Chapter 193 The Secret of My Origins

Upon hearing this, everyone fell silent. This was not a good thing, and they didn't know how to advise against it.

Li Yunfeng waved to everyone, comforting them, "It's alright, let's just call him the third one. It's not that I have any deep feelings for Li Sijie, but it's really just that I feel embarrassed."

"This takes time; it will fade away gradually."

Ye Wenyue nodded, but didn't say much. She knew her son well enough to know that nothing serious would happen to him.

To be honest, his relationship with Li Sijie was more like that of siblings than lovers. It wasn't a life-or-death situation; perhaps he just couldn't bring himself to say it.

After all, his family had tried to dissuade him before, but he didn't believe Li Sijie had ulterior motives.

After chatting for a while, Yan Junting and Yun Duoduo decided to go to the hospital to pick up Yan Gusheng.

To make it easier for Yan Gusheng to return, Yan Junting even drove a small four-wheeled vehicle from Li Yunfeng's factory over.

When they arrived at the hospital, Yan Junting needed to find a place to park, so he asked Yun Duoduo to take breakfast upstairs first, worried that it would get cold later.

But just as Yun Duoduo reached the outside of the ward and was about to push the door open, she suddenly heard Wu Chunlan and Yan Gusheng arguing inside.

First came Yan Gusheng's somewhat helpless voice, "If you don't want to take care of me, just say so. Don't make trouble for no reason all day long. What are you doing?"

"Yan Gusheng, am I looking for trouble? Don't you know what you did more than 20 years ago?" Wu Chunlan's voice was also slightly agitated.

The two were silent for a while. Just as Yun Duoduo was about to go in, Yan Gusheng's voice came from inside again, "You said it yourself, it happened more than 20 years ago. Why are you bringing it up again? It's all in the past."

All that could be heard was Wu Chunlan's soft hum, "I'd like to go there too, but now whenever I see your son, I'm reminded of you and that woman. Such a big thing, and you've kept it from me all this time. Is there anything you're afraid to do?"

Hearing this, Yun Duoduo recalled what Yan Qiuting had told her before, and it turned out that he really thought the same thing.

But to her utter surprise, Wu Chunlan's next words took her by surprise.

Wu Chunlan seemed to get more and more agitated as she spoke, "Yan Gusheng, I can't even imagine, if I hadn't seen that letter, were you planning to keep it from me for the rest of your life? I always thought he was my son, raised him with great care, and even sent him to the army..."

Before he could finish speaking, Yan Gusheng interrupted him, "Shut up, don't say any more."

Upon hearing this, Yun Duoduo frowned deeply, and even her heartbeat quickened considerably; the amount of information contained in those few words was immense.

As she had previously guessed, there really was a woman between Yan Gusheng and Wu Chunlan, and now it seemed that it wasn't just one woman, but also a child.

And that child is...

Before Yun Duoduo could react, Yan Junting's voice suddenly came from behind her, "Duoduo, what's wrong? Why aren't you going in? Why are you standing here?"

Yun Duoduo woke up with a start and looked at Yan Junting in front of her.

She then realized that Yan Junting looked somewhat different from Yan Qiuting and Yan Honglan.

Although the three siblings are all quite good-looking, and Yan Junting and Yan Qiuting even look somewhat alike, their resemblance stems from their resemblance to Yan Gusheng.

Where they differ, each has its own unique characteristics.

Moreover, it's also noticeable that there seems to be some difference in height among the three people.

Yan Junting is very tall, probably around 185 cm. Yan Qiuting is at most 170 cm, and Yan Honglan is not tall either.

Furthermore, neither Yan Gusheng nor Wu Chunlan are particularly tall. According to genetics, they might not actually be able to have a child as tall as Yan Junting.

Actually, Yun Duoduo and the others had never suspected anything before, mainly because of what Wu Chunlan said earlier that led him to join the army.

Of their children, only Yan Junting joined the army.

Moreover, if there is a child who wasn't born to Wu Chunlan, it can only be Yan Junting.

The problem is, if Yan Junting wasn't Wu Chunlan's biological son, how could Wu Chunlan not know?

In Yun Duoduo's opinion, the only possibility she could think of was that Yan Gusheng had been intimate with a woman before marrying Wu Chunlan, and that woman became pregnant and gave birth to Yan Junting.

If that's the case, Wu Chunlan will definitely know what happened.

However, in Yun Duoduo's view, Wu Chunlan seemed to have only recently learned that Yan Gusheng had a woman outside and had a child, and that the child was not her biological child.

Seeing that Yun Duoduo was still in a daze, Yan Junting reached out and grabbed her arm, shaking it slightly. "What's wrong?"

Yun Duoduo snapped out of her daze and forced a smile. "It's nothing, I'm just worried that the doctor won't let Dad leave the hospital."

The people inside were quiet for a while, and probably heard Yan Junting's voice outside, so they came over and opened the door.

Wu Chunlan opened the door. When she saw Yan Junting and Yun Duoduo, her angry gaze softened slightly, and she called out to them, "You're here?"

Yan Junting's eyes flickered. He and Yun Duoduo went into the ward together. He pointed to the food in Yun Duoduo's hand and said, "Mom, I brought you breakfast. You eat first. I'll go ask the doctor if Dad can be discharged today."

Upon hearing that they could be discharged, Yan Gusheng and Wu Chunlan were quite happy. Wu Chunlan immediately urged Yan Junting, "Okay, okay, go and ask quickly. It would be great if we could be discharged."

Yan Junting nodded, turned around and left the hospital.

Yun Duoduo placed breakfast on the hospital bedside table so that Yan Gusheng and Wu Chunlan could eat together.

Now Yan Gusheng doesn't need to be fed anymore. Yun Duoduo prepares the food for him, puts it in his hand, and he can sit up and eat by himself.

The two didn't say a word during the meal, creating an awkward atmosphere.

Yun Duoduo glanced at the two of them but remained silent.

After Yan Gusheng finished eating, Yun Duoduo reached out to take his lunchbox.

Yan Gusheng smiled at Yun Duoduo and asked softly, "Duoduo, you're pregnant, so you have to be careful. Don't come to the hospital to see me anymore. If you need anything, just have Honglan and Qiuting come. We can't take care of you, so we won't cause you any more trouble."

As Yun Duoduo packed up the lunchbox, she smiled and said, "It's okay, Dad. I'm still early in my pregnancy, it's fine."

Yan Gusheng nodded, then suddenly seemed to remember something and said to Yun Duoduo, "By the way, Duoduo, bring Dad's bag over here."

As Yan Gusheng spoke, he pointed to a blue cloth bag placed on the ground.

Upon hearing Yan Gusheng's words, Yun Duoduo did as he said, assuming he was going to get some clothes or something.

Yan Gusheng rummaged through his bag and then took out a small package wrapped in a checkered handkerchief.
