Louis's kindergarten life is much more interesting than Yin Zhu's.
If Yin Zhu's side relies entirely on her own antics, and is actually safe and comfortable, then Louis is truly outwitting and outmaneuvering the strange rules, comparable to a dancer on a knife's edge.
Louis's pink talent, "Synesthesia," is an area-of-effect skill.
He is able to establish emotional connections with those around him, which helps him avoid many dangers. When he does something and notices the children around him showing fear, he can quickly realize that he has done something wrong and correct himself in time to prevent danger from happening.
However, the cost was also obvious. Every time he used the skill, he felt like he had exhausted all his strength and needed to lie on the table for a long time to recover.
Sigh, children's bodies are such a hassle.
Louis finally made it to noon, and he was drenched in sweat, but luckily, he had already acquired four rules.
Following Teacher Huang, as seen by the Dragon Kingdom audience—who is also Teacher Maria, as seen by the Romantic Kingdom audience—Louis and the other children lined up and arrived at another building, the cafeteria.
After the teacher took attendance, each child sat down in their assigned seat.
Louis looked around, still finding no rules, and couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. If all the rules in the kindergarten had to be learned verbally, it would undoubtedly increase the difficulty for him, since Louis's memory wasn't particularly good.
Fortunately for him, no other accidents occurred.
Since shrinking, he has only encountered three instances of people around him showing fear. At the same time, Louis also noticed that several children who listened attentively never seemed to experience this emotion; they were simply the most obedient and sensible children in the teacher's eyes and did not pay attention to the behavior of other children.
Every child here seems to have a secret.
If only he had mind-reading abilities, if he could hear what they were thinking, he would definitely have more control than he does now.
Soon, Ms. Maria served Louis his meal.
"Would you like this dish?"
Teacher Maria pointed to a traditional pickled tomato dish and asked him.
“Thank you so much, Ms. Maria, you are so beautiful.” Louis replied very politely, although to others, if they didn’t know his true situation, they would probably think he was a little kid imitating an adult.
"Pfft." Teacher Maria burst out laughing. "Little King, you have such a sweet tongue."
"King" was the pseudonym Louis gave himself at the time.
"No, no, no, I mean it." Louis sensed her genuine joy and tried even harder to please the teacher in front of him. At the same time, he was exhausted from using his talent, and large beads of sweat began to appear on his forehead.
Maria noticed it too, and wiped his sweat with her sleeve: "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"
In an instant, he sensed that several children around him had become fearful after hearing these words.
"No." Louis forced a smile to refuse Maria's teacher, but the overuse of his talent made his face even paler, forcing him to stop using it.
“I think you look very unwell.” Teacher Maria was genuinely worried about him.
He could tell that even without using his abilities.
"No, teacher, I just had a stomachache because I was hungry for too long this morning." Louis did feel that he was consuming more energy than usual, probably because a child's body could not support the abilities of an adult.
Thinking of this, Louis scratched his head: "Dear Teacher Maria, could I have one more meal than the others? I feel like I get hungry more easily than them."
Ms. Maria looked a little embarrassed, but she still managed to keep smiling: "No, my little king, our mealtimes are fixed, but I can give you a little more food next time."
"Really? Thank you so much!"
Louis looked surprised and kissed his teacher, Maria, who was squatting next to him and trying to look him in the eye.
Great, none of the children around thought this action would be dangerous.
Louis had a vague feeling that the danger in the kindergarten did not come from the teachers themselves, but from something else. However, it was too early for him to find out the truth.
Because he frequently activated his innate abilities, the hungry Louis quickly finished a bowl and asked his teacher for another one.
Since there wasn't another teacher freeloading on the Romantic Kingdom's chosen ones' side, Louis, having eaten quickly, received some extra food. Meanwhile, some children who ate more slowly, hoping their teachers would refill their bowls, were refused.
Most of the children went home disappointed without making any extreme moves, except for one girl who pouted, suddenly smashed her plastic bowl on the ground, and then burst into tears.
This loud cry immediately drew everyone's attention.
Louis instantly sensed that many children were showing signs of fear. Apart from those who remained numb and continued to eat their meals with their heads down, the rest of the children all showed varying degrees of fear.
A teacher came over and comforted her, eventually sharing some of his own food with her, which finally stopped her crying.
Seeing the teacher share her food, several other children looked on with envy. Louis noticed that these children all wanted more food, but hadn't received any because they were too late.
Are they afraid to cry? No.
Louis cautiously analyzed what had just happened. They envied the girl for having something to eat, which meant that getting enough food was something to be happy about, and we could consider it an important thing.
