A giant lizardman was perched on the wall, blood and bits of flesh still clinging to its mouth.
They were about to devour Yin Zhu.
"Swoosh—"
He stuck out his tongue again, but Yin Zhu dodged it, and he only managed to scoop up a few spider lilies and put them in his mouth.
Yin Zhu clutched the diary she had finally obtained, not expecting the cat to cross the sea of spider lilies and come to her rescue in time.
Yin Zhu will save herself.
"Have you eaten the flower? The spider lily."
Yin Zhu was talking to a fool, and he didn't expect any answer from him at all, because the lizardman's muscles were already tense, and he seemed to be preparing to pounce on Yin Zhu.
"Then let's add one more clause for now."
Yin Zhu smiled contemptuously, his pupils turning golden in an instant: "It is forbidden to eat the spider lily. It is highly poisonous and will gradually cause the tongue to stiffen, vomiting, cold limbs, shock, and eventually paralysis and death."
The lizardman wouldn't listen to any of this.
His mind had been completely consumed by his endless killing intent, leaving only the instinct to attack and hunt.
Seeing that the distance was too far and he had failed to attack Yin Zhu, the lizardman tried to get closer. However, as he tried to move his limbs, his stiff body caused him to fall off the wall, his head hitting the ground, and he ended up eating another big mouthful of spider lilies.
His instinct to eat made him swallow, bringing him one step closer to death.
The sudden paralysis caused the lizardman immense pain. His eyes widened, but he could only watch as the little girl in the black kimono turned and left, remaining as calm as a grim reaper.
Yin Zhu went outside, patted her clothes for a long time to shake off the pollen, and then told Mao You with a smile:
"Look, I got my diary back."
"Didn't you bump into that guy?" The cat had already seen him, but she didn't dare to go over.
Just as the cat was agonizing over whether "if I don't go now, will the Bamboo Cutter already be dead?" and "if I go and go berserk, the Bamboo Cutter will surely die," Yin Zhu emerged completely unharmed.
"I bumped into him," Yin Zhu replied with a smile. "But I've regained some of my memories, so he's no match for me."
The cat looked Yin Zhu up and down for a while with some suspicion, but couldn't see any difference between her and before. However, it said, "It's good that you're alright. Let's go home. The kappa was almost scared to death just now."
Yin Zhu then noticed that the kappa had also come out.
"Hmph, I'm not worried about her at all." The kappa turned his head away. "I'm just afraid that if she dies in there, the flowers will grow even more lush—given the current situation, I'm afraid we can only ask Lady Yuki-onna to freeze this courtyard."
"Yuki-onna..." the cat hesitated for a moment, "We can send Shiranui instead, she can just burn everything to ashes."
The rest is not something Yin Zhu needs to worry about.
Back home, Yin Zhu respectfully placed the diary on a plate, along with a plate of dried fruit and a plate of biscuits, and bowed to it.
Nekomata: ...There's no need for that.
At this point, the controversy caused by this diary has basically subsided.
Yin Zhu had to take the diary seriously at this point—without the diary, she might be attacked; with one diary, she could manage; but with two or more diaries, there would be other dangers.
This may be the "Doctrine of the Mean" in the ghost realm.
However, none of this has anything to do with your new god—Lord Yin Zhu! Yin Zhu, suddenly suffering from chuunibyou, returned to his room, took out the rules he had written, and began to write them based on the new information.
Each word on the paper emitted a faint golden light as Yin Zhu stroked it:
New Rules for the Ghost Realm
When you see this rule, you should know that the Ghost Realm has been dormant for too long, and it's time for a reshuffle. The new rules will allow you to become stronger, regain your pre-seal power, until the Gates of Ghosts open and all ghosts return to the human world.
This was just empty promises made by Yin Zhu in an attempt to persuade the ghosts to follow the rules.
[1. All beings should have their own permanent dwelling in the ghost realm; only food that is not protected is homeless.]
2. Remember your real name, but do not tell anyone, or you will bear the consequences.
3. Do not stare up at the night sky.
If you stare at it for too long, you'll realize that you're just inside a box, that the night sky is nothing but a false wallpaper, and that you're suffering from mental pollution.
4. Ghosts may appear in any form. Do not show surprise no matter what kind of ghost you see. Remain calm when you see your own kind so that you can judge their state.
If the other party's eyes are bloodshot and they appear to be in an aggressive state, quickly move away and seek help from nearby ghosts or spirits.
This was actually just something Yin Zhu wrote randomly based on rabies, but unexpectedly it turned out to be very similar to the symptoms of the spider lily.
5. When you encounter other monsters on the street, make sure that the distance between you is more than 2 meters.
Remember your house number, confirm it's correct before entering, and do not enter other monsters' homes without permission.
This echoes the previous point.
6. There are no electronic products in the ghost realm. If you vaguely hear strange telephone ringing, do not be curious and try to find the source of the sound.
7. In the Ghost Realm, only mechanical products exist, made by the clockmaker at the village entrance, and each product is engraved with the clockmaker's unique symbol.
If you unexpectedly acquire mechanical products of unknown origin, please place them at the entrance, not inside your home.
These two points are also rules created by Yin Zhu based on the information provided by Mao You. The first half of the statement is correct, while the second half is to sow fear in people's hearts, making the ghosts who are born from negative emotions feel even more fearful, thus providing power for the rules.
