This was clearly added based on Cheng Zhu's experience.
This made Cheng Zhu suddenly realize why the rules of the "Normal Future" instance did not include all the content from the beginning, but rather added more and more over time.
The reason is obvious.
These rules themselves are a summary of response methods developed by the smart city's artificial intelligence based on various feedbacks encountered by the indigenous people under big data.
However, due to the personalized recommendation mechanism, the Chosen Ones can only see a very small portion of the original inhabitants, and therefore cannot see the dire straits of the other "disappeared majority." It is precisely because of the original inhabitants' exploration that the Chosen Ones are able to acquire more and more rules without sacrificing themselves, thus avoiding danger.
What about the other dungeon worlds?
Cheng Zhu's Future Star had just experienced two dungeons. Even when the strange tales of rules first descended upon Future Star, the various countries thought it was a joke and continued their wars against their neighbors.
Large countries with abundant resources can be of some concern, but the chosen ones of small countries often die without even knowing how they died. Soon, a small country whose name even Cheng Zhu couldn't remember suffered the unfortunate loss of five chosen ones, becoming a dangerous forbidden zone and sounding an alarm for all the countries of the future star.
The only saving grace is that there is a certain pattern to the selection of the chosen ones, though it is impossible to say.
Intelligence and the will to survive.
Fools won't be selected, nor will those who want to die, to prevent the chosen ones from having their lives restarted at lightning speed as soon as they enter, causing the country to be destroyed instantly.
However, because the chosen ones from different countries enter the same instance, and new chosen ones can reset the instance after entering, coupled with some predetermined fixed events, the people of Future Star basically accept that the Legend of the Strange Tales instance is more like a horror game world.
The game world tells you the game mechanics right from the start, and you have to follow certain rules. Players won't question why they can only do these things or why they can't do others, because that's how the code is written.
Now that Cheng Zhu has facilitated the birth of the rules for the instance world for the first time, his feelings have become complicated.
“Also, your friend Mary Sue is being brought to the front desk. Please wait patiently.” Herman interrupted Chengzhi’s thoughts. “Thank you for adding to the library rules, student.”
"Ah, it's nothing, it's nothing." Cheng Zhu waved his hand somewhat embarrassedly.
Not long after, Chengzhu saw another librarian in a green uniform approaching with Mary, who looked rather unwell. Mary opened her mouth excitedly, but considering the library's rules, she ultimately sent Chengzhu a private message: "I rushed over as soon as I saw your post on the forum."
After receiving the message, Cheng Zhu felt much relieved and quickly replied, "Let's find a place to sit first, and we'll talk in detail later."
This time, Mary pulled Chengzhu onto a gray-white spacecraft, then looked at him seriously, took out a piece of paper and a pen, and as the pen tip touched the paper, words automatically appeared on it:
"When I entered the school building, I found that you and Alice were gone. I thought it was because Slote High School had some special mechanism, such as students from different classes automatically blocking students from other classes, so I didn't think much of it and just went to my own classroom. You have no idea what I encountered!"
Cheng Zhu fell silent upon seeing Mary's carefree behavior.
She certainly didn't have that kind of "smart city" thinking, the ability to automatically associate the disappearance of her classmates with a possible new human matching mechanism, and thus treat it as a trivial matter.
She felt that her classmate's sudden disappearance was too bizarre, and her first instinct was to back away.
Taking the electronic pen from Mary, Cheng Zhu imitated its use and asked, "What did you see?" Mary's last question clearly encouraged her to ask further questions, and judging from her expression upon first meeting, Mary was indeed somewhat shaken.
"My classroom was packed with students, all moving in unison, staring at me with strange smiles. Something just didn't look right. The scariest thing was that some of them had their heads rotated 180 degrees just to look at me! I could practically see their necks twisted into pretzels!"
Mary's description formed a picture in Cheng Zhu's mind, which was indeed a bit chilling.
Cheng Zhu quickly wrote down his question: "So you finally realized something was wrong, got scared, and rushed out of the classroom and ran downstairs to escape?"
“No, not at all…” Mary recalled for a moment, “I wanted to leave, but the homeroom teacher stopped me, so I had to find a seat and sit down. Then I asked Angela to contact you. But Alice didn’t answer, and your reply didn’t match the code, it was just a normal message, so I guessed that you had probably left the teaching building.”
It must be said that Mary's logic is quite meticulous.
When the three discussed the code, they took into account the library's essential silence rule and agreed that unless they were face-to-face, all communication would have to be done using rhyming codes, and there would be an additional code for posting.
This fact has now greatly helped Cheng Zhu see through the fake Mary.
Cheng Zhu quickly wrote down the answer: "Yes, I was taken to the library by the principal to take refuge. I was afraid that the text messages from different areas would be misinterpreted, so I left a post on the forum."
"That class was pretty weird; I couldn't understand a single word they taught. I even found a bloodstained note in my desk drawer with several rules that contradicted what the homeroom teacher had said. I felt like I was at the peak of my intelligence at that moment, and I actually came up with a way to escape, and I actually made it out... Now, when I think back on it, I want to slap my thigh and praise myself—I was a genius!"
