Chapter 2 Saint Lan Monastery 02
"You take out the box, open it, and find a letter inside."
The letter was titled: "Welcome to St. Lan's Abbey. The following are the rules of conduct for the congregation."
"Rules of Conduct for Members of this Institution"
1. Please remember Thanksgiving, it is a very special day.
"2. Following the dean's special instructions, keep the room floor moist; it's very comfortable to walk on, isn't it?"
"3. Please wear the nun's habit prepared for you. You may not take it off except to take a shower, and you may not move around at night."
"4. You are a new nun at the convent. This is your room. People of each profession have their own attire."
5. If someone is wearing a red mask, don't trust them, stay away from them, but they are cute.
"6. If you see bloody scalp, skull fragments, broken teeth, small intestines, human skin, etc. in the trash can, please call the sanitation worker immediately for recycling."
"7. Please remember to pray daily and take as few medications as possible, otherwise that will be the beginning of your transformation."
"8. All rules have a carrier."
"The last line was written in red ballpoint pen, and the font was larger."
"You are deep in thought as you look at the cult's code of conduct. The deaths of past chosen ones tell you that some rules are true and some are false."
"The first rule is that you don't know what day Thanksgiving is."
"The second point is very strange. Why does the ground need to be kept moist? Is this the kind of obsessive-compulsive cleanliness that normal people should have?"
"Article 7 says to pray every day and take less medicine. Is there a problem with the medicine? Also, the handwriting is different from the previous six articles, as if it was added later."
"There's a sixth rule that will send chills down your spine."
"Why do you find bloody scalp, skull fragments, broken teeth, small intestines, and human skin in trash cans?"
"Some terrible thoughts form in your mind, and you feel that this monastery is very dangerous."
"The first time your consciousness returned was when you saw bloody scalp and severed toes in the trash can, but you didn't contact the cleaner to deal with it, thus violating the rules."
"But whichever rule is correct, your goal is to survive in the monastery until Thanksgiving and achieve an A-level completion."
"You still vividly remember the reasons and processes of the deaths of previous Chosen Ones, which makes you lose the confidence to clear higher levels."
"Article 8 was clearly added later."
"You put the letter away, went to the bathroom, where there was a nunchaku stuck on the sink. You pulled it out and put it in your sleeve."
Just then, the sound of leather shoes on the floor came from outside the room, as if someone had come into your room.
You hurriedly returned to your room, put the box back in its place, and hung the painting back up.
"Just as everything was set up, a mysterious monk wearing a white monk's robe and a veil walked in."
The monk, while writing something, handed you a bottle of medicine: "I'm the doctor here. Are you feeling unwell? Take this medicine, and put on this nun's habit."
"You took the medicine bottle, opened it, and what poured out were earthworms. Are you sure that's really medicine?"
"To avoid disobeying him, you endured the nausea and ate it. Rule number eight says to take less medicine, but it doesn't say you can't take it at all."
"You recall the extraneous memories that flooded your mind, and then you deliberately ask, 'Um, wasn't I stabbed? Who brought me to the monastery?'"
"New nun, your name is Wen Qi, right? You arrived at the hospital on April 20, 2123. You were brought here in the early hours of this morning. You don't remember how you got here, do you?" the doctor said, flipping through your information in his hand.
You nodded seriously, then changed the subject, "Where can I find a cleaner? And when is Thanksgiving?"
"You acted like a religious person, but the questions you asked betrayed you; he gave you a sidelong glance."
"Then he took a pen out of his jacket pocket and wrote his phone number on it."
When he walked up to you and handed you the note, he whispered, "May 6th."
"Then, he picked up the crucifix from his pocket. You suspected that he was going to hypnotize you and take advantage of you, or force you to convert to a religion. That crucifix was the tool he used to commit the crime."
"You pulled out a nunchaku from your sleeve and delivered a fatal blow to his head."
"His head didn't move at all, but your palm was shaking so hard it hurt."
