As soon as Yin Zhu entered the lobby, she saw four employees busy at work.
One person sat at their workstation, seemingly checking reports on their computer; another ran around carrying a large stack of papers, as if printing flyers; another was engrossed in a game, completely unaware of Yin Zhu entering the room; and yet another stood next to the first person, looking distressed, hoping she could help them solve their problem.
The man who was running around noticed Yin Zhu first, turned his head and shouted towards the workstation, "Hong Xigua, someone's here!" Then he went back to doing his own thing.
The woman called Hong Xigua was a hardworking woman. Upon hearing the man's voice, she pushed aside the person standing next to her and said, "Lu Youqi, don't get in my way."
Yin Zhu walked towards the two of them: "Hello, I'm a new employee. Xiao Tu asked me to report here."
Hong Xigua was taken aback: "Aren't you here to stay?"
"Am I so young? Do I look like someone who would come here to retire?" Yin Zhu retorted.
"That's true."
Hong Xigua didn't dwell on the issue and directly handed Yin Zhu a form: "Fill this out, and I'll make you a work badge. Remember to carry it with you at all times. If you lose it, go find that guy to get a replacement." She was referring to the guy who played the game.
Lu Youqi stood to the side with his arms crossed, and suddenly asked, "Have you eaten in the cafeteria?"
Not understanding why he asked that, Yin Zhu nodded in bewilderment: "Food is essential for life. You'll get hungry if you don't eat. The reason I brought forward my plan to come to the nursing home was because the temporary apartment no longer provides meals, so I had to come here to mooch a meal."
Lu Youqi glanced at Yin Zhu mysteriously and whispered to her, "Never eat the food from the old people's window, because you don't have their medicine."
What is that?
While filling out the form and listening to Lu Youqi's words, Yin Zhu suspected that the question mark in her head was about to materialize.
"Don't scare the little girl." Hong Xigua glared at him, took Yin Zhu's form, quickly made a tag with Yin Zhu's name on it, and handed it back to her: "You're officially starting work today. Our job isn't complicated. You just need to be polite, courteous, and care for the elderly."
“Our working hours are 8:00 to 18:00. You’re not working in the cafeteria; your work location is the activity center. You’ll work at least six hours a day. You can be late or leave early, but don’t arrive early or leave late to avoid violating the curfew,” Lu Youqi added.
Are there any additional employee guidelines to follow?
Having endured the persecution at the kindergarten, Yin Zhu wouldn't be surprised if they produced a 100,000-word "Employee Code of Conduct for the Sin City Nursing Home."
However, the city lord's nursing home is clearly not going to take this torturous route; on the contrary, it reduces as much as possible.
"Yes, but you'll have to figure it out yourself..."
Before Lu Youqi could finish speaking, Hong Xigua gave him a hard shove: "Don't talk nonsense. Give Hao Sun a copy of [that]. We're all colleagues. The fewer people who get into trouble before the sacrificial performance, the better."
So Lu Youqi left feeling wronged.
Hong Xigua was just about to continue working when Yin Zhu interrupted him: "Um, is the sacrificial performance really that important?"
I've heard this name so many times, it's hard not to care.
