My first diary entry.
Today is my first day here. The nun told me to be a good child and to follow church rules.
There are so many rules, I can't memorize them all.
The nun said that terrible things would happen if the rules were broken, but the new children often couldn't memorize them, so they posted the rules on the wall for the children to see.
I miss my mom and dad, but I know they'll never come back.
The nun lied to me, saying my parents had gone to a faraway place and would come back to take me away when I grew up. But I overheard them say that my parents were dead, murdered by some strange force.
I know what death is. My pet chick died, and it never moved again, and it started to smell worse and worse.

This afternoon, the nun led us in reading, and she praised me for recognizing many characters.

Judging from the first sentence of the second chapter, Yin Zhu tends to think that this is actually a "weekly journal" or even a "monthly journal," but that doesn't matter to Yin Zhu anymore, since these haunted house props may not even be real.
Some parts of the diary were torn out; I don't know if it was intentional or if the amusement park thought these contents were unimportant when setting up the exhibits.

The third diary entry.
The nun was very scared today and wouldn't let us leave the lounge.
I asked Pearl what had happened, and she whispered to me that she saw a big brother with a very nice voice come to church, but the nuns were afraid of him.
I ran over and told the nun not to be afraid, that I would beat him up when I grew up.
The nun said the older boy used to be a child here too, and he's here to see the priest. The priest told the nun to take us back inside and not to open the door to anyone until he arrived.
I asked the nun, "Is the big brother a bad person?"
The nun said he was the chosen one.
Does "Chosen One" mean a bad person? I haven't learned this word before, but the nun wouldn't explain it to me.
Pearl is right. These adults are too arrogant. They always think children don't understand anything, and under the guise of doing what's best for us, they don't tell us anything.
Even the nuns are like that!

The nun was very angry and forbade him from having any more contact with the child.

The nun chased him away, but I have a feeling he'll come back.
