Chapter 230 Morning Sickness

"I love you."

Lu Chen said one sentence and then kissed her.

Finally, Ye Zhiyu shyly buried herself in his arms.

Lu Chen chuckled and stroked her face: "Even as an old married couple, you're still so shy."

Ye Zhiyu refused to listen: "What do you mean by 'old married couple'? Lu Chen, what do you mean? Do you think I'm too old?" She glared at him coldly.

Lu Chen remained calm and composed, a composure he had developed while caring for Ye Zhiyu's pregnancy.

He asked Tian Hongfang for some tips on pregnancy, and also told her that a woman's temper might become a little worse when she's pregnant, so he shouldn't get impatient and argue with his wife.

At first, Lu Chen really didn't know how to coax Ye Zhiyu because Ye Zhiyu's emotions were too unpredictable.

From being at a loss to now being able to handle things with ease.

He pulled her back into his arms. "How could that be? If anyone's complaining, it's you complaining about me. After all, I'm almost 30."

Although there were still two years left, his mother kept nagging in his ear, and coincidentally, Ye Zhiyu was throwing a tantrum.

It doesn't matter, being two years older is fine.

Catch the question, then raise another question, and finally throw the question back at the problem.

"Ayu, will you think I'm too old? You're so great, I'm always worried that the younger students are more attractive than me."

His tone was full of possessiveness, and Ye Zhiyu smiled sweetly.

"I'm pregnant, what do you have to worry about? I'll always be yours."

"Between the child and yourself, who do you love more?"

He was still struggling with this child who had suddenly appeared.

Ye Zhiyu was both amused and exasperated: "Why are you arguing with a child?"

Lu Chen had only asked casually and didn't want to dwell on the issue of age, since it was his weakness.

Ye Zhiyu's ambiguous attitude completely ignited his possessiveness.

He gently protected her belly while forcefully making her face him.

“Ayu, you can only choose one between me and her. One cannot be too greedy.”

Ye Zhiyu struggled, "Ugh, you're so annoying, I don't want to answer."

But how could the domineering Lu Chen let her break free? He wrapped his arm around her waist.

Instantly, Ye Zhiyu went limp in his arms.

"Ayu, tell me, who do you love the most?"

A large hand hovered over the buttons.

Ye Zhiyu's eyes widened, and she grabbed his hand. "What are you doing? I'm pregnant."

Lu Chen chuckled, "Baby, of course I know, but..."

He whispered in her ear and successfully saw Ye Zhiyu's face turn bright red.

She punched him in embarrassment and anger, calling him a "rogue."

Lu Chen didn't take it to heart. How could he be considered a hooligan when it came to his wife?

Lu Chen leaned closer, his voice dangerous: "Who do you choose?"

The warm breath on her neck made Ye Zhiyu tremble.

He tilted his head unnaturally, stammering, "I... I choose you."

Lu Chen smiled with satisfaction and released her.

Ye Zhiyu straightened her slightly disheveled clothes. She glared at him: "What kind of father are you? If the children knew, they'd definitely hate you."

Lu Chen raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "I don't care. I only care about you."

Who could resist being moved by such an inexplicable favoritism? Ye Zhiyu wrapped her arms around his neck and scolded him playfully, "You're so sweet-talking."

Lu Chen lightly pecked her red lips: "It's not just sweet talk, it's my true feelings."

"The second brother? Lu Chen?"

Tian Hongfang's voice came from outside.

Lu Chen told Ye Zhiyu to stay in the room. Despite her lively personality, she hadn't eaten properly for many days.

Lu Chen could only try his best to make her happy.

Downstairs, Tian Hongfang found a bowl in the kitchen, filled it with chicken soup, and was about to take it upstairs when she saw Lu Chen come down.

We had already agreed that she wouldn't have to serve us, but how could she possibly let that go?

Knowing that Ye Zhiyu was experiencing severe morning sickness, they couldn't sit still any longer.

They prepare the same dish every day and send it over. If it's inedible, they change it the next day.

I've lost count of how many times this has been changed.

"Bring this chicken soup up to Zhiyu and let her try it. I've skimmed off all the oil."

Lu Chen took it, and the two went upstairs together.

When Tian Hongfang saw Ye Zhiyu lying on the bed, she came over and touched her face with heartache.

"Oh my, look at my good daughter, her face is so thin, she's gotten so skinny."

Ye Zhiyu smiled gently and reassured her, "Mom, I'm fine. It's not as exaggerated as you say."

You might lose a few pounds, but not that much.

There's a kind of thinness that only your mom thinks you're thin.

"Why not? Oh, it breaks my heart."

Lu Chen brought over a bowl of chicken soup: "Here, this is chicken soup your mother made for you. Want to try some?"

Ye Zhiyu didn't really want to eat it, but since they had gone to so much trouble to make it, she forced herself to drink a sip despite feeling nauseous, all while being watched by the two expectant eyes.

I couldn't swallow it at all, and after holding it in my mouth for a long time, I still spat it out.

Tian Hongfang paced anxiously, saying, "Oh dear, what should we do? How can we bear this?"

Then he rushed home to study recipes.

Ye Zhiyu grabbed Lu Chen's hand: "Tell Mom not to bother anymore, maybe she'll get better after a while."

Lu Chen shook his head: "How long is 'a while'? You can't go on like this. We're fine, as long as you're healthy."

After calming her down, Lu Chen went downstairs to work on making things.

After a busy day, I finally managed to drink some porridge.

Ye Zhiyu was extremely troubled and exhausted by the repeated vomiting.

She fell asleep quickly in Lu Chen's arms.

But today seemed different from usual; she felt as if her soul was slowly rising.

I haven't felt this way in a long time. The last time I felt this way was a few years ago when I saw my father, Tiandao, in a dream.

So...

Is this time I'm going to meet Tiandao's father?

Thinking this, my soul settled into reality, and my eyes opened.

Her father, Tiandao, was watching her with doting eyes not far away, with that familiar look in his eyes.

"Dad~" Ye Zhiyu ran over.

Heaven caught her: "Why are you still like a little girl?"

"So what do you want me to do? Be mature and stable?"

Heaven smiled helplessly: "That's fine then."

Ye Zhiyu rolled her eyes at him: "Then that's settled."

"I'm seeing you this time because you're having terrible morning sickness, so I have something for you."

"What is that?"

Heaven made her stand up straight and gently stroked her belly.

A warm current swept over her, and Ye Zhiyu felt the nausea that had been lingering in her body disappear.

"What's this?"

The Heavenly Dao withdrew its hand: "Under the protection of the Heavenly Dao, this child of yours exists outside the world's consciousness. It does not acknowledge you, but you are my daughter. It dares not go too far and can only use such details to make you give up on having this child."

With the protection of Heaven's will, the world's consciousness had no choice but to compromise.

Ye Zhiyu frowned and sniffed, "What? Does it look down on me? I'm at least a minor Heavenly Dao, aren't I?"

Tiandao tapped her nose: "Little Tiandao, why are you still acting coquettishly towards your husband? I remember I'm always so serious."
