If it were Yin Zhu entering the instance for the first time, she would definitely choose to leave directly with Mary's family.
This stupid dungeon is better left unexplored.
But remembering her promise to Hirano Sane, Yin Zhu hesitated for a moment and finally suppressed the idea of finding a way to leave directly, but she didn't forget to leave herself a way out: "Can I let my sister leave with you?"
Yin Zhu hadn't forgotten the story setting she had created.
As if she had anticipated her words, Mary's mother showed no surprise and nodded: "Of course."
"I...I want to ask my sister tomorrow."
"Okay, give me an answer by tomorrow night."
Considering that everyone has their own ambitions, Yin Zhu did not make a decision for the other chosen ones directly, but planned to tell the others the news tomorrow.
If they were willing to leave with Mary's parents, Yin Zhu naturally wouldn't stop them.
In a way, Yin Zhu and Zoe are actually the same kind of person, both being inherently "independent." The difference is that, in order to adapt to the network-based society of China, Yin Zhu restrains her "independence," forces herself to consider other people's thoughts, and doesn't often show that she doesn't care about others.
Zoe, on the other hand, simply stopped pretending after becoming the Chosen One, becoming a complete lone wolf in the mystery dungeons, and even in group dungeons, she wouldn't want to find anyone else.
In fact, Yin Zhu's decision not to leave the instance directly was not solely due to Hirano Shan's reasons.
First and foremost, it is certain that a trustworthy person must be left behind to provide cover for Mary's family. Therefore, even if Mary's family is willing to take others with them, at least one person needs to stay behind.
If it were anyone else, Mary's family might not have trusted them.
Secondly, Yin Zhu had a feeling that things weren't that simple. If this ordinary ending was a wrong guess, it wouldn't be so easy for him to return to Vina City if he was wanted by the authorities.
Finally, we must return to the promise between Yin Zhu and Ping Ye Shan.
Yin Zhu hopes that Blue Star can return to normal, so he attaches great importance to Hirano Shan's opinion. Perhaps due to the unspeakable gaze, Hirano Shan can't say much, like a riddle, but Yin Zhu can still extract a lot of useful information from it.
Hirano Sane doesn't like Earth, doesn't like the Cherry Blossom Country, and doesn't like humans, but Yin Zhu does.
Strictly speaking, Yin Zhu's love was never some kind of illusory concept.
She loves her parents who raised her, her classmates who played with her in school, the strangers who kindly gave her directions when she got lost on the street, the cleaning staff who worked diligently every day, and the upperclassmen who lent a hand when they saw her carrying big bags to her dormitory...
She admires the farmers and workers who provide the city with all kinds of daily necessities, the aunties who give her kind smiles when they sell things at the door, the hardworking animators who realize their animation dreams, and the interesting anime they create with their own hands...
Those people are countless individuals who showed Yin Zhu a great deal of kindness, which together constituted the country that Yin Zhu loves.
Yin Zhu once encountered a thief and lost her living expenses. She didn't dare tell her parents. Her friend Ruan Tiantian awkwardly shared half of her meal with her, claiming that she was on a diet and couldn't eat.
Yin Zhu had also experienced school bullying. Her deskmate brought the homeroom teacher to protect her. When those bad kids turned the tables on her in front of her parents, it was a bookish classmate who usually didn't like to cause trouble who testified for her, proving that she was the victim who was being bullied.
Yin Zhu's parents used to favor sons over daughters, even willing to pay fines to have a son, but ended up having four daughters in a row. However, the parents soon realized the reality after a relative tried to take advantage of them; after all, daughters were their own flesh and blood, and it was better than letting other people's boys benefit from them.
From then on, the Yin couple treated each of their daughters very well, caring for them, loving them, and fearing they would be deceived by scumbags. They even later told Yin Zhu's eldest sister:
"Whether you have a partner or not doesn't matter, as long as you have children. You're the most business-savvy person in our family, and you're the right person to inherit your father's business. If your parents pass away early, you'll have to take good care of your younger sisters for us."
Yin Zhu has never encountered human traffickers, but that doesn't stop her parents and the news from telling her again and again that she must protect herself, that bad people have many ways of doing things, and that this society is very dangerous.
Good memories, bad memories... countless experiences intertwined have shaped Yin Zhu into the personality she is today.
There have always been many bad people on Earth, but good people don't have to die with them.
This is Yin Zhu's way.
The next morning.
As usual, Yin Zhu had breakfast with Mary, studied for a while, and after lunch, told Mary that she was going out before slowly returning to the poor people's apartment.
When we arrived at the poor people's apartment, the sun was setting in the west, and the misty city of Vinna was bathed in an ambiguous golden light.
Hirano Shan was somewhat surprised by Yin Zhu's sudden return: "Didn't you say you were going to stay for a week? Why are you back so soon? Did some unforeseen accident occur?"
Barring any unforeseen circumstances, Hirano Sane doesn't think Yin Zhu will return so soon.
"Because I miss you."
Yin Zhu chuckled and joked, carrying a small cake she had bought on her way back after taking a detour. It wasn't cheap; it cost her almost two-thirds of her salary.
After all, cakes are a well-known example of overcharging.
Desserts, aside from being aesthetically pleasing and satisfying the appetite, have few other advantages. They are complicated to make, time-consuming and laborious, expensive, and easy to cause weight gain, so it's better to eat meat.
But it looks appealing and contains a lot of sugar.
