Taking a deep breath, Yin Zhu entered the corridor once again.
Before leaving, she glanced back at her room number, wanting to confirm whether the number would change once she left the room.
In Yin Zhu's eyes, the license plate had indeed changed.
It has not only changed, but it is constantly changing. Just like a lottery, you never know what you've drawn until the numbers are drawn.
Not only were the room numbers changing, but Yin Zhu also noticed that the location she was in when she came out was different from the location she had entered last time. In other words, as the room number changed, the person inside was actually constantly changing their location as well. Only at the moment of exiting could you determine exactly where you were.
Yin Zhu placed her hand on the doorknob, turned it, and pushed it open, her eyes fixed on the door number. The moment the door opened, she saw the number stop scrolling and land on "[Room B19]", confirming the room's exact location.
"This is a bit troublesome..."
An action takes a considerable amount of time, and repeatedly refreshing it in the corridor can easily lead to danger.
Yin Zhu gripped the broom tightly and began running quickly down the corridor, searching for a hospital map or signs for different departments. Since the room numbers only displayed numbers, even if Yin Zhu accidentally drew a doctor's office number, she wouldn't know where it was.
Suddenly, Yin Zhu felt a darkness behind her, turned around abruptly, and realized it wasn't her imagination—
The ceiling lights behind me were indeed off.
The thought of the eerie figure in the darkness sent shivers down Yin Zhu's spine. She tried to run faster, her peripheral vision quickly scanning the room numbers on both sides. Suddenly, her gaze sharpened as she saw the sign that read "Doctor's Office."
Does this thing called "emotion" not even have a house number?
Yin Zhu suddenly understood why the think tank hadn't told her the address: because the place was originally called the doctor's office!
However, just as Yin Zhu was about to run forward a few steps, the overhead lights in both the front and back areas went out simultaneously. Only the small area above Yin Zhu's head remained lit, as if darkness had trapped her in the middle.
"I must find a room to go in quickly, otherwise if the light above my head goes out again, I will have nowhere to escape."
Yin Zhu thought to herself.
She approached the ward next to her with its flashing numbers, gripped the broom tightly, and casually broke off a section of bamboo, ready to go in and refresh the location at any moment.
"Smack."
The lights in front and behind did not turn off; instead, they turned on again.
This time, however, two humanoid but bloodied, mangled flesh-like objects appeared in front of and behind Yin Zhu, directly below the two previous lights, seemingly blocking all the way.
Just wait until the lights go out—
With lightning speed, Yin Zhu threw the bamboo branch at the humanoid monster in front of her. The bamboo branch passed right through the monster, just like a Taoist priest from Maoshan who could pass through walls in an animation. Seeing that the monster didn't react at all, Yin Zhu immediately turned and ran, heading straight for the doctor's office.
The humanoid monster finally moved, trying to stop Yin Zhu, but only saw Yin Zhu flash past it with an all-knowing smile, and it couldn't even grab a shred of her clothes.
After all, the eerie is a spiritual entity.
If bamboo can pass through it, then so can the yam bamboo.
As long as she's not afraid, she's the strongest. Regardless of whether they're stronger in the darkness, they can't harm her in the slightest under the light!
Yin Zhu turned the handle and went straight into the doctor's office, ignoring the two strange human figures behind her.
Like all the wards, the doctor's office had its lights on. However, just as Bablu had seen before, the office Yin Zhu entered was also empty. Neat white coats hung on the walls, a few lamps were placed in the corner, and some lighters were on the table.
Why is no one in this room?
Because the message from the think tank didn't mention this point, Yin Zhu sensed something was off the moment she entered.
Doctors can't be performing surgeries all the time. Given Yin Zhu's stay in the nursing home, she's lucky if she gets to call a doctor once every three days. They should be having a pretty easy time.
But the empty office and the white coats moving without wind seemed to be hinting at something.
Yin Zhu didn't want to waste any more time here, so she didn't think about the problem in detail. She just took a lantern and a lighter from the corner and prepared to leave immediately.
Just as Yin Zhu placed her hand on the doorknob, the alarm bell behind her suddenly rang.
"Ring ring ring—Room B19—Ring ring ring—"
It seems a patient in one of the wards pressed the call button by their bedside, needing a doctor to come and help.
Then, Yin Zhu saw with her own eyes a white coat hanging on the wall begin to inflate, fall off, and from it "grow" a doctor-like figure—with wavy hair.
Yin Zhu blinked, her mind racing as she considered what the other person would do and how she should respond.
The doctor with the wavy hair also noticed Yin Zhu, and narrowed her eyes slightly: "You saw it?"
Yin Zhu nodded subconsciously and said, "That's right, doesn't the rule say I can't watch you perform the magic trick? And the rule doesn't say I can't borrow things from the doctor's office, does it?"
These two questions startled Dr. Wavy Hair.
However, it didn't take long before the doctor with the wavy hair realized something and continued to exude a dangerous aura: "Do you know Article 23 of the Patient Rules? [Please do not wander between wards unless absolutely necessary. The hospital will not be responsible for any danger that may occur.] Guess where the danger comes from?"
"I don't know," Yin Zhu shook her head innocently. "Besides, people visit each other to chat. I came to borrow something, not to chat with you. Moreover, I visited the doctor's office, not the ward. Furthermore, if a patient has been ringing the bell for ages, wouldn't it be dereliction of duty if you didn't go?"
