Chapter 71: How about washing your face first?
He did the same with the glove on the other hand. After he was done, he raised his eyebrows at Su Yan, as if asking her if she had any excuses.
He has already done this much, even if Su Yan still has an excuse, she is too embarrassed to say it.
She sighed silently, hugged He Ji tightly, and went back to the room with him.
…
The next day, the clock was already pointing to twelve o'clock, but the person who was supposed to pick me up for dinner still hadn't shown up.
Su Yan breathed a sigh of relief and watered the flowers again. The flower shop was not big, and it only took a few minutes to water them once.
The work was done, but the person still didn't show up. Su Yan really had no excuse not to call.
She took out her cell phone, found He Ji's number, hesitated for a few seconds, and then pressed the dial button.
He Ji answered the phone very quickly. After just one beep, he was connected, as if he had been waiting for the call.
"Hello"
After a burst of noise, his rustling voice was heard. Su Yan paused, thinking that his voice was a little strange, but did not think much about it.
"Kid? Why aren't you talking?" She remained silent for a long time. The person on the other end spoke again, this time with a puzzled tone, "Can't you hear me?"
"Hmm? Ah, I can hear it." Su Yan came back to her senses and responded stutteringly.
"Are you busy? Are you too late to come back for dinner?"
A soft question came from the phone. He Ji leaned back in his chair, staring at Lin Er, who looked guilty, and pulled the corners of his mouth.
If it weren't for this bastard, he and his children would be enjoying delicious meals now. There would be no way they would be wasting such precious time in the hospital.
Lin Er knew that it was all his fault. Meeting He Ji's gaze, he tried hard to force a flattering smile.
He Ji was too lazy to look at him. He glanced at his still bleeding feet and said, "It's not very busy, but it will take another hour or two before I can go back. You can eat first."
He hung up the phone after he finished speaking. Su Yan stared at the phone, and the strange feeling in her heart became even stronger.
He had never spoken to her so seriously on the phone before. Even his tone was so normal, without any hint of teasing.
Not knowing what happened to him, Su Yan also lost her appetite. She ate a piece of bread casually and dozed off on the counter again.
Maybe it’s because the location is too remote, or maybe it’s not well-known yet, the flower shop’s business is not very good. During the hottest time of the day, there is even less people.
Su Yan dozed off for a while, and in a daze she heard a greeting coming from the door. She half opened her eyelids and saw a man standing in front of the counter.
She was startled and sat up straight, and the sleepiness disappeared instantly.
The strange man who came was the same one from yesterday. He didn't say anything this time. He stared at Su Yan for a few seconds, then silently took out the plastic bag from yesterday.
Su Yan: ...
She stood up and wrapped a rose for him. After he packed it, he turned around and left. Su Yan stood there in a daze for a while.
When I looked away, I found that there was someone standing at the door.
"You were so reluctant to leave. If you didn't know, you would think that was your man."
He Ji casually picked a flower and waved at her, "Come over and help me quickly, you have no sense at all."
After being ridiculed by him for a few words, Su Yan saw his feet wrapped like dumplings. She blinked and hurried over.
"What happened?" He was fine when he left home this morning.
"Nothing, just stepped on a nail."
His tone was natural, no different from usual, but Su Yan's heart trembled when she heard it.
"How deep is the wound? Did you get a tetanus shot?"
Her tone was anxious, and she went over to support him and walked in carefully.
"It's not that deep, it just pierced through." He Ji grabbed her shoulders, pinned the plucked flower to her ear, and nodded with satisfaction, "Well, my eyesight is still as good as ever. This flower is perfect for you."
It's already come to this, but they're still not serious. Su Yan was so angry that she couldn't speak.
She pursed her lips and helped He Ji in with a stern face. Worried that he would feel uncomfortable sitting, she even brought a stool for him to rest his feet on.
She didn't say anything. After finishing her task, she went to water the flowers, then packed up her things. Finally, she picked up her cell phone, supported him and went back.
"Don't be so nervous. You've already been given medicine. It's the same if you just rest here."
Su Yan still didn't say anything. She closed the door and carefully took him back home. She put him on the sofa and went into the bathroom to get a basin of water.
They didn't bring an umbrella when they came back just now. The sun was so strong that they both broke out in sweat. Su Yan still felt like her head was smoking.
He Ji lay on the sofa, put two pillows behind his head, hugged his chest and looked at her.
"Stop working and let me hug you."
He was sweating all over. Normally, Su Yan would even dislike him lying on the sofa, let alone hugging him.
But when she looked at He Ji's feet that were wrapped like dumplings, she paused, put down the towel, sat on the ground, and leaned her head obediently in his arms.
He Ji narrowed his eyes, enjoying her obedience, and thought to himself that Lin Er was still somewhat useful.
But then again, if it wasn't useful, he would have been killed by himself long ago.
I don’t know how many years it has been since I last saw blood. This time, it was because of him that my foot was pierced through by a broken nail.
Fortunately, he spoke quickly. If he had been a few seconds later, he would have been thrown onto the street by now.
"Why are you so careless? Does it still hurt?"
Lying on his chest, listening to his strong heartbeat, Su Yan's voice was a little muffled.
"I was so focused on thinking about you at the time that I didn't look at the ground and accidentally stepped on it." He Ji touched her face and said with a smile: "It must be painful to be pierced by a nail."
He Ji talked about panicking, but he didn't even blink. To him, this little pain was nothing, he had experienced worse pain before.
He gave in in front of Su Yan only because he listened to Lin Er's advice and wanted to take advantage of her.
"Kid, I'm in so much pain, can you give me a kiss?"
Su Yan looked up at his slightly ferocious face, somewhat confused. He was in so much pain, how could he still be thinking about these things?
"I remember there are some painkillers at home. I'll get you two."
He Ji: ...
What the hell is the painkiller? If he wanted it, he wouldn't have to act so pitiful in front of her.
"I don't eat that stuff." He Ji pressed her head, not letting her leave, "I just want to kiss you."
No painkiller in the world is as effective as her. With her, he wouldn't even say a word even if he had to scrape his bones to treat his wounds.
Su Yan stared at him for half a minute, said "oh", and then there was no movement.
He Ji gritted his teeth, so angry that he wanted to force himself on her. If it's okay, it's okay. If it's not, it's not okay. What's the point of saying "oh"?
Seeing that he was gradually getting impatient, Su Yan reached out and hooked her hand around his, whispering, "Why don't you wash your face first?"
Oh my god, mom, wash your face first.
It's just a kiss, why do you need such a sense of ritual?
