Alice, like a little devil wagging her tail, was surrounded by the other children, who fawned over her. As she looked at her teacher, Mr. Tom, whose smile was gradually fading, her smile grew even wider.
"I have something to do, I'll play with you next time."
Tom felt his smile was about to crumble. He even wanted to push the group of children away and escape, but his feet seemed to be held back by something, and he couldn't move an inch.
He dared not actually harm these little devils.
[Daily Life Tip 9. Never cause any physical harm to children. An adult's strength can easily injure a vulnerable child. Please be gentle when making physical contact with them.]
Having been trained by the temporary apartment to follow the rules, Mr. Tom dared not violate the kindergarten's staff code of conduct.
He was terrified that something terrible might happen if he disobeyed.
"What is the teacher afraid of? We went in and hid everything. There was nothing scary inside!" Alice tilted her head, her face showing indescribable innocence.
“Yeah, even the teacher isn’t as brave as us. How stupid!” another little boy said childishly.
“Yes, yes,” Louis chimed in.
He never went into the toilet; it was the group of people who led it who went in, so there shouldn't have been any accidents.
So why is Mr. Tom so scared?
Louis had some vague guesses, but the members of the teacher-hunting squad didn't tell him clearly. They only vaguely mentioned: "If the teacher doesn't agree, try to make him break rule A; if the teacher agrees, make him break rule B; if the teacher agrees but then changes his mind, then choose rule A again."
Based on the context, Louis can easily conclude that rules A and B are probably not the children's rules, but rather the rules that these teachers need to follow.
Rule A is currently unclear, while Rule B is closely related to the office building's restrooms.
Louis didn't know how they knew the rules that teachers needed to follow, but he was certain that their plan to hunt teachers involved putting them in danger by inducing them to break the rules.
Just like how another group in the class deliberately framed Louis for swearing.
The only difference is that the group in the class used the rules to harm other children, while this group used the rules to harm the adults.
Having narrowly escaped death by being sent to the meditation room by Maria, Louis joined Alice's group without hesitation and plotted with them.
Although Louis's main job was merely to be an attendant, he still gained a great deal from listening to Alice.
The "Teacher Hunting Squad" has learned a lot about the rules regarding teachers. They know that teachers and grade heads have different rules, and that some of the teacher's rules are used to deal with disobedient children, while others are used to protect them.
Using those rules that protect children, Alice formed this small group.
Alain, who was often on lookout duty, secretly told Louis that Alice possessed special abilities, which was why she became the leader of the squad. He told Louis that he should believe her.
Special abilities? Talents? I have those too! Can I be the leader?
Louis just wanted to indulge in his imagination, but he knew he would never actually tell anyone. After all, revealing such a secret might not bring him much benefit; more likely, it would be used as a threat by others who would preemptively kill him to silence him.
And who knows if Alan is right or wrong?
Based on Louis's experience, even without special abilities, Alice could still become a leader of a small group; she has that aura of authority.
Before arriving in Sin City, she might have been a female executive who embezzled hundreds of millions of public funds.
After all, those who come to Sin City are all sinners, and there are few who are easy to deal with. Louis, on the other hand, is a naive rabbit who has been parachuted in as a chosen one. If he doesn't keep a low profile, he probably won't be able to outmaneuver this group of freaks.
Hearing the children's voices one after another, Mr. Tom was truly in a dilemma.
Let's go in; I have a bad feeling.
If we don't go in, it would violate the rule that "we must help children solve their problems."
With a sliver of hope, Mr. Tom finally nodded: "Okay, I'll go in and look. I hope you haven't hidden it too well."
At this point, Mr. Tom was no longer in the mood to be nice to these children. After all, their malice towards him was too great and too obvious. Once he got out safely, he was determined to teach these kids a lesson and find an opportunity to send them all into the meditation room.
He carried the children into the office building's restroom, naturally unaware of the children's eerie smiles behind him.
"Bang!"
The toilet door suddenly closed, startling Mr. Tom. He quickly turned around to open it, only to find that the door wouldn't open.
"Stop joking! Open the door for the teacher!" Teacher Tom panicked completely, trying to turn the doorknob, but something seemed to be stuck on the outside, making it impossible to turn the doorknob.
Louis, being outside, naturally didn't miss what happened.
As Alan closed the door, an iron chain suddenly appeared in the air, locking the toilet door firmly, and no matter how hard the person inside tried, they could not open it.
Louis turned his head and noticed a hint of green light in Alice's eyes.
A holder of the green talent? Is she also a chosen one?
"We won't open the door until the teacher finds my hair clip~" Although Alice's forehead was covered in sweat, her sweet voice didn't betray the immense pressure she was under.
After his efforts proved fruitless, Mr. Tom could only resign himself to his fate and grope around in the bathroom wall for the light, trying to find what the children had hidden.
Therefore, he naturally wouldn't know that the lock on the door didn't last long and soon disappeared.
The two boys immediately stepped forward to support Alice, whose body was weak from overusing her talent. They were already impressed by Alice's abilities, which were like divine creations, and obediently became her tools.
Because of his habitual thinking, Mr. Tom in the bathroom believed that he couldn't get out until he found everything, so he gave up trying again, which also ruined his last chance of survival.
There wasn't much noise coming from the toilet after that, until a heart-wrenching scream rang out:
"Ah—no—ahhhhhh—"
"Open the door! I found your hair clip! Open the door!...No! Noooooo!"
At the same time, chains reappeared, firmly binding the toilet door.
The "Teacher Hunting Squad" never intended for their prey to emerge alive. The so-called game was nothing more than a pretext; once they agreed to play, it was as if they were handing over their lives.
Blood seeped out from under the door, but the children outside, except for Louis, all seemed indifferent.
Once it was completely quiet inside, the chains disappeared. Just when Louis thought it was all finally over, an unexpected event occurred.
"Click".
The toilet door handle was turned from the inside and opened, and a figure walked out.
