Speaking of Mu Yunsheng's previous experience of exploring alone, it was nothing short of a nightmare for her.
Receiving a ticket to Daydream Amusement Park out of the blue was the beginning of a nightmare.
Upon entering the amusement park, she quickly became separated from her teammates amidst the sea of people, and had to check in alone. Mu Yunsheng's first choice was the log flume ride closest to the entrance; even if she survived by chance, she was unwilling to experience it a second time.
Feeling uncomfortable from being soaked to the bone after the rapids ride, Mu Yunsheng sunbathed for a while until he felt dry before preparing to move on to the next activity.
As Mu Yunsheng passed by the square, he saw a lot of spectators standing there. Curious, he went over to watch and unexpectedly encountered a performance of "It".
After being rescued by Wei Chuxing, she felt that he was her savior because of the suspension bridge effect.
He went to the restroom halfway through, and when he came back, he took her to two relatively safe amusement facilities.
For some reason, it was much safer than the log flume ride. Everything went so smoothly that Mu Yunsheng felt she had really found the right person to rely on. She was so lucky and was sure she would be able to leave the amusement park safely.
Finally, Wei Chuxing suggested, "Let's go to the roller coaster and the haunted house. Don't be fooled by their danger; once you clear them, you'll get two sign-in stamps, and you can leave the amusement park after you exit the haunted house."
"Don't you want to leave sooner?"
These words deeply moved Mu Yunsheng, so she readily agreed and unexpectedly encountered Yin Zhu, who was also preparing to ride the roller coaster.
What followed was a shared experience for the three of them: falling into the church. Wei Chuxing offered to lure away the killer clown, and she and Yin Zhu found a hidden passage leading to the villa area.
After being frightened by Yin Zhu with a mask, Mu Yunsheng was very dissatisfied and didn't even look at the newspaper Yin Zhu handed him, choosing to ignore Yin Zhu's behavior of going downstairs.
While the two were exploring the first and second floors respectively, Yin Zhu's voice suddenly came from the first floor.
"Yun Sheng!"
Mu Yunsheng quickly asked, "Are you alright?"
Having already lost Wei Chuxing, she didn't really want Yin Zhu to get into trouble too.
"It's alright, I'll bring some good stuff up later. By the way, did you find any clues to the next area?" Yin Zhu's voice sounded normal.
Mu Yunsheng immediately felt relieved and continued searching for an exit on the second floor, and soon discovered the secret of the study.
"Um..." She was about to go downstairs to call Yin Zhu when she suddenly realized that there had been no sound downstairs for a long time. Mu Yunsheng quickly went to the top of the stairs on the second floor and called out twice, but there was no response and no sign of Yin Zhu.
This made her panic again.
Could she have encountered some danger? Is the danger still on the first floor? Has she gone up to the second floor?
As Mu Yunsheng struggled with his decision, time ticked by, and suddenly a creaking sound came from the villa's entrance.
Are they the people in the second group?
Mu Yunsheng, her face beaming with delight, tried to run downstairs, but before she could take her first step, she heard a familiar yet terrifying laugh: "Hehehe—where are you—"
It's the Joker!
Mu Yunsheng quickly covered her mouth to avoid attracting his attention with her screams.
What should we do? Should we continue waiting for Yin Zhu?
Forget it, she might already be dead. My own survival is more important right now. In a flash, Mu Yunsheng made a decision and went directly from the study to the next area.
Like Yin Zhu, the moment she pushed open the yellow door, she also saw the mascots staring at her.
Unfortunately, this time she was holding onto the door with one hand and the wall with the other, so she didn't have a third hand to cover her mouth. She just yelled, "Ah—!"
Mu Yunsheng rushed into the office, and in his panic, he randomly chose a direction and rushed into a restroom stall.
Before she could calm down, the clown's humming began to echo throughout the office area. Fortunately, this time the clown's voice quickly disappeared, as if his target wasn't her, but rather another area.
Relieved, Mu Yunsheng suddenly heard a voice above her: "Little sister, do you need some tissues?"
Stiffly raising his head, he saw a small old woman with a wrinkled face leaning over the partition, peeking out and looking at Mu Yunsheng. One hand was gripping the edge of the partition, while the other hand stretched out its dry, bony form, trying to hand Mu Yunsheng a roll of toilet paper printed with a paper money pattern.
"No...no need!"
Mu Yunsheng stumbled out of the restroom, not daring to look back at the little old lady with the eerie smile, and returned to his office.
The mannequins here are no longer looking at her; they're all at their workstations, intently working on their computers that aren't even plugged in. In a sea of occupied seats, that empty workstation stands out starkly against its surroundings.
After a moment's thought, Mu Yunsheng cautiously walked over and looked at the various items on the table.
"This is... a photograph?"
Compared to the paper under the keyboard, the photos on the table are undoubtedly more eye-catching.
There are several people in the photo, but like an empty desk, the man who isn't smiling stands out among a group of smiling people.
"This is... Chu Xing Ge?"
Mu Yunsheng felt his pupils dilate in shock; he never expected to see such a photograph here.
Looking back now, Wei Chuxing's many heroic rescues were indeed strange. The clown was clearly afraid of the red-clad employee, yet he, wearing a blue employee uniform, was able to drive the clown away. He had worked there before, but after entering the haunted house, he pretended to be unfamiliar with it...
