Ye Wenyue, having been a wife and mother for decades, is a slightly better cook than Ning Yue, but only just good enough to keep her from starving. Anyone with even a slight preference for good food would not want to eat her cooking.

Yun Duoduo opened the refrigerator. The upper part of the refrigerator was a freezer, which was small and had two layers. It was filled with all kinds of meat and vegetables, which were placed at the bottom and were also packed full.
This stuff should last Ningyue at least a week.
It's a bit of a shame that she can't cook.
Yun Duoduo smiled and said, "Mom, why don't you consider hiring a housekeeper to cook three meals a day for you?"
“I’ve thought about it, but I like quiet and I’m not too keen on interacting with strangers. I still want to learn to do it myself.” Ning Yue finished speaking and then slowly smiled. “I’m thinking that I’ll be retired soon and won’t be as busy as I am now. When I have nothing to do, making some food is a kind of enjoyment.”
Speaking of learning to cook, Ning Yue looked at Yun Duoduo and remembered something. She pulled Yun Duoduo and said, "Duoduo, why don't you teach me? Your mom says you cook really well."
Seeing Ning Yue's eager expression, Yun Duoduo smiled and nodded, "Okay, let me see what kind of food you have in your refrigerator."

These two dishes are really not difficult to make.

While Yun Duoduo was doing these things, Ning Yue watched the whole time, and even took notes of the steps in a small notebook. Her attitude of wanting to learn how to cook was much better than Ye Wenyue's.
Every time Ye Wenyue says she wants to learn, when it comes to actually being taught, she doesn't want to stay by the stove. This is why Ye Wenyue always says she wants to learn how to cook, but she doesn't make any progress at all.
While the pork ribs were stewing, the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law chatted for a while.
After dinner, Yun Duoduo glanced at her watch; it was almost one o'clock.
She knew that Yan Gusheng was being discharged from the hospital today. Since it would take some time to complete the discharge procedures in the morning, and Yan Junting had said he would be home around 2 o'clock, she estimated that he would be home around this time.
Yun Duoduo said to Ning Yue, "Mom, I have to go. Jun Ting and the others were discharged from the hospital today, and I estimate they'll be home by now."

Because cars were in short supply today, Yan Junting didn't drive; the three of them took the bus back.
Yan Junting carried Yan Gusheng off the bus and placed him in a wheelchair, while Wu Chunlan carried a pile of things in her hands.
Yun Duoduo immediately stepped forward and called out, "Dad, Mom, Junting, you're back! Why didn't you call a car? Why did you take the bus back?"
As she spoke, Yun Duoduo stepped forward and took some of the things from Wu Chunlan's hands.
Wu Chunlan smiled and said, "No need, a private car is too expensive. Junting said he wanted to call a car, but I didn't let him. The city buses are fine. If we were in the countryside, we would have come back by ourselves for such a short distance."
Yan Junting was sitting in a wheelchair. He had gotten used to using a wheelchair these past few days at the hospital, and he said with a smile, "Yes, I have this wheelchair, and it's convenient to push it around."
It's clear that since Yan Junting's identity was revealed, Wu Chunlan and Yan Gusheng have resolved their inner conflicts, and their relationship has improved significantly.

When they arrived at the shop, Wu Chunlan and Yan Gusheng saw the large sign outside that read "Yan Family General Store" and their eyes lit up with anticipation.
