyal." Wu Jianwei said this, but felt incredible in her heart.

In three years, even the cells in your body are renewed, let alone your marriage partner. It is rare to find someone who is so consistent.

The hotel manager pursed his lips and chuckled, then pressed the button in front of the elevator: "Go up five more floors and walk through the circular corridor and you'll arrive."

Kirimi replied "OK" and walked into the elevator right after the hotel manager. When she turned around, the turquoise bracelet on her wrist swayed slightly with her body.

They were riding in a transparent elevator. As the elevator began to rise, a descending elevator next to it passed by them.

There were two men, one fat and one thin, standing in the elevator. The fatter man widened his eyes and opened his mouth in shock when he caught sight of Wu Jianwei.

Even after stepping out of the elevator, he still had a dazed look on his face. His companions curled their lips and said, "What the hell? You don't need to make such a fuss just because you're visiting a high-end hotel for the first time, right?"

He finally came to his senses and kept shaking his head: "Didn't you see it? Wu Jianwei!"

"How is that possible? Are you blinded by all the coding? She almost bankrupted Mr. Meng, and he hated her so much he wanted to die with her. How could she possibly be here?" The person walking with him patted his shoulder and said, "Stop wandering around. It's time to get back to the wedding."

"Am I seeing things? Can I find another person like her?" The man was still muttering, his eyes could not help but drift upstairs, but he did not see anyone anymore.

Wu Jianwei's feet were sore from walking in the long circular corridor. The hotel was as big as a maze, and for her, who didn't like sports, it was just a walk along the way.

After walking for more than ten minutes, we finally arrived at the bride's dressing room.

"Miss Wu, the guest has told you to go in directly." The hotel manager stopped at the door and said, "I still have to go to the wedding hall to check on the procedures. I'll excuse you first."

Kiri nodded slightly: "Okay, thank you."

After the hotel manager left, Kiriyama took a deep breath, raised his hand and knocked on the door twice.

After waiting for a moment, the room was silent. She wondered, "Could it be that the God of Wealth isn't here?" She tentatively turned the doorknob and gently pushed it open, but didn't go in immediately.

Out of politeness and caution, she slammed her knuckles on the door panel again, making two lonely crisp sounds. Unfortunately, the only answer she got was still the silent air.

Kirimi was slightly stunned, then remembered that the hotel manager said she could go in directly, so she hesitantly took two steps inside, holding the jewelry box tightly in both hands, looking around.

As far as the eye can see, this is an elegantly decorated suite. The beige printed walls make the room look very soft. A large tea-brown velvet sofa is placed by the window. A few fairy-like jade-like magnolia flowers lean against the white porcelain vase, exuding a quiet, subtle and cool fragrance.

Unfortunately, there was no one in such a spacious suite, and the door to the inner room was closed.

Kirimi Wei stood there, took out her cell phone from her bag and sent a WeChat message to the buyer.

Kiri Mimi: "Hello, I'm in the bridal dressing room. Should I wait for you here?"

She didn't have the buyer's phone number, or even his name. The only thing she knew for sure was that he was a mysterious, wealthy buyer who approved the design drafts immediately and paid a 60% deposit very quickly, with the only requirement being that the goods be delivered on the day of the wedding.

Normally, the jewelry the bride was going to wear should have been delivered in advance, but since the buyer asked for it to be delivered today, she didn't think much about it. Perhaps the groom wanted to give the bride a surprise.

Wu Jianwei stared at the dialog box for a while. The buyer usually replied immediately, but this time he didn't.

She felt a vague sense of unease. She had invested nearly all her cash flow in order to close this big deal. Could she have been scammed again? Over the years, the scams had evolved, and so had she. She must not be so easy to fool.

She was worried when she suddenly heard a light sound of a chair being moved coming from the inner room on her left.

"Is anyone there?"

Kirimimi looked in that direction and the sound stopped. She was not sure if she had heard it wrong, so she took a few steps closer. Her extremely thin heels sank into the soft carpet, as if she was stepping into snow, and all the sounds were swallowed up.

She stopped in front of the inner room door, and just as her knuckles were about to touch the door, her phone suddenly vibrated. She glanced at the screen and sighed softly.

It’s not the buyer, it’s Zhou Shuye.

After thinking for a moment, she pressed the answer button first.

On the other end of the phone, Zhou Shuye's voice was lazy: "Mi Wu, are you here?"

