Footsteps suddenly echoed in the quiet library.
Yin Zhu, engrossed in reading, suddenly looked up and saw someone walk into the library.
"Well……"
The book can be read later, but this person needs to be paid a little more attention.
Yin Zhu held "The Founding of Vena City" up to her face, her eyes furtively peering through the book at the person who entered. This person was dressed fairly neatly and cleanly, similar to the previous group of children; judging from their clothing, they were probably not a high-ranking citizen.
That said, this should be the border between the trade zone and the outer city. Will any high-ranking citizens come here?
Given the rules at the entrance, unless someone like Yin Zhu has special abilities and really wants to get something from the library, generally speaking, no one should come to the library.
Therefore, Yin Zhu did not rule out the possibility that the other party was also a chosen one.
The person who came in was a man with a small mustache, about thirty years old, who looked quite like an indigenous person. He showed a panicked expression after entering the library, as if he did not want to come in.
Does this library possess some kind of magic?
Is this only happening in this library, or will it happen in other parts of this instance as well?
As Yin Zhu deduced this, she suddenly felt something was wrong: Could this dungeon force her to complete all the side quests? For example, what if she was just passing through, but was forcibly sucked into a side quest?
No, that's impossible.
Yin Zhu was very clear that she had entered the library voluntarily and there was absolutely no external interference.
Just as Yin Zhu was scaring herself, the person walked over with a rather thin fairy tale book, even looking at the woman sitting on the table with a strange expression.
Huh? Yin Zhu looked down at the ground and saw that all the water was gone, as clean as if there had never been any water at all.
"The drainage system in this library is really good." Yin Zhu remembered the rule and couldn't help but nod in agreement. So much water, drained so quickly. Maybe you can even find shiny, new-looking oil paper packages in the sewers here.
"What?" The man with the mustache was surprised to hear Yin Zhu say something so abruptly.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ask why you came to the library? What kind of books are you looking for? I've been here for a while, I can give you some suggestions."
Although Yin Zhu was enthusiastic in her words, she still tried to control her volume to avoid being accused of making a loud noise.
However, in a cold city, in a strange library, it always feels suspicious when someone is overly enthusiastic towards you. The man with the mustache clearly sensed something was amiss and awkwardly declined Yin Zhu's invitation with an embarrassed smile.
"No...no need..."
"Ah, what a pity." Yin Zhu was a little disappointed, but remembering the strange thing that had just happened to her, she told the man, "I don't like to hear any noise when I'm reading. I hope you don't have reading difficulties and are reading to yourself." Her eyes suddenly turned cold: "If I hear you talking to yourself while you're reading, don't blame me for hitting you."
"No...no way!"
The man with the mustache was so frightened that he quickly agreed, grabbed the book, and ran away from Yin Zhu to start reading the fairy tale.
Looking at the book with the mustache, Yin Zhu frowned.
She didn't think that in a fast-paced city, adults would have the leisure to come to the library specifically to read children's fairy tales.
It's fine if the other party doesn't say anything, but if they do...
Then I'll have to teach that mustache a lesson, after all, I just learned some grappling techniques!
Yin Zhu was quite confident that he wouldn't embarrass his master. Now, "everything is ready except for the east wind," and he was just waiting for the neighbor with the mustache to make a mistake so that he could obediently come to his door.
Yin Zhu half-heartedly read another dozen pages, and seeing that the little mustache had almost finished reading half of the fairy tale book, yet still nothing happened, it was Yin Zhu's turn to be unable to hold back any longer: Where's the eeriness? Where's the dream god? Where's the unspeakable? Haven't you all made any move?
Hurry up and do something productive, the sooner you die, the sooner you'll be reborn!
Yin Zhu wasn't looking for death, but the current silence made him feel that something big was brewing behind the scenes, and this was just the calm before the storm.
"Gurgle—"
Since coming into this world, Yin Zhu had never eaten anything else, and now her stomach began to rumble.
Rubbing her stomach, Yin Zhu put down her book. Next to this reading and rest area was a vending machine containing four items: bread, jerky, and two different liquids—two drinks and two food items.
The vending machine doesn't have a cash register; it only has a sensor area.
Yin Zhu placed the back of her hand, which had been implanted with the Benevolent Spirit, against the system. The system beeped, and a bottle of beverage immediately dropped out. The electronic screen next to her displayed, "Deduction successful. Your balance is 73.4 Vena Coins."
"But I haven't made a choice yet..."
Yin Zhu was quite disgusted by these blind box vending machines. She hated gacha games more than anything in her life, especially after she had once again guaranteed a reward, which made her dislike double.
Helplessly bending down, Yin Zhu took out a bottle of... yellow liquid from the basket at the bottom of the vending machine.
"I seem to remember that they said here they don't serve alcohol?"
Yin Zhu stared at the yellow liquid in her hand, examining it closely, but couldn't find anything particularly noteworthy. The two bottles were identical, both produced by a company called "Galaxy."
The company name sounds nice, but the product's appearance is less than flattering.
Yin Zhu shook the bottle of water vigorously and went straight to the librarian. He placed the water on the service counter and asked, "Is this mineral water? Won't this color give me diarrhea?"
