Yin Zhu and the killer clown made such a commotion that none of the tourists who were pretending to be dead fell asleep, but no one dared to move, just waiting for the two to fight it out so that the third could benefit.
Upon hearing Yin Zhu no longer conceal her murderous intent, the clown immediately sensed something was amiss.
The conflict between the two was brief and theoretically still constituted a violation of the rule of "tourists assaulting employees." However, the rules did not provide the appropriate accusations for the killer clowns, and this unpleasant feeling was exactly the same as when I encountered them in the square.
It seems that the original rule was persuaded by another rule, and thus its implementation was suspended.
That's why amusement park managers hate "chosen ones" the most. With these rule-breaking visitors who don't get punished, it's impossible for everyone to have a good time.
However, the clown did not show any fear; instead, he clutched his stomach and laughed loudly.
"Hahaha—you want to kill—me?"
"Kill me—ha ha—you won't get out either—"
"Your future—only leads to—death!"
Watching the clown's performance quietly, Yin Zhu suddenly thought of something: "You need to perform 'It' outside regularly, right? If the time comes and you can't leave, wouldn't that be a violation of the rules? And what would your punishment be?"
The clown's exaggerated movements suddenly stopped.
The next second, Yin Zhu clearly saw the clown's painted smile transform into a dejected expression at a visible speed: "Waaah—I won't—tell you! You—big bad guy—"
Taking advantage of everyone's inattention, the clown suddenly jumped up and rushed out of the morgue, showing no intention of retrieving his knife.
Yin Zhu felt a twitch in her right eyelid and immediately patted Mu Yunsheng's bed: "Let's go!"
"What?"
“Let’s follow the killer clown out!” Yin Zhu glanced at the knife in her hand. “He’s unarmed now, which is the safest situation for him. We can just follow him out!”
Without further explanation, Yin Zhu chased after the clown in the direction he had left.
Whether other tourists choose to believe it or not is their own choice, and Yin Zhu has already done more than enough in this regard. She has no obligation to interfere with other people's choices.
The clown ran very fast, but the funeral home was a very open place, and his footsteps could be heard from a great distance.
Yin Zhu chased the killer clown straight into the mourning hall.
The funeral hall is located at the end of the visitor passage, in the exact opposite direction from the morgue, next to a very old cemetery.
The killer clown arrived at the funeral parlor, lifted the lid of the coffin placed in the center of the parlor, and jumped inside.
However, Yin Zhu did not follow along. She strolled around the mourning hall at ease and immediately noticed a black and white portrait placed directly in front of the coffin.
The portrait belonged to a young, inexperienced boy who looked nothing like Wei Chuxing.
Suddenly, the eyes in the portrait moved.
Those shy eyes now turned cold and sharp, staring straight at Yin Zhu, and at first glance, they looked a bit slanted.
This scene is very strange, but...
"This seems a bit insulting to the people of China..."
Yin Zhu found it hard not to make this connection, after all, before the arrival of the strange world on Earth, the people of the New World would always deliberately make their eyes look like this when mocking the people of the Dragon Kingdom or even the people of the Eastern Continent.
This fully demonstrates their ignorance, arrogance, and rudeness.
Somewhat speechless, Yin Zhu glanced at the portrait and then began searching for other strange things around her.
Looking at it this way, there are many strange things in the mourning hall.
Wreaths, white candles, crosses, coffins, talismans, salt, glutinous rice, silver daggers... This is a collection of supernatural props from ancient and modern times, both Chinese and foreign.
When Yin Zhu was young and naive, she enjoyed watching horror game livestreams, which gave her a good understanding of the horror customs of different countries. For example, in Japan, people like to use salt for exorcism; vampires in the Old World are afraid of garlic and crosses, and werewolves are afraid of silver daggers; and China has many more exorcism tools, such as glutinous rice, talisman paper, peach wood, and black dog blood...
However, the sight of such a hodgepodge of things in the mourning hall made Yin Zhu feel as if it were a smokescreen.
The meaning behind these things is meant to make tourists think deeply and feel uneasy. Seeing all this will naturally make tourists think that there is something very scary in the coffin, thus giving up the idea of opening the coffin and missing the way out.
The haunted house in Sin City is different from those in the outside world. While tourists from outside the city dare to explore boldly, the people of Sin City only proceed with caution, seeking neither success nor failure.
This can be considered a counterintuitive approach to puzzle design.
So logically speaking, the place the Joker left was indeed the way he left.
If these four areas are interconnected, then the exit from the haunted house should indeed be an extra place. In addition, if tourists cannot leave after entering the fourth area, they will naturally attract the clown over time. In order to survive, the tourists will hide in the morgue in the staff passage opposite to the tourist passage.
Yin Zhu's only uncertainty was that she clearly remembered falling down, and logically the exit should be at the top, so why was the exit still a downward path?
"Should we give it a try?"
Yin Zhu pondered as she circled the coffin, not daring to go in rashly, mainly because she was afraid that the clown would plot against her.
Yin Zhu took out her phone and glanced at the time. In fact, there were still almost forty minutes before the clown's next performance. She immediately understood the situation, closed the coffin, moved some things to weigh it down, and finally sat on it.
Seeing Mu Yunsheng following behind, Yin Zhu waved her hand: "Come on, let's put down the coffin together."
...
The clown, hiding in the coffin's secret passage, waited for ten minutes but didn't see Yin Zhu come down. When he tried to leave the coffin, he found he couldn't open it.
