Chapter 24: I make around 3 million every minute
Su Yan did not answer, but retracted her foot, expressing her attitude with her actions.
"Hehe, even if you don't let you bite me, I'm going to bite you anyway." If she agreed, He Ji might not bite her, but if she didn't agree, He Ji would definitely bite her.
He ignored the little struggle, snorted, lowered his head and bit Su Yan's feet.
Su Yan felt pain and kicked subconsciously.
Although he was kicked, He Ji was in a good mood. He stopped teasing her and took the shoes and put them on the pair of feet that were already visibly red.
"With such small and tender feet, I don't know how you managed to walk into this deep mountain."
Su Yan sat obediently on his lap and did not answer him.
When she first came here, she did fall many times, but she didn't just fall here. Before she came here, she also fell several times a day.
She arrived at this small village two months after she left. She had originally planned to stay there for only two days, but she couldn't resist the pleadings of the village chief and villagers, so she finally stayed.
He Ji had never helped anyone put on shoes, and it took him two minutes to put on the shoes. He was so angry that he wanted to throw the shoes away.
After putting on his shoes, he took out the clothes from the bag and asked Su Yan to hold out her hands. "I can't find any clean clothes for you, so you can wear mine for now. I'll buy you more when we get to town."
The clothes he took out were big enough to almost cover her entire body.
Su Yan's eyebrows were almost pulled together. She didn't want to wear it, but she obediently stretched out her hand under He Ji's threatening gaze.
The clothes were full of his scent. Su Yan took a breath, feeling a little uncomfortable. She wanted to pull the collar down a little, but was stopped.
"The wind is very strong, wrap yourself up tightly." He Ji helped her put on the hat, took two steps back, looked her up and down, and finally nodded with satisfaction.
Although the clothes were not suitable for her, He Ji thought she looked good no matter how he looked at her because the little girl was wrapped in the big coat.
Su Yan lowered her head and realized that He Ji hadn't put on his shoes yet. The mud and water on the ground were icy and freezing to the feet. Su Yan shivered just by looking at it.
Looking at the shoes thrown aside casually, she hesitated for a moment, then squatted down to pick them up.
"Put on your shoes first."
Her voice was too soft and He Ji couldn't hear it clearly in the howling cold wind, but looking at the shoes in her hand, he finally understood what she meant.
He had thick skin and was used to wind and rain, so his body had been well-trained and he was not afraid of the cold wind at all. However, he had to appreciate the child's rare concern.
After putting on his shoes and clothes, he lit a fire, threw the quilt over Su Yan's shoulders, and squinted at the village at the foot of the mountain.
The noise made by the collapsed house was quite loud. I don’t know whether the villagers really didn’t hear it or they heard it but didn’t take it seriously. No one came out to check.
He retracted his gaze, patted Su Yan's head through his thick hat, and snorted, "There was such a loud noise here, but they didn't hear it. If someone really wanted to do something to you, would they be able to catch up and save you?"
"I'm afraid you might yell your throat out over here and they might think it's a wild cat meowing."
This broken house was blown down by a little wind. I don’t know which bastard did this, but he wanted to kill people.
There was obvious anger on his face. Su Yan didn't dare to respond and lowered her head to look at her hands.
She looked like she knew she was wrong, and He Ji didn't have the heart to say anything more to her. He reached out and pulled her into his arms, "It's still early, go back to sleep."
Su Yan wasn't a carefree person. How could she possibly sleep after something like this happened? She stretched out her hands to warm them and whispered, "I can't sleep."
He Ji gritted his teeth, grabbed her hand back, and stuffed the phone in it, "If you can't sleep, play with your phone for a while."
It will take several hours before daybreak, and playing with my phone will help time pass faster.
"Where's your phone?" Su Yan took the phone and asked subconsciously.
He Ji: “…The screen is black!”
Su Yan: "...That's really bad!"
After a two-second pause, she continued, "Actually, I still have some money. I'll take it out and give it to you when we get to town tomorrow."
Although the collapse of the house was not her fault, his phone would not have broken if he had not come to find her.
So, in a sense, his cell phone was broken, which was partly due to her, so it was only right that she should pay some money.
"But I can't give it all to you. I need to save some money for food."
She talked to herself, which made He Ji, who was hugging her, very angry. He rubbed his face and felt his teeth aching from anger.
Doesn't he look like a man who can't even come up with a thousand or two?
Thinking of his usual attire, He Ji felt his teeth ache even more.
Normally, he looks almost like a homeless person.
"Kid, keep your money safe. I don't need you to pay for it."
Su Yan said "oh", opened her phone, swiped a few times, and then put it away.
The signal here is very poor, and phone calls are intermittent, not to mention watching the news.
She didn't download any games, so now her phone has no other use except taking pictures and checking the time.
Both of them were silent. They were so close that Su Yan could hear his steady breathing. The atmosphere was a little weird. She licked her lips and found a random topic.
"Aren't you very busy? How did you find yourself here?"
Hearing the doubtful voice, He Ji clicked his tongue, pinched Su Yan's waist, lifted her up, and placed her on his thigh.
"You knew I was busy, but you still came all this way? Do you know how much money I lost just to find you? I make around three million every minute."
He held her in his arms and sat her on his lap, and the quilt that was originally separating the two of them was pulled away, covering both of them.
His scent became stronger, completely enveloping her whole body. Su Yan's face, which had just recovered, turned red again. She clenched her fists on her chest, slightly separating the two of them.
Hearing He Ji's words, she tilted her head slightly and asked in a low voice: "Are you serious?"
Her tone was soft and her expression was serious, as if she really believed what she said. He Ji gritted his teeth and suddenly felt itchy and wanted to spank her.
If he was making millions every minute, would he even need to walk in? He would have called in a fleet of excavators to dig a path through here long ago.
"Little girl, don't be so honest. What men say most of the time can't be believed."
"You need to be more careful. You are easily deceived by bad men in your current state."
Su Yan blinked, lowered her head and didn't say anything for a long time.
Just when He Ji thought she wouldn't answer, a sound not much louder than a mosquito came from her chest.
"Did you lie to me then?"
He Ji was stunned for a moment, then he let out a low, hoarse laugh, "I'm not a good person, of course I would lie to you."
"Then what did you lie to me about?"
Su Yan thought about it carefully. They didn't spend much time together, and it seemed that she had not been deceived in any way.
"You said it was a lie, how could I tell you so easily!"
Su Yan: “…Oh”
"No, I won't lie to my wife. If you become my wife, I'll dig my heart out and give it to you."
