Chapter 199 The Mystery Surrounding the Castle
"Have you heard that there are ghosts in that castle?"
Besides vampires, judging from what they encountered on the first night, there seemed to be something else hidden in the castle.
And it's most likely a ghost.
"I don't know, but everyone says there are vengeful spirits there."
Although there is no definite evidence, this speculation is not without reason.
Too many lives were lost in that castle, and quite a few of them died with resentment.
The castle itself is a gloomy place. When the blood moon appears at night, the castle will be directly exposed to the blood moon, which makes it very easy for vengeful spirits to arise.
"For details, you should wait until my grandfather comes back to ask." Ike said, scratching his head.
Charles's tangle wasn't well hidden. He knew what Ike wanted to ask, so he spoke confidently, "Don't worry, we're here to completely solve the castle's problem."
Upon hearing this, Ike showed surprise: "Are there a lot of experienced exorcists here?!"
It seems that senior exorcists have the highest level?
Lin Jiu thought silently.
Ivan shook his head at this point. He was honest: "No, there's only one."
Ike choked.
There is only one solution!!!
At this moment, Ivan suddenly stood up. His tall and strong body suddenly stood up, like a little giant in front of Ike, which scared Ike so much that he trembled.
"W-What happened?"
Ike thought that his behavior had upset Ivan.
Unexpectedly, Ivan took a big step and suddenly came to Lin Jiu's side and patted him twice.
Lin Jiu:?
"You may not trust us, but you can trust him!"
Charles nodded in agreement.
Ike had a look on his face that said, "What are you talking about?"
"I know you don't understand, but you just need to know that with him around, any problem can be solved with just one stroke!" Ivan said this with confidence.
Charles nodded vigorously to express his agreement with Ivan's words.
Only at this time did Charles feel from the bottom of his heart that Ivan was smart and what he said was so correct.
Ike looked puzzled.
If you were wearing the uniform of a senior exorcist, I wouldn't distrust you so much!
Lin Jiu held his forehead with his hand. He didn't ignore Ike's disbelief and said, "Ignore them."
As he said this, he pointed to his head.
This action clearly implies that Ike, Ivan and Charles have some mental problems.
Seeing this, Ike's mouth twitched.
Is it really okay to say this about your partner?
"Would it be convenient for me to ask another question?" Lin Jiu put down the empty cup and asked.
Ike nodded: "Ask me, I'll tell you everything I know!"
Although the three people in front of him were novice exorcists, Ike didn't want to give up as long as there was a glimmer of hope.
Lin Jiu nodded. "I want to know why the town didn't entrust the guild to solve the problem of the castle?"
Hearing this question, Ike was stunned for a moment.
Ivan nodded at this time, "Yes, aren't you afraid that the monsters in the castle will find you?"
"Of course I'm worried!" Ike explained, "The town has commissioned this several times before, but every time the exorcists came to investigate, they never found anything."
It's like the castle has a sense of self.
"Every time something happens, it happens after someone lives there."
Ike's words prompted Charles to consider a possibility: "Could it be that the castle's original owner didn't want anyone else to own it? Do you know what happened to the castle's original owner?"
Ike shook his head in confusion: "I don't know."
Charles nodded and wasn't upset that Ike didn't know.
The rules don't say what happened to the original owner of the castle, but everyone assumes that the original owner has passed away.
After all, it happened hundreds of years ago.
However, considering that the original owner mentioned in the legend was a vampire, some people think that the vampire may have left.
Both possibilities are quite likely.
Until Ike said, "That castle didn't belong to just one vampire in the beginning."
Although he didn't know where the original owner had gone, Ike knew that the castle was built by the original vampires hundreds of years ago.
Although no one knows to this day what their purpose was in coming here to build the castle, it is basically certain that they did not achieve their goal.
It seemed that was the beginning of the strange changes that began to happen to the castle.
"So, the most likely scenario is that he's dead?" Ivan slapped his thigh and jumped to conclusion, "Vampire Ghost, case solved!"
Charles was speechless. "It's too early for you to draw such a conclusion, Korifenski."
Ivan thought what he said made sense.
As expected, the two started arguing about this matter.
Ike looked at the two of them somewhat helplessly, and finally looked at Lin Jiu, who had his eyes lowered, not knowing what he was thinking.
"Um, um...is this really okay?"
Clearly, Charles seemed to be the most reliable at the beginning, but why is it that now the youngest Lin Jiu seems to be more reliable?
"It's okay, isn't this proof that we have a good relationship?"
Lin Jiu smiled and patted Ike's shoulder to reassure him.
The gentle smile made Ike blush. He nodded twice and said nothing more.
After dealing with Ike, Lin Jiu fell into thought again.
If the original owner wasn't just one vampire but a group, then what caused so many vampires to die? If the ghosts in the castle now are them, are they a single, resentful entity, or are they simply countless ghosts?
What is the problem with Mr. and Mrs. Smith?
There was no explanation for the housekeeper's problem either.
There were a lot of questions, but Lin Jiu was not in a hurry to find the answers. The game had only just begun the second day, and they had plenty of time to look for clues.
Thinking of this, Lin Jiu decided to go back to the castle first, and then come to see the mayor when it was their turn in two days.
But unexpectedly, the doorbell rang.
When Ike heard the sound, he immediately got up and opened the door.
Lin Jiu and his companions immediately stretched their necks to look over.
Standing at the door was a middle-aged man with a hunting rifle on his back. He was tall and had a hideous scar on his face.
"Uncle Tred." Ike greeted with a smile.
The man called Tred nodded. He raised his eyes and swept his sharp gaze over the three people sitting in the living room.
Charles and Ivan tensed instantly.
They noticed that this man named Tred was somewhat dangerous and very intimidating!
Lin Jiu didn't react at all. After taking a look, he asked Ike, "Who is this?"
Treed seemed to be attracted by Lin Jiu's different reaction, and his eyes fell on Lin Jiu, but the latter did not look at him again, which made him raise his eyebrows slightly.
Although Ike had just graduated, he was quite perceptive about his surroundings.
He maintained a natural posture and introduced Lin Jiu and the other two with a smile.