He looked at you with a puzzled expression, and instinctively covered his head with his hands.
"But you struck him on the forehead again with full force using the nunchaku, and his head exploded."
"Your will shatters, your consciousness returns, and you both perish."
"Simulation complete! Current Weirdness level: 10 points; Survival time: 7 minutes."
"Oh my god! I killed someone! I died in the simulation too!"
Wen Qi patted her chest lightly, trying to shake off her earlier excitement.
"Was it because I forgot the date of Thanksgiving that the doctor wanted to kill me? Or did I break the rules?" Wen Qi muttered to herself.
Who knows when Thanksgiving is here?
I wonder if the monastery is still short of people, and if I could become a priest, then I wouldn't have to follow the rules of the clergy!
Although... I'll definitely slack off at work, it wouldn't hurt to play the role of a priest sometime.
With a sigh, Wen Qi began her third simulation.
"Simulation begins, mind astral projection."
You got out of bed, picked up the rotten banana peel, and threw it into the trash can with your eyes closed.
"You went to the bathroom, and a damp, musty smell hit you. You took the nunchaku, and you found that with a thought, the nunchaku was stored in the system space. The system has a space?"
"Next, you took out the letter from the back of the painting, tried it out, and put it into the system's space as well."
"You went to the bathroom and took the mop, leaving a thin layer of water on the floor to make it even wetter."
"At that moment, the sound of leather shoes stepping on the floor rang out."
"Then the doctor pushed open the door and came in. After he gave you the clothes and medicine, you put on the nun's habit over your own clothes while asking for the cleaning department's phone number, trying to avoid taking the medicine."
"The doctor did forget to give you the medicine, but he led you in prayer, and you pretended to follow along."
"The floorboards clattered as he walked up to you and handed you his phone number."
You asked tactfully, "Doctor, why doesn't my back hurt?"
The doctor pondered for two seconds and said, "Your memory seems a bit confused. You went and touched a stranger's organ. How could you feel pain? The one who was actually injured wasn't you."
"Upon hearing this, you immediately touched the area around your kidneys. Could it be that the doctor was being sarcastic?"
"Oh no, has my kidney been cut off?"
"The doctor's lips curled into a barely perceptible smile, and his eyes turned into crescent moons. Even with his headscarf covering his face, you could tell he was smirking. You really wanted to give him a good beating."
"You lifted up your clothes and saw that, thankfully, there were no wounds."
"You're reminded of Rule Six and the blood in the trash can; this monastery must be hiding something."
"You think you might have discovered something amazing, and you feel confident that you can uncover the business of this monastery and pass through smoothly."
"Doctor, why is Thanksgiving on May 6th?"
"I'm not sure either, but you're almost recovered."
The doctor avoids the topic, so you can only nod and say, "Okay."
...
"After the doctor left, you took the cleaning department's phone number and silently memorized it a few times. Then you went to the corridor, where there was indeed a phone on the wall."
"At this moment, in the long corridor, the lights flickered, and there were signs of dilapidation everywhere. You saw a nun wearing a red mask walking towards you."
"She held a small, sharp knife in one hand and a box in the other, the box still dripping blood. She looked at you with a cold, sinister smile."
The nun in the red mask whispered to you, "Someone next door has gone mad. Come with me and help subdue her."
"You smelled blood and pretended to ask, 'Is our monastery short of doctors? I don't think I'm cut out to be a nun. Could you get me a doctor's robe so I can become a doctor?'"
"Then you drew your nunchuck as fast as you could and struck her twice on the side of her head. She fell into a pool of blood."
"Before you even reach the place where the telephone is, various limbs and chunks of flesh appear on the floor in front of you."
"There were still people lying on the ground. Some had their intestines hanging out of their stomachs, some had no eyes, some had their stomachs ripped out, and some had faces that were all mouths."
"There were even eerie cries echoing throughout the corridor, sending chills down your spine."
