When she fell ill

When she fell ill

==================

"What are you breaking?" Wu Jianwei increased the strength of her fingers, causing the earrings and the hem of her skirt to sway slightly.

Meng Yanxiu lowered his eyes, his gaze heavy and heavy, and each word hit her heart: "I don't care what happened between you two, whether he is your boyfriend or your lover. Anyway, tonight, I want to break you up."

"How do we dismantle it?" Wu Jian sneered.

She could almost imagine how furious Meng Yanxiu would be if he discovered one day that Zhou Shuye wasn't really his imagined enemy. But she didn't want to expose this lie now, or else Meng Yanxiu would push his luck even further. And it was all his own fault, the result of his distrust of her.

"Demolish it by force." Meng Yanxiu had an arrogant attitude of "What can you do to me?"

Kirimin slightly moved her toes, suppressing the urge to step on him: "Why do you interfere in my private affairs? Let me remind you, we are not really married. The relationship between you and me is just A, B, C, and D on the street."

"Really? You're a germaphobe. You'll hug St. A's neck and suck on him, and kiss St. B on the mouth?" Meng Yanxiu suddenly approached, his warm breath brushing against her ear. "Now, if you just grab a random stranger and kiss him, I'll pretend you have nothing to do with me."

"You said it," Wu Jianwei said, turning around. However, she didn't bother to pay attention to Meng Yanxiu's shameless request. She was ready to leave, and as she passed by him, she lowered her voice and cursed, "You crazy bastard."

Meng Yanxiu grabbed her wrist as if he had anticipated this: "Are you so cowardly?"

While the two were in a stalemate, Zhou Shuye walked in front of them with champagne and stopped one step away.

"Mi Wu." Zhou Shuye, wearing a well-tailored gray suit and with a gentle demeanor, glanced at their intertwined arms, his voice still gentle, "You look very beautiful today."

Since sending Wu Jianwei home that night, Zhou Shuye has never seen her again.

"Thank you." Wu Jianwei nodded slightly awkwardly. In her peripheral vision, Meng Yanzheng was absentmindedly tapping the table with one hand. She suddenly realized that these two men had met many times over the years, but they had never spoken to each other.

Just when the atmosphere was tense, Meng Yanxiu suddenly loosened his grip, put his arm around her waist and pulled her into his arms, then sternly said to Zhou Shuye, "Please stop staring at other people's wives."

"Can you please speak properly?" Wu Jianwei gripped his wrist tightly, her eyes darting over. She felt really bad that Zhou Shuye had been dragged into this farce for no reason.

Seeing her defending Zhou Shuye in public, Meng Yanxiu's eyes suddenly turned cold: "I said please, what else do you want me to say? Gouge your eyeballs out first?"

"Pick out your brain first! What's wrong with you? I told you to stop going crazy!" Wu Jianwei's eyes flushed and she turned her face away abruptly.

Whispers began to rise around them. Zhou Shuye's pursuit of her had long been a school tale. Seeing Meng Yanxiu's expression of accusation, even Professor Qian looked over with concern.

"Mi Wu, I don't care what others say." Zhou Shuye felt a warm feeling in his heart when he saw her quarreling with Meng Yanxiu because of him. He said solemnly, "If you need a divorce lawyer, I know an excellent senior."

"Keep it for your own use." Meng Yanxiu pressed his palm hard on Wu Jianwei's waist, his ring finger suggestively stroking the silky surface of her skirt. He cut to the point in a cold tone, "Today, either you toast my wife with a glass of wine and wish her a happy wedding, and I'll inject capital into your project. Or you go and explain to your principal why the project has been terminated."

Such humiliation made even the gentle Zhou Shuye clench his fists. "You think money can buy everything? This only proves that you are not the same kind of people at all."

"Zhou Shuye!" Professor Qian hurried forward to smooth things over. "Young man, don't be so angry. Today is a good day..."

Meng Yanxiu interrupted coldly, "Let him talk. It's a good opportunity to clear all those thoughts about other people's wives today."

"Yan Xiu, you misunderstood!" Professor Qian sighed, "Zhou Shuye knows his limits best. Why bring up those old stories?"

Wu Jianwei suppressed her anger and pulled Meng Yanxiu aside a few steps. Elsewhere, Professor Qian also pulled Zhou Shuye aside, skillfully diverting the conversation.

"Don't make things difficult for Zhou Shuye, and there's no need to be so harsh with your words." She lowered her voice, and each word seemed to be squeezed out from between her teeth.

Meng Yanxiu glared at her coldly, with complex emotions surging in his eyes: "Wu Jianwei, sometimes I really hate you."

"Do you think I don't hate you?" Wu Jianwei met his gaze. "I'm tired. I don't want to play the role of your wife anymore. Let's end it here."

"You want to stop? You can't." Meng Yanxiu suddenly pulled her back to his side and took her back.

Professor Qian looked at them, hesitant to speak. Meng Yanxiu said in a deep voice, "Don't worry, I'm calm."

After sending Professor Qian away, Meng Yanxiu turned to Zhou Shuye and said harshly, "She's had enough of you. You should leave on your own."

"What?" Zhou Shuye was confused by his sudden words.

Wu Jianwei couldn't hold it in any longer: "Meng Yanxiu, if you must say it, then say it somewhere else. Don't embarrass yourself here."

"You want me to agree?" Meng Yanxiu suddenly leaned over, leaning close to her ear, and lowered his voice to a very low level, "Then let me stay with you for one night."

"?" Hearing this shameless remark, Wu Jianwei sneered briefly and pulled him two steps to the side. "You're still doing this kind of part-time job now?"

"What? Are you going to spend the night with him tonight?" Meng Yanxiu's eyes grew darker. "Speak."

"Don't force me to slap you here." Wu Jianwei's eyes were red and there was a slight sob in her voice.

"Go ahead and slap me. I'm not threatened." Meng Yanxiu glanced at Zhou Shuye, who was standing frozen in place, then retracted his gaze and stared at her. "Zhou Shuye's flight back to Singapore is tomorrow afternoon. I absolutely won't let you stay with him tonight."

"I can't possibly stay with you either." She was shaking with anger. "You think I'm your appendage? Not only do you want to control me, you even think you can sleep with me whenever you want?"

"No." Meng Yanxiu said in a slightly slower tone, "I just want to confirm where you are."

After a long silence, Wu Jianwei finally compromised. After all, she and Zhou Shuye were just friends. She glared at Meng Yanxiu fiercely and said, "Let's change places now."

Meng Yanxiu's lips curled up into a triumphant smile. He held her hand tightly and walked straight to Zhou Shuye: "Go upstairs and make things clear."

The three of them walked into the second-floor conference room. As soon as the door closed, Wu Jianwei could no longer control her emotions: "Meng Yanxiu, you are not someone who can't distinguish between public and private matters. Don't threaten Zhou Shuye!"

Before she could even finish her words, before she could even see Meng Yanxiu's suddenly stern expression, everything in her sight suddenly began to distort and decompose, eventually turning into a flickering black and white mosaic.

Her legs went limp and her body slid down uncontrollably.

"What's wrong with you?" Meng Yanxiu stepped forward in time, picked her up and gently placed her on the sofa. His fingertips lingered on her cold skin, his expression anxious. "Have you had hypoglycemia again?"

Zhou Shuye also walked over quickly, his voice full of concern: "Mi Wu, what do you need? Water or sugar?"

Meng Yanxiu squatted on one knee beside the sofa, and had already nimbly taken out the candy box he carried with him from his pocket. He peeled open a rose-flavored hard candy and carefully fed it into her lips.

The faint rose flavor melted on the tip of her tongue. Wu Jianwei gasped with difficulty and squeezed out two words: "It's okay."

As soon as she finished speaking, tears rolled down her cheeks unexpectedly.

She knew very well that this was not hypoglycemia, but a huge feeling of impending death that was drowning her like a tide.

This is a somatization reaction caused by anxiety disorder.

Her brows were sunken, her fingers were shaking uncontrollably, all the muscles in her body were twitching, her soul was screaming in her head, and her body felt like it was thrown into a large meat grinder, the world was spinning around, and she was falling weightlessly.

She gradually lost control of her expression, the voices of Meng Yanxiu and Zhou Shuye becoming blurry and distant. She didn't want to hear anything, only to feel her throat being strangled by an invisible hand, her breath being cut off inch by inch, her body repeatedly experiencing suffocation and extinction...

Meng Yanxiu placed the back of his hand against her cold forehead and said in a tense voice, "We must go to the hospital! You look so pale!"

Wu Jianwei's fingertips dug into the sofa tightly, and he squeezed out a weak voice with all his strength: "Get out."

