Now that he's come to Ghost Village Middle School, even as a relative of the principal's family, Zhang Baye still needs to abide by the rules set by the Eight-Foot Master himself.
In addition to the school rules, the cat also gave Zhang Baye an extra piece of paper:
"To avoid any unexpected situations, I applied for an additional position as a student council member for you. These are the rules that the student council must follow. Please remember them. The duties of a student council member are slightly different from those of a regular student."
It's already troublesome enough to memorize one set of rules, but then there's this "Ghost Village Middle School Student Council Rules"...
While rubbing her temples, Zhang Baye forced a smile and turned her gaze to the high-level rules that were supposedly only visible to student council members. The very first rule made her eyes widen in astonishment:
1. Student council members are not required to abide by school rules three, eight, eleven, thirteen, and sixteen.
What does this tell us?
This shows that they have freedom of movement at school and are not restricted by time and coursework like many students.
School rule three states that students must attend a sufficient number of classes each day; school rule eight states that students are prohibited from rummaging through other students' desks; and school rules eleven and thirteen concern the locking of dormitories at night.
All of this gave Zhang Baye a great deal of freedom.
With tears welling in his eyes, Zhang Baye raised his head, cupped the cat's large paws in his hands, and said with deep emotion, "Thank you, Cat Sister, you are the best cat in the world to me!"
The cat scratched its head again: What's wrong with this kid's brain now?
However, the next second, Zhang Baye's movements suddenly stopped. His mind, which had been clouded by joy, suddenly cleared up, and he remembered something else: his talent [Hellfire] would automatically trigger defense when he violated the rules. It seemed that the cost was that it would consume his stamina. If he flipped over someone else's desk and was in a state of "complying with the first rule of the student council" and "violating the eighth rule of the school", how would his black talent be judged?
Is this considered following the rules or breaking the rules?
Looking at the other rules, Zhang Baye's lips curled up in a wide grin. Apart from the obligations of student council members, such as regularly patrolling the school, most of the rules granted student council members their rights.
Not only school rules, but also when there is a conflict between the teacher's code of conduct and the student council rules, the latter must give way.
Relying on his talent, which made him safe enough in the dungeon, Zhang Baye bid farewell to the cat demon and, holding his student ID, quickly found his class.
After determining his position, amidst the horrified or indifferent gazes of his classmates, Zhang Baye scooped up the moon with a monkey-like grab and reached into the desk drawer of the student on his right, and unharmed, pulled out a... bloody eyeball.
In that instant, Zhang Baye's small hand trembled, and he almost threw the big eyeball away.
Zhang Baye suppressed her nausea, expressionlessly stuffing her eyeballs back into the desk drawer. She then hid her blood-stained hands behind her back, intending to wash them quickly later. Then, forcing a serious expression, she asked with a stern face, "Whose desk is this?"
Most of the students were surprised that Zhang Baye had not only violated the school rules but had not been punished. Only one student, who had been nonchalant, suddenly stood up and even bowed to Zhang Baye: "Hello, Student Council! This seat used to be Lan Mo's seat, but he was taken away for violating the school rules, so the seat is empty now."
Zhang Baye had no idea who he was talking about, but he still pretended to know a lot: "Oh, I see. You guys focus on your class later, I'll go out and take another look."
After saying that, he hurriedly walked towards the toilet.
[20. The toilets on the first floor of all buildings in Ghost Village Middle School are dangerous; please do not use them. For other toilets, please respect the toilet spirit.]
After repeatedly confirming that the toilet he entered was not on the first floor, Zhang Baye obediently went inside. In order to conserve his energy, he did not break any rules and respectfully bowed to the toilet god.
Theoretically, her Hellfire might be able to stop the Toilet God, but considering that after using the Black Talent, if the opponent is too powerful, she would become completely powerless, and if she offended the Toilet God and fainted on the spot, the end of the talent's flames would basically mean her death. Zhang Baye decided that it was better to avoid trouble and keep things peaceful for everyone.
After washing his hands, Zhang Baye took out the "Rules of the Student Council of Ghost Village Middle School" again and carefully read through the obligations he needed to fulfill.
Zhang Baye had only glanced through the rules in his dorm room before, but one rule caught his attention: "[4. When spider lilies appear within the Ghost Village Middle School area, please immediately move away, prohibit other students from approaching, and within 3 minutes, fill in the exact location of the spider lilies in a report and drop it into the principal's question box.]"
Apart from that, most of the rules are precautions for patrolling the campus.
This rule illustrates three things.
First, under normal circumstances, spider lilies do not appear within the school grounds of Ghost Village Middle School, which is why the rules require the patrolling student council members to report them in a timely manner.
According to Yin Zhu's live stream, Zhang Baye already knows that the Lycoris Radiata flower can drive ghosts mad. However, since Master Ba Chi wants to properly manage this school and truly educate ghosts, he does need to ensure that the students remain rational at all times and avoid fighting each other, which is understandable.
Secondly, the rules clearly state that the location of the spider lilies must be filled in the "report". In other words, the school has a report form, and you need to memorize all the locations of the school as early as possible.
After all, the spider lilies in the "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" instance will continue to grow, slowly covering the entire demon realm, and one day they will even grow into the school.
