The others had no time to pay attention to the complex emotions that Yin Zhu was intentionally hiding, and continued to seriously discuss the situation at Sunny and Cheerful Kindergarten.
“If what Hao Xun said is true, then we can basically piece together the specific situation.” Bu Li finally summarized the results of everyone’s discussion. “The supervisor was brought to Sin City by his mother and could not leave. For some reason, he was chosen by the city lord to be the supervisor of the kindergarten area.”
The short-haired girl analyzed: "Many rules protect children, and that's why. However, the premise of being protected is obedience, which is likely a result of the supervisor being indoctrinated by their parents."
The girl with pigtails shook her head: "If the supervisor is only four or five years old, he shouldn't know so much. We were shrunk, but he wasn't."
“That’s right, so I still think the principal is the one in charge, after all, this kindergarten has been around for at least twenty years,” another boy chimed in.
“But the head of the teaching department said the principal is a puppet. Our previous speculations have always revolved around the fact that the ‘invisible child’ is in charge. Your guess was overturned last month, so don’t hold onto it.” The boy with the buzz cut rolled his eyes at him.
The boy with glasses pushed up his glasses: "Hao Xun, what do you think? You're the only one among us with talent. To be chosen by the Unspeakable, you must have some unique insights."
Yin Zhu pursed her lips, looking somewhat troubled: "The main problem is that I don't know as much as you do..."
"It's okay, just say it."
Bu Li patted her shoulder generously, acting like a good buddy.
After organizing her thoughts, Yin Zhu pinched her chin and began to express her personal opinion: "First of all, I agree with Bu Li's analysis, and I also believe that the person in charge of the kindergarten was brought by the mother, and he is not a sinner like us."
Bu Li nodded.
Yin Zhu continued, "Secondly, I also agree with your point of view that rules should be influenced by the life experiences of the person in charge." Here, she was echoing the short-haired girl's previous point of view.
“However, your question is also reasonable. The supervisor is just a simple toddler, so why would they become a supervisor of a region?” Yin Zhu turned her gaze to the girl with pigtails. “This contradicts the previous point, so there must be a problem with one of them, or some necessary conditions are missing, for example—”
At this point, Yin Zhu paused, her gaze passing over the children and looking towards the window behind the empty office chair.
Outside the window, a boy with features resembling those of the statue gazed at them.
The principal's office is in room 404 of the office building.
So even though she couldn't see his lower body, Yin Zhu knew that the boy outside was probably floating in the air.
The children in the room turned their heads to look in the direction Yin Zhu was looking. The timid boy with the buzz cut let out a "Ah—" sound, which was quickly covered by Bu Li next to him.
The girl with pigtails hid behind the short-haired girl, a little scared. The short-haired girl also looked out the window warily.
Yin Zhu and the boy outside the window locked eyes, and Yin Zhu sensed the deep resentment in their gazes. She subconsciously repeated, "For example, the reason why the supervisor retained his juvenile form is because he died in his childhood. His mother was heartbroken and felt extremely guilty, so she begged the city lord to save her child."
The city lord turned the boy into a monster, condemning him to never grow up again, and the price of his resurrection was that his mother would forever remain a walking corpse—am I right?
Before the words were even finished, everyone in the room clearly felt that the temperature in the principal's room had dropped several degrees.
Immediately afterwards, the boy outside the window floated in through the window.
"You are not good children."
The boy's eyes were deep-set, with black lines gradually spreading from his pupils to his entire eyeballs. The deep blackness, absorbing all light, made his eye sockets seem empty. Combined with his handsome baby face, it gave him a bewitching look.
Yin Zhu wouldn't give him a chance and interrupted him directly: "No, we are very obedient. Otherwise, tell me, where have we been disobedient?"
Forcibly interrupting the boy's rule-making, Yin Zhu started to feel pain again. Not only did she have a headache, but her whole body ached, and her legs were sore. She almost fell to the ground because she lost her balance. This time, the children behind her caught her in time.
“It should be class meeting now, you should be meeting with your parents,” the boy replied coldly.
"And what about you? Why aren't you going?" Yin Zhu forced a question back.
"I am not a student here."
"You are, and you're even wearing the same class uniform as us. If you're not going, why should we be? If you're not going, it means we don't have to follow that rule either!"
The last sentence was almost shouted by Yin Zhu, whose mental state was deteriorating under the pressure of pain.
The boy's dark eyes seemed devoid of emotion, but every child in the principal's office could feel him staring intently at Yin Zhu, his voice utterly cold: "You're right, but..."
"But answer my question first!"
Yin Zhu realized that she couldn't let the other party continue talking, otherwise she would never be able to control the pace of the game.
These few words have almost caused Yin Zhu's body to collapse. If he continues to talk, she will probably die of pain and still not find a way out.
Previously, when they were in the temporary apartment, the manager and Yin Zhu didn't have much of a conflict, and since Yin Zhu was an adult, it was relatively harmless. Later, the supermarket manager was directly killed by Sheng Hui, so it wasn't Yin Zhu's turn to fight him. Now, at the kindergarten, with negative influences on her and having to face the manager directly, Yin Zhu finally experienced firsthand what it means to suffer double the pain.
My body aches, and my head aches too.
Interrupting the boy, Yin Zhu felt a sense of relief and pressed her advantage: "So how much of what I said before was wrong?"