Kirimi retreated slightly to the outer hall door, shifted the jewelry box to her left hand, freed her right hand, picked up the phone, and said softly, "Just arrived."

Zhou Shuye felt relieved, got off the bed, and said with a smile: "You left in a hurry this morning and your suitcase fell behind."

"I know, let's put it at your home first."

Kirimi Wei took a red-eye flight and got up sleepily just after midnight. When she checked in her luggage, she realized that she had not brought any luggage at all. The only thing she remembered was that she brought the jewelry box, but fortunately, this was the most important thing.

"If you agree to let me take you to the airport, you won't forget it." Zhou Shuye unbuttoned his robe, put on his shirt, and said in a gentle tone, "I'll take it to you."

"You're not going to the investment summit?" Wu Jianwei leaned against the door frame and glanced down at her WeChat account. The buyer still hadn't replied. She continued, "Don't bother sending a suitcase from Singapore to Qingting by human delivery. I don't need the stuff in it urgently. I'll be back next month anyway."

"I just want to see you." Zhou Shuye pressed his ear to his head and put his phone under his head, saying as he buttoned up his shirt, "To prevent you from meeting someone else."

"Who is it?" Wu Jianwei asked.

Zhou Shuye paused for a moment, then changed his tone when he spoke again: "Mi Wu, you haven't been back to Qingting for a long time. You were just delivering an order. Is it necessary to buy the house you once rented? Are you planning to stay here for a long time? Not leaving? Why?"

"For opportunities." Three years ago, when Wu Jianwei left here, she took nothing with her. Now she comes back with a heart as hard as a rock.

She knew Zhou Shuye had a hidden agenda, so she told him frankly, "Su Zhou's private jewelry business is still immature. This industry relies on resources and reputation. The clients I've accumulated are all in Qingting. Only here can I open a studio. I need to make money and find people. It's that simple."

She has no selfish motives, she just loves money.

"There are more than just these two places in the world. You have other options."

Zhou Shuye paused deliberately before continuing, giving Wu Jianwei time to think. "Stay in Singapore, I'll help you. You focus on your work, and I'll find Fu Li and recover the money you were scammed out of."

Kirimi took a deep breath and said, "There are not only these three places in the world."

"But I'm here." Zhou Shuye stared out the window and asked tentatively, "I'm different from the others, right?"

Wu Jianwei sent another message to the buyer, typing away as she replied to Zhou Shuye: "Of course you're different."

Zhou Shuye laughed out loud: "I haven't seen my uncle and aunt for a long time. When are we going back to Suzhou together? They took good care of me when I was studying for my master's degree in Suzhou."

"Zhou Shuye." Wu Jianwei had just started to speak when a series of small cracking sounds came from the inner room, like the sound of porcelain suddenly breaking. She glanced back and said, "I have something to do. I won't say anymore."

Zhou Shuye's voice was still lingering in her ears, but Wu Jianwei had already hung up the phone and walked towards the room.

"Can I come in?"

She knocked on the door again, but there was still no response from inside the room. She was already feeling a little impatient. Was there anyone there? Why was he acting so mysterious?

She placed her long fingers on the doorknob and continued, "I'm opening the door."

The moment she pushed the door, it opened just a little bit. Before she could take a step, a big hand with distinct joints and bulging veins suddenly grabbed the door.

In the blink of an eye, she was overwhelmed by the feeling of being caught in the wrong place.

"Sorry." Her hand was still holding the door handle and was about to let go.

The man pulled the door inwards violently, and the sudden force caused her body to fall forward, her wavy hair and skirt swaying.

The sound of a lock clicking suddenly came from behind.

Before she could even see who was in the room, she bumped into his chest, and he grabbed her waist tightly and pushed her against the wall.

The hand that had just grabbed the door was now pinching her waist, almost encircling half of her waist with one palm.

...The sound of fear choked in her throat. Wu Jianwei looked up at the person in front of her in disbelief, her eyelashes trembling and her eyes gradually reddening.

He was dressed in a noble black suit, his tall figure wrapped in it, and on his left lapel he wore a bouquet of white lily of the valley boutonniere, looking both silent and dazzling.

"I hope you're well." His tone was very light, in stark contrast to the strength in his hands.

After he finished speaking, he lowered his head and met Kirimimi's gaze.

The two of them were instantly so close that they could hear each other's breathing, and his eyes, as deep as a cold pond, were only a finger's distance away from her.

Wu Jianwei could never have imagined that the place where she would meet Meng Yanxiu again would be at his wedding.

And today.
