Chapter 16 Chapter 16 I bought a smaller size
There was a faint sound of water coming from the bathroom, but it was unclear.
As unclear as her mood.
Yan Jiu lowered her eyelashes as she thought of what Yong Meiru had said to her during the day.
Just when she didn't know how to answer, she heard Chen Yuchu's voice, as calm as jade, "It's time to eat."
Chen Yuchu personally called them to eat, and no one knew how much he heard.
Yan Jiu thought of Yong Meiru's words and immediately released Ping An. Ping An had been following them quietly. Chen Yuchu only glanced at him and said nothing.
During dinner, the three of them spoke very little, with Yong Meiru doing most of the talking. Yan Jiu kept his head down the entire time, unable to see or dare to look at Chen Yuchu.
Yan Jiu couldn't explain it clearly, she only knew that she couldn't answer Yong Meiru's question. To say she was moved was too simple, but she didn't mind their first date.
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped and the sound of the door being pushed open was heard. Yan Jiu suddenly raised his eyes and met the gaze of the man in black satin pajamas in the air.
Chen Yuchu, covered in moisture, stopped at the door. The warm yellow light reflected on his face, as clear and elegant as the first snow, softened his outline. He stood upright with his tall and stiff figure. The snow-white skin exposed on his chest instantly made Yan Jiu look away, not daring to look again.
In a panic, Yan Jiu opened the drawer. When her eyes fell on the things inside, she was so scared that she immediately closed the drawer with a loud noise.
Yan Jiu's expression was a little dazed. Her white fingertips touched the soft quilt and clenched it tightly. The man stood in front of the bed, with a deep sandalwood scent that suddenly filled her nose.
The huge height difference made it impossible for Yan Jiu to avoid it.
She watched as the long finger bones draped over the drawer, slowly opening it to reveal its contents.
The man's black eyes darkened a little, and his slender fingers picked up one of the boxes.
"Is this what the wife is looking for?"
Perhaps because he had taken a shower, his voice was a little hoarse, which made it even more charming.
Yan Jiu was in a state of confusion. She lowered her eyes to avoid Chen Yuchu's gaze. A fireworks show suddenly blossomed on her face. A faint red color spread from the tips of her ears to her cheeks. Her thick eyelashes cast a large shadow on her face. Her perfect and flawless face was radiant. Suddenly, the string in her mind broke.
Chen Yuchu wouldn't think that she wanted to do something with him, right?
Although it's hard not to be suspicious if the drawer is full of this kind of things.
The butterfly earrings on her earlobes swayed, and even her sweet voice trembled slightly, "I just wanted to take that book, but I couldn't find it on the cabinet. I thought it was in the drawer..."
Chen Yuchu leaned down slightly, his gaze shifting from the sparkling earrings to the pink lips. His powerful hand grasped the slender, white, nervous fingers, and in Yan Jiu's doubtful eyes, he pointed her hand in a certain direction.
"Sorry, I took your book to read."
The back of her hand felt as if it had been burned where the skin met.
"It's okay." Yan Jiu took several seconds to finish these three words. She mustered up the courage to speak: "Can you let go of my hand?"
Chen Yuchu's thin lips slowly curled up, and his jade-like finger bones slowly released the warmth from his palm. He straightened his body again, even taking a step back to create some distance. There seemed to be a hint of laughter in his voice as he said, "Let go."
Yan Jiu had just breathed a sigh of relief when he was frightened by the man's next words.
"I bought a size too small."
He spoke very slowly, with Chen Yuchu's usual steady tone, and seemed to linger for a moment before placing emphasis on certain words.
"It's not me..." Yan Jiu blinked his eyelashes and waved his hands helplessly to explain, "Grandma came to our room, maybe she put it there."
"Hmm." Chen Yuchu replied softly, not saying whether he believed it or not. His raven-feather eyelashes drooped, and he stood there lazily, his eyes gazing at Yan Jiu calmly, a hint of meaning in his eyes.
Yan Jiu couldn't explain herself even if she had eight mouths, not to mention she only had one. She wanted to say something but swallowed it back. She decided not to try to hide her true intentions.
There was silence for a long moment. Chen Yuchu didn't speak, nor did Yan Jiu. He stood there calmly, as calm as a mountain of snow, as if nothing had happened. In her mind, a conflict was brewing between her inner thoughts and her own. Her porcelain-white, transparent face shone with a breathtaking beauty, yet seemed so pure.
finally--
Yan Jiu raised his delicate face and said calmly, "I'm going to take a shower."
Chen Yuchu said nothing, but simply stepped back, giving Yan Jiu enough space to pass. But the distance was tight, and the scent of sandalwood deepened as Yan Jiu passed by, carrying with it the dampness of freshly bathed water. It seemed to rush straight from her nose into her heart, causing a throbbing sensation.
He stands here like a towering mountain reaching into the clouds.
And she is like the clouds floating in the sky, gathering and dispersing and then coming together again.
Yan Jiu didn't dare to stay any longer and ran to the bathroom in small steps.
The scent of sandalwood still lingered in the bathroom, even deeper and heavier than before, making people's hearts fall straight down. Yan Jiu took off her butterfly earrings, which swayed in the air and formed a beautiful arc. She pursed her lips, her thoughts wandering, and decided to go to the guest bedroom to take a shower next time.