"Impossible." Meng Yanxiu immediately took off his suit jacket and wrapped it around her. "If you say something like that again, I'll force you to go to the hospital right now."

"It's not you..." She frowned even tighter, raised her fingers slightly, and tapped Meng Yanxiu's back with her fingertips.

Meng Yanxiu understood instantly, and immediately leaned over, put his arms around her shoulders, and held her in his arms.

She rested her forehead on his shoulder, her breathing coming in short, hot bursts.

After a moment's pause, she said weakly, "You stay. Zhou Shuye, please leave."

She could feel Meng Yanxiu's shoulders suddenly tense up, and Zhou Shuye's eyes fell on her with complicated expressions.

"Mi Wu, let me stay and take care of you." Zhou Shuye wanted to go forward, but was interrupted by Meng Yanxiu's harsh voice.

"Get out!" Meng Yanxiu's voice was filled with an undeniable sense of oppression. "Can't you see how miserable she is? She told you to get out."

Zhou Shuye looked at Wu Jianwei's persistence, and finally turned and left silently.

After the door closed, Meng Yanxiu's hand gently stroked her back. Just as he was about to look up to check on her, she shook her head to stop him.

"Are you still dizzy? Eat another candy, or we can go to the hospital now." His voice was filled with unconcealable anxiety.

"No..." Kirimi buried her face deeper into his shoulder, not wanting him to see her painful expression, so she could only hug him tightly.

"Awu, we must do another comprehensive examination. Your reaction this time is too serious, don't take it lightly." Meng Yanxiu said as he took out his cell phone.

"I said I'm not going." Kirimi sighed slightly, her voice as soft as a whisper, "Help me unhook my bra."

"What did you say?" Meng Yanxiu paused, then quickly unzipped her skirt from behind, his brows furrowed. "Are you having trouble breathing? Can't catch your breath?"

Kirimi hummed weakly.

Meng Yanxiu swiftly undid her bra buckle, only to notice the muscles in her back and neck throbbing rapidly. He paused for a moment, then carefully wrapped his coat around her back. "How are you now? Are you feeling better? If you feel any discomfort, be sure to tell me."

"Much better." Wu Jianwei nestled in his arms, gradually regaining consciousness, but also began to worry...

Both Dr. Zhou and Jin Zhou repeatedly warned her to seek medical attention if the disease relapsed. But she didn't understand why it was happening again now, when she hadn't had any relapses in six months.

Meng Yanxiu straightened her buttons and zipped up her skirt, then raised his hand and gently brushed away her sweat-soaked hair from her forehead: "You scared me."

"Is there anything in this world that can scare you?" Wu Jianwei leaned back on the sofa, his expression slightly relaxed, "Pour me a glass of water."

"Okay." Meng Yanxiu immediately stood up, quickly scanning the conference room and finding the water dispenser by the door. He carefully tested the water temperature before offering it to her lips.

Wu Jianwei took a few sips from his hand and said, "Pour another cold glass."

"Okay." Meng Yanxiu turned to pour some water, but suddenly stopped. "Do you want honey water instead? I'll have someone bring it up."

Meng Yanxiu turned around without warning. Wu Jianwei had just swallowed the pills when her heart suddenly sank. Her hand, which was about to hide the medicine box, froze in mid-air, and a few pills slipped from her loosened fingers and scattered on the ground.

She hurriedly picked up the pills and threw them into the trash can, her movements suspiciously fast.

"What medicine are you taking?" Meng Yanxiu put down his water cup, walked up to her and held out his hand, "Let me see."

"It's just vitamins." Kirimi Wei had regained her composure and stuffed the medicine box back into her handbag with a natural look. "Nothing fancy."

Meng Yanxiu glanced at the trash can and asked, "Do I have to be so sneaky about taking vitamins?"

She forced herself to remain calm: "You turned around suddenly and scared me, I just didn't hold it firmly."

"Take it out." Meng Yanxiu pressed on, and held out his hand again, "Give me one."

"If you want to eat, go buy it yourself." Wu Jianwei suddenly stood up and walked out of the meeting room quickly. If she stayed any longer, she would not be able to hide it.

Meng Yanxiu stared at the white pills faintly visible in the trash can. After a moment of silence, he picked them up wrapped in a tissue and then called Lin Jue.

"Send it for testing. I want to know what medicine this is."
