Chapter 8: Becoming a National Treasure

Chapter 8: Becoming a National Treasure

Looking at her pitiful appearance, He Ji tapped her soft cheek.

"You little shrew, you can't stand it even at this point?"

"Don't feel wronged. I'll take you out to play tomorrow."

"I'm not going!"

He Ji laughed instantly when he heard the soft and sticky sound mixed with crying.

The child's voice is so sweet.

"That tall shelf outside, do you want to go up and take a look? From up there, you can see half the city."

Although this is an exaggeration, the higher you stand, the farther you can see. Every time he stands there, he has a different feeling.

"Looking down from above, you're only slightly bigger than a cockroach. Don't you really want to go up and take a look?"

He used a coaxing tone, and Su Yan was somewhat persuaded. She asked hesitantly, "Then how do we get up there?"

"There's an elevator. Let's take it up." Although there was still a long way to go before they could climb up, He Ji, who had finally persuaded the other person, answered without feeling guilty at all.

Su Yan's mind was a little confused. Although she didn't like crowded places, she was still a girl in her early twenties after all, and she still had a yearning for the outside world.

She hadn't gone out to play for so long, and now that He Ji had piqued her interest, she felt a little restless.

Afraid that she would think too much and finally back out, He Ji made the decision directly.

"It's settled then. I'll come see you tomorrow morning."

The weather will still be very hot tomorrow, so he should come early and take her upstairs to see the place for a while before bringing her back. The temperature will be just right and not too unbearable.

Su Yan was still thinking about it. She didn't expect him to say it just like that. She was a little overwhelmed.

Looking at the smile on He Ji's face, she always felt that she was being tricked.

Finally, when He Ji went to eat, he took Su Yan, who was not hungry, with him. No matter how much she said she didn't want to eat, she was forced to eat half a bowl.

After finishing her meal, it was almost ten o'clock. Su Yan, who was used to going to bed early, yawned quietly.

He Ji had no intention of going back, so she naturally didn't dare to ask him to leave. So she could only sit on the sofa and try to watch TV with her eyes wide open.

She has been running the air conditioner and TV this month, and she can already imagine the huge amount she will have to pay for electricity.

I don’t know if the money left in my pocket is enough to pay.

A famous variety show was playing on TV. Listening to the bursts of laughter coming from it, Su Yan really didn't know what was so funny.

She looked for a while and was so bored that she almost fell asleep, so she secretly looked at He Ji.

He Ji sat steadily, as if he didn't notice that she was so sleepy that she could hardly open her eyes, and he had no intention of leaving.

Finally, Su Yan couldn't stand it anymore. She rubbed her hands for a long time before saying in a voice not much louder than a mosquito's buzz, "I want to sleep."

After waiting for more than half an hour, He Ji finally felt relieved that she spoke first.

"See, it's not that hard to get the words out there, is it?"

The child can't even refuse others. What will she do if she meets someone as shameless as him in the future?

He didn't want to stay here and disturb her sleep, but some people just couldn't be helped without some pressure.

As of now, the results are quite significant. The children who were afraid to speak have learned to say no.

Su Yan didn't expect that he stayed just to teach her how to say no.

She bit her lip, her heart beating rapidly again.

When He Ji returned, he leaned close to Su Yan's ear and reminded her in a hoarse voice not to get up late tomorrow.

Chenggong saw the white ear turn pink, and he walked out laughing.

Su Yan sat on the sofa, looking as if she had been molested by a hooligan, with a red face full of shame and anger.

It was difficult for her to fall asleep because she had something on her mind. When the alarm clock rang the next day, she seemed to have just fallen asleep.

When she went into the bathroom to wash up, she was shocked to see herself with a pair of panda eyes.

Since graduating from high school, she has not suffered from insomnia or dark circles under her eyes.

The sudden appearance of dark circles under her eyes today really scared her.

After she finished washing up, there was a knock on the door. She hesitated in the room for half a minute and still didn't intend to open the door.

He Ji, who was waiting outside the door, became impatient. He looked around and went straight to the roof.

There was no movement outside the house, so Su Yan breathed a sigh of relief, guessing that he had left.

Just as she was about to get something to eat, she heard some noise coming from the window balcony. She turned around and was frightened by the person who suddenly appeared.

She didn't even notice that the tissue in her hand had fallen to the ground. She just stared blankly at the person approaching her.

"Little boy, you're quite good at applying what you've learned. I just taught you how to say no last night, and today you used it on me."

Su Yan looked at him and then at the still swaying curtains. She was speechless and took two steps back hesitantly.

She wanted to say that she didn't open the door because she was not feeling well, but her throat seemed to be blocked by something, and she said she couldn't even vomit.

Only when He Ji got closer did he see the dark circles under her eyes. His eyes flashed, and he reached out and lifted Su Yan's face.

"No wonder he didn't dare to speak up. It turns out he's become a national treasure, a treasure."

He was too close, and his breath hit her face while he was talking, making Su Yan feel a little dizzy.

She had never met such a person before, so domineering that even his aura was aggressive.

The air she breathed was filled with the faint smell of tobacco on him, mixed with the smell of his body. Su Yan, who always hated the smell of cigarettes, didn't find it that bad now.

The child obviously didn't get enough rest, so He Ji felt it was inconvenient to take her out, so he postponed the plan.

"Don't go today. Rest at home and tell me when you want to go."

"You don't have to cook breakfast, I have it over there. Come and eat it."

As he was talking, Su Yan was half-hugged over, her arms pressed against his hard chest, and Su Yan almost jumped up.

The breakfast He Ji cooked was simple: millet porridge, two salted duck eggs, and a plate of vegetables.

Although there wasn't much, it was much better than Su Yan's breakfast of just rice porridge.

He Ji usually doesn't cook breakfast for himself. After all, for him, something that can be prepared with just ten yuan will definitely not take him half an hour to make.

Moreover, porridge is no different from water to him. He would not touch it unless he had no other choice.

Therefore, this morning meal was specially prepared for Su Yan.

The two of them sat at the small dining table, saying they were having breakfast together, but in reality only Su Yan picked up her chopsticks.

"I forgot to buy eggs last time. Next time you go to the supermarket, remember to remind me. Eating an egg every morning is good for your health."

He was talking to himself, not expecting Su Yan's answer, and picked up his chopsticks to pick up some food for Su Yan.

"Make a list of what you like and don't like to eat when you're home, and give it to me when I get back. Then I'll know what to cook next time."

He continued to instruct, and Su Yan bit her chopsticks and whispered back, "I'm not picky about food."