The warm water brushed over his fair skin, and Yan Jiu sighed in comfort. His delicate eyebrows relaxed, a layer of water vapor covering his almond-shaped pupils, making them as hazy and beautiful as mist. His moist eyelashes lifted upwards, and when he saw the men's toiletries on display, the curve of his lips froze in mid-air.
Many images flashed through my mind.
As Yan Jiu's slender, lustrous fingers twisted the clear jasmine-scented foam, she thought of the tear stains on the dark blue handkerchief Chen Yuchu had handed her in the cinema. She thought of her and Chen Yuchu's figures in the mirror, seemingly cuddling and overlapping. She also thought of Yong Meiru asking her if she had any feelings for Chen Yuchu...
Yan Jiu's expression was very calm. The warm yellow light made her skin look as white as snow, clean and clear, but her brain was in a mess, like a storm.
She lingered in the bathroom for a long time before standing up. Her jade-like toes tapped the ground lightly, stepping on the soft hand-woven carpet. The clean and comfortable bath towel brushed against her porcelain-like body. Yan Jiu raised her head and looked at the bathroom mirror.
Her beautiful and bright face was reflected in the light.
Yan Jiu lowered her eyelashes and dared not look again. The exquisite pink satin pajamas fit her curves. She gently pushed open the bathroom door.
In the spacious master bedroom, Chen Yuchu was leaning lazily against the back of the bed, holding a book in his hand. After hearing the noise, he raised his handsome features and stared at Yan Jiu's face for a few seconds, taking in her beautiful cheeks and exquisite figure under the satin.
Chen Yuchu calmly withdrew his gaze and returned his attention to the words on the page.
But I can’t make out any of the words on it.
After Chen Yuchu continued reading, Yan Jiu walked to the bedside, pulled up the sky-blue quilt, and carefully crawled in, holding her breath. The ends of her curled eyelashes trembled slightly, and suddenly a book appeared in her sight. It was the book "Normal People" she had just found.
It lay quietly beside her bed.
The faint scent of sandalwood from the man beside him drifted over, its presence felt very strong. Yan Jiu's fingers grasped the soft sky-blue quilt, pondered for a moment, and then picked up the book beside the bed.
Yan Jiu originally read to page 50, where the bookmark was still used. Looking back, he could see traces of pages being turned, so Chen Yuchu must have finished reading the book.
He reads very fast.
The unique scent of ink on the pages of the book calmed Yan Jiu's restless mood. She deliberately ignored the presence of the man beside her and read the book seriously.
For a moment, the spacious bedroom was very quiet, with only the soft sound of two people turning pages from time to time.
Yan Jiu's reading speed was not too slow. Yu Guangzhong and Chen Yuchu could read ten lines at a glance. He had finished reading the book and closed it, which he gently placed on the bedside.
Seeing this, Yan Jiu put the bookmark on the latest page and placed it on the bedside on her side.
After a few seconds, she pinched the quilt and slowly opened her mouth: "Do you want to sleep?"
He stared at her with calm eyes and said word by word: "Sleep."
Chen Yuchu pressed the button with his slender fingertips, and the curtains beside the bed slowly closed to the middle, blocking out the starry night. All the lights in the bedroom went out at once.
The scene in front of him instantly fell into darkness. Yan Jiu pursed his lips and slowly tucked his entire body except his head into the quilt to reduce his presence.
This was her first time sleeping in the same bed with a man, and they had just gone on a date today. Although she knew this day would come when she got the marriage certificate, her heart still started pounding.
With the scent of another person beside him, Yan Jiu couldn't fall asleep for a while.
She looked up at the ceiling and counted the lambs carefully.
“123...99...100...”
Yan Jiu still couldn't fall asleep. She turned over, facing away from Chen Yuchu, and exhaled lightly, as if this could isolate them from each other's breath.
In the extremely quiet space, a hoarse voice came to her ear, "Madam, have we forgotten what we haven't done yet?"
"What?"
Yan Jiu spoke subconsciously, and as soon as the soft voice appeared, she regretted it. She blamed herself for responding too quickly. She should have pretended to be asleep and not heard.
Chen Yuchu didn't answer her, but gave Yan Jiu the answer with his actions. His strong arms twisted around her shoulders, and the scorching heat penetrated her soft clothes without reservation, burning her skin so much that it made her tremble.
"Didn't you say...that one was too small?"
Yan Jiu didn't dare to open his eyes, and there was a hint of nervousness in his voice.
"Which one?" Chen Yuchu's voice was still as calm as usual, and he asked back as if he didn't understand.
The distinct scent of sandalwood invaded him, accompanied by the warmth of his lips and tongue, overbearing and scorching. Chen Yuchu's scorching palm pressed against her frail neck, as slender as a white swan. Her lips were soft and fragrant with jasmine. He no longer rushed forward like he had the first time, but instead slowly savored the sweetness of her lips, like a dessert.
The fiery temperature slowly moved down, burning all the way to her waist, and beautiful spring flowers bloomed in his palm.
Yan Jiu's head felt dizzy, and she didn't care where his hand was. The tip of her tongue felt tingling, and she was like a fish on the shore, desperately longing for air.
Her hands moved restlessly until she caught a sliver of heat that was hard to ignore.
The chaotic brain suddenly became clear.
The author has something to say:
