Chapter 9: Sick

Chapter 9: Sick

When she was a child, she didn't like eating vegetables and it was extremely painful for her to eat them every time. Later, in order to prevent her from being picky about food, her family had a vegetable feast for six consecutive months.

Not only that, in order to prevent her from cheating outside, her family did not give her any pocket money during that six months.

If she doesn't want to starve to death, she has to eat vegetables.

So now, all her problems have been corrected.

Um--

No matter whether they are good or bad habits, as long as her parents think they are bad, she has to change them.

He Ji looked at her, smiled and nodded, "It's good if she's not picky about food, and easy to feed."

"You don't have to write about food you don't like, but there must be dishes you like, right?"

"You don't have to write too much. Just write ten for me when I get off work tonight."

If he had mentioned one or two, Su Yan would have answered them on the spot, but when she thought about it carefully, she realized that there really wasn't any ten.

Her family was not well-off, and the dishes she cooked were always the same. Whether she liked them or not, she had been eating them for more than ten years.

"Don't worry, there are still more than ten hours left. Take your time and you'll figure it out."

Since he said so, Su Yan could only nod.

After supervising her to eat a full bowl of porridge, He Ji cleaned up the dishes and asked her to help clean the room before leaving.

She just said yesterday that she would help with the cleaning, and she started today.

Su Yan went back, put on her hat and gloves, and put on an apron, then started working hard.

He had only lived in the house for two days, so it couldn't be that dirty at all, but Su Yan still cleaned it inside and out.

After mopping the floor, it was my turn to go to the bathroom. Looking at the clothes thrown into the washing machine, the black underwear was particularly eye-catching.

Su Yan didn't want to help with the washing at first, but after cleaning the toilet and looking at the messy clothes, she couldn't help it.

Avoiding the panties, she turned on the washing machine and put all the clothes in with the hangers.

She helps with washing clothes, but it's not her responsibility to dry them. Even if she is willing, she won't help with drying underwear.

Standing at the door, she looked at the room which was now much tidier, and couldn't help feeling happy.

As expected, cleaning the room thoroughly makes her happier.

When she got home, she cleaned the house again. It took her half a day to tidy up the two rooms.

Her body felt sore, so she lost her appetite. She took a shower and went to her room to sleep.

I slept until the sun went down, and when I woke up, the sky was already dark.

I don’t know whose light was shining through the curtains, giving the originally dark room a glimmer of light.

Su Yan felt her head was extremely heavy, as if she was carrying a ten-kilogram dumbbell.

My nose is still blocked and I can't breathe even if I breathe hard.

She had no strength left. The water in the cup on the bedside had been blown by the air conditioner for a long time and had now become ice-cold. When Su Yan drank it, her throat felt much more comfortable, but her nose became more blocked.

Although she knew she had a cold, her limbs were so weak that she couldn't get up.

After struggling for half a minute, she finally lay back down.

While she was drowsy, a big warm hand was placed on her forehead. Before she could feel it any more, the hand was suddenly withdrawn.

She tried to open her eyes, but could only see a blurry figure.

Her throat was hoarse and she couldn't say anything. She groaned uncomfortably.

When she was sick, she really turned back into a child, whining and moaning, unable to tell where she was in pain.

He Ji went out for a short while and came back with a glass of water and some medicine. He put them on the bedside table and woke Su Yan up.

Su Yan couldn't open her eyes, so she could only open her mouth according to his instructions. In the end, she spit it out because the pill was too big.

The pills that dissolved in water were extremely bitter, and after she spat them out, she refused to take them again.

He Ji patiently coaxed her for two minutes, but she still refused to open her mouth. Finally, he lost his patience and simply pried open Su Yan's mouth with his hands and stuffed the pill into her mouth.

Afraid that she would spit out the medicine again, he reached out and pressed down her tongue, forcing her to swallow the medicine in the roughest but most effective way.

Even though she was not yet fully awake, Su Yan could feel how she was being treated. She cried with a hoarse voice.

She was already a very pitiful-looking girl, and now she was lying on the bed with a pale face, tears in the corners of her eyes, whimpering, she looked so pitiful.

He Ji felt distressed watching this, but he did not regret what he had just done. After all, this was the only way now.

After taking the medicine, Su Yan's whimpering gradually weakened and she slowly fell asleep.

When I woke up again, it was already the middle of the night.

There was a small light on in the room and the air conditioner was turned up a few degrees, now within the temperature she could tolerate.

He Ji sat on the edge of the bed, his head lowered, his fingers jumping on the screen of his mobile phone, as if he was particularly busy.

Afraid that speaking suddenly would disturb him, Su Yan did not speak. Instead, she waited until He Ji stopped moving before coughing lightly.

"Awake? Are you still feeling uncomfortable?"

He Ji heard the sound and looked over. Seeing that her eyes were open, he stood up and turned on the light.

Su Yan shook her head, "I'm not feeling uncomfortable anywhere."

Actually, I still feel uncomfortable, but it is much better now than when I was in a coma.

She still didn't look very energetic, and He Ji was still worried, so he took out a thermometer and asked her to hold it.

Su Yan held it obediently, and waited until he sat down before asking, "Do I have a fever?"

Seeing He Ji nod, she exclaimed.

She thought she just had a cold, but unexpectedly she had a fever.

She hadn't been sick for several years, but this time, for some reason, the disease came on so violently.

"Give me a copy of the house key, otherwise I'll have to replace the window next time I come in."

After he said that, Su Yan noticed that the window had no glass, and now when the wind blew outside, a corner of the curtain would be lifted.

She just took a quick glance and thought that the curtains were blown up because the window was not closed tightly, but she didn't expect that the window glass was gone.

He climbed in from outside twice, and even if the window was closed, he could break it with one punch, so it seemed like it didn't matter whether he was given the key or not.

"The keys are on the shoe cabinet at the door, go get them yourself!"

Su Yan replied softly, then reached out to take the water on the bedside table to drink.

"The water is cold. I'll pour you a glass of warm water."

He Ji stopped her hand, picked up the cup first, and turned to leave after saying that.

When he came back, he not only had warm water in his hand, but also a bowl of soft white rice porridge in his other hand.

"You've been lying down for so long, you must be very hungry. Have some white rice porridge first."

A patient lying in bed has no right to decide what to do. Su Yan could only nod obediently to whatever he said.

She took the cup and just took a sip when she frowned and hissed.

My mouth felt like it was injured and it stung when it touched warm water.

Su Yan's eyes were red, and she endured the stinging sensation before she dared to move.
