Chapter 341 The Mad Ghost

"Is it a spider lily?"

Immediately, her expression changed drastically, and she abruptly took two or three steps back: "Throw it away quickly! This thing is harmful to us; it will cause us to go berserk and eventually die from exhaustion."

Yin Zhu was several meters away from her, and already understood why she was afraid of the spider lily. She quickly threw it out of the house and patted the residue off her sleeves.

The cat breathed a sigh of relief and nervously approached Yin Zhu, complaining, "Didn't I tell you not to touch the spider lily? It's poisonous. Why won't you listen? If I touch it, you'll be dead."

When the cat demon made a pretentious and fierce statement, Yin Zhu patted its fur indifferently and said, "I know, I just noticed that these flowers have grown into the neighbor's yard."

"What?" The cat's fur stood on end again.

"Take me to see this quickly!" The cat pushed Yin Zhu with its paw again, and because it was too anxious, it didn't stop its strength and almost made her fall over.

Afterwards, Yin Zhu took her to the vicinity of the victim's neighbor's house.

Next door lived an ordinary humanoid monster, with nothing particularly strange about it except for its long tail and lizard webbed feet. At this moment, the yard was full of red spider lilies, and a large sea of flowers shimmering with red light illuminated the entire building in red.

The walls inside the courtyard appeared to be sprayed with an unidentified, multicolored liquid, which even left a long trail on the wall.

"That's strange, there weren't so many flowers just now..."

When Yin Zhu last visited, the flowers were less than a tenth of what they are now, but now, the dense clusters of spider lilies in the yard have created a veritable ocean.

The cat covered its mouth and nose again, and then covered Yin Zhu's mouth with its other hand: "Something's wrong, let's go home first."

Pulling and dragging Yin Zhu back to her house, the cat then rushed to the yard and fished the kappa out of the family pond: "Stop soaking it! It's an emergency! Family meeting!"

Yin Zhu, who was following behind, did not forget to scoop a spoonful of water with a wooden ladle and went into the house to fill the kappa's cup.

"You're a really nice girl, but I won't thank you." Kappa rolled his eyes at Yin Zhu, straightened his clothes, and looked at Nekomata with a puzzled expression: "What's wrong?"

"Do you remember that guy next door? The one who rolls around in his own yard when no one's around."

The cat then pointed in the direction of the victim's neighbor's house.

The kappa nodded, looking completely bewildered.

"For some reason, spider lilies grew in his yard, and he inhaled too much pollen and went crazy." The cat's face was terrible. "I just took the little girl to see him, and we found that he climbed out of the wall. I don't know if he went hunting."

Yin Zhu knew why the spider lilies were growing next door, but she was too embarrassed to say anything.

"It's alright, Lord Shuten-dōji will handle it." The kappa said nonchalantly, pouring himself a small cup of sake and slowly saying, "Although it's dangerous that he's lost his mind, we also have a page of a diary at home. The scent of that thing will make him ignore us, and no one will break in."

Yin Zhu lowered her head, not daring to utter a sound.

The kappa habitually looked towards where the diary was, then suddenly paused, startled: "Where's the diary?"

The cat and the kappa both looked at Yin Zhu at the same time, only to be met with a blank expression from Yin Zhu as she looked up: "I don't know."

The cat, who was always sticking close to Yin Zhu, quickly ruled out Yin Zhu as a suspect. It scratched its head with its paw and thought of a suspicious person: "It should be the guy who wrote the new rules. After he broke into our house and left that note, he also stole our diary and went next door to start raising Gu."

Oh no, the cat guessed it perfectly again.

Yin Zhu lowered her head in sorrow, deeply reflecting on how much trouble her reckless behavior had caused the indigenous people.

"So what's this guy after?"

The kappa stopped drinking leisurely and instead held the wine cup with trembling hands, taking small sips of wine with a heart full of fear: "Did that incident really happen again?"

"What is it?" Yin Zhu immediately perked up her ears.

The kappa shook his head: "I don't remember. It was a long time ago, before that diary was broken. I only remember that many demons died back then, and in the end, Shuten-dōji ended the chaos and was therefore crowned the King of a Hundred Demons."

The cat glanced at the kappa with mixed feelings, but did not interrupt.

“If you want to know more… you can ask the cat to take you to ask Lady Aoandon.” The kappa paused. “Lady Aoandon has more memories because she can connect to the human world.”

"And what about you? I took her away, and you got eaten by that crazed guy here. Do you expect me to come back and collect your corpse?"

Although it's not a matter of love or not, the cat still has some affection for this little monster who's good at cooking.

At least I couldn't bear to see him in danger.

"Me? I'll just go stay at someone else's house. Unless it's a powerful demon of your level going berserk, do you think I'm just going to stand there and wait to be torn apart?"

The kappa waved its hand, clearly indicating that it had already planned its escape route.

Since it was all her own fault, Yin Zhu scratched her head and came up with a solution: "But... the diary next door is covered in flowers, so we can just take the diary out."

Kappa looked at Yin Zhu and suddenly gave her a thumbs up: "You're a genius."

The cat smiled indulgently and patted Yin Zhu's head: "But, that courtyard is full of flowers, so there must have been a monster that died there. If we go there now, we will easily inhale the pollen and lose control."

Yin Zhu immediately covered her mouth and nose with her clothes, and her voice was muffled: "That's good!"

The cat paused for a moment, then burst into laughter: "You're quite clever. This will indeed prevent you from inhaling pollen. But there's still a problem: we don't know where the diary is."
