Chapter 63 Medical Room (shuhaige.net)

"Ms. Maria, where are we going?"

Louis tried his best to appear innocent, but the fear in his heart was growing wildly like weeds.

He tried hard to recall the survival rules he had learned in kindergarten, but couldn't think of any that were actually useful. So far, no children had been taken away by the teachers, so he had no options to refer to or learn from.

Is he going to die after only one day at kindergarten?

He's already tried so hard!

“We’re going to the meditation room. Disobedient children need to reflect on their behavior there,” Teacher Maria replied with a smile, but the unspoken message sent a chill down Louis’s spine.

A meditation room? A disobedient child?

Recalling what happened in the cafeteria earlier, Louis vaguely guessed why the other children were afraid when the little girl cried—because they were afraid of the meditation room.

What is in the meditation room that could scare a group of psychopaths?

No! I absolutely cannot go!

Louis abandoned trying to find a way to break the deadlock by looking at the rules, and instead changed his approach. He suddenly stopped, and was pulled so hard that he almost fell over.

Maria naturally felt the child she was carrying suddenly become heavier. Fortunately, an adult's strength is much greater than that of a toddler, and she managed to steady Louis's center of gravity in time: "What's wrong? Little King?"

Louis was pale, and beads of sweat were forming on his forehead.

"My stomach... my stomach hurts..."

He pressed his hand against his stomach, his whole body trembling uncontrollably, his brows furrowed, and his tightly pursed lips turning pale—every detail revealing Louis's discomfort.

Ms. Maria glanced ahead with a hint of reluctance in her eyes, but finally squatted down in front of Louis and asked with a smile, "Are you really feeling unwell? Can't you walk? Do you need me to take you to the infirmary?"

"It hurts...it hurts..."

As Ms. Maria released his grip, Louis immediately squatted down, pressing his stomach tightly against his thighs to shrink himself as much as possible, and repeatedly uttering the word "pain" in a weak voice.

Ms. Maria looked at Louis with mixed feelings, then gritted her teeth and picked him up: "It doesn't hurt, it doesn't hurt, we'll be at the infirmary soon."

"Just bear with it a little longer, the pain will be gone—"

Along the way, Ms. Maria carried Louis as she ran, glancing at him from time to time, but she couldn't find any flaws in her expression.

Damn it, how could this little boy suddenly get sick?

Teacher Maria cursed inwardly.

Remembering seeing Louis in the same state in the cafeteria, she could only complain about her bad luck; after all, a sickly student who was prone to illness had joined her class.

But on second thought, sickly people often have a lower mental resilience and are easier to manipulate.

Thinking of this, Teacher Maria's smile became more genuine, and her gaze as she looked down at Louis was filled with kindness and affection, as if she had seen something delicious. Louis subconsciously turned his head away, not wanting to see her face.

Finally, Ms. Maria slowed her pace and stopped at the door of the infirmary.

Pushing open the door, a person wearing a white coat and a bird-beak doctor mask sat inside. Seeing Teacher Maria carrying Louis in, the bird-beak doctor pointed to the bed inside: "Put him there for now, let me see what's wrong with him."

He said his stomach hurt.

Ms. Maria carefully placed Louis on the bed.

Throughout this journey, in order to maintain a state of constant pain, Louis forced himself to overuse his talent and deplete his body's energy.

Now placed on the white hospital bed, Louis knew he had escaped a terrible ordeal. His tense mind suddenly relaxed, and a strong sense of drowsiness enveloped his entire body, making it impossible for him to stay awake. He fainted immediately.

"...It seems there's no problem."

The bird-beaked doctor fiddled with Louis's body for a bit. Although he didn't use any instruments, the conclusion he reached convinced Teacher Maria, who couldn't help but pout and complain, "Is this little guy just faking it?"

“No, he is indeed feeling unwell,” Dr. Birdbeak explained. “He has been under a lot of mental strain, so his fragile body is struggling to cope.”

"He's really lucky."

Ms. Maria was somewhat frustrated. Even though she didn't know why Louis had suddenly become so mentally exhausted, she understood that she could no longer send the little boy into the meditation room.

"You want to send him to the meditation room? What did he do wrong?"

This bird-beaked doctor was very talkative and showed extra concern for Louis's condition, but because his entire face was covered by a bird-beak mask, it was impossible to see his true expression.

Ms. Maria was a little embarrassed, but she still answered the doctor's question: "He used foul language in class and set a bad example for the other children." Then she went on to describe the whole situation that happened in class at that time.

"I understand, you don't need to worry about it anymore."

Upon hearing this, Ms. Maria understood the doctor's implied message that she should leave. After thanking the doctor, she left the infirmary and headed back to her classroom.

However, the camera in the Chosen Ones' live stream wouldn't naturally follow an indigenous person.

The bird-beaked doctor stood in front of Louis's bedside, quietly watching him as he slept, and suddenly removed the bird-beak headgear.

...

"Why is the camera suddenly acting up? Show the doctor from the front!"

"Exactly, what's so interesting about a back view?"

"You don't understand. This is definitely something unspeakable, meant to create mystery. If we showed you the whole picture directly, then the foreshadowing would be gone."

"No, I think it's just that they're too lazy to change the camera angle. The camera angle hasn't changed since Louis fell into a coma."
