He stared intently at the stone slab beneath him.
"There's a hidden compartment here."
Chi Yuan stroked the groove outside the hidden compartment, "This shape looks like a jade pendant, it seems familiar."
He looked at Bai Sang, or more precisely, at Bai Sang's neck.
Bai Sang touched the jade pendant around her neck. "It does look somewhat familiar."
She took off the jade pendant and handed it to Chi Yuan, "Want to try it?"
Chi Yuan took it and gently pressed it against the patterns on it.
"Click".
With a soft sound, a small drawer slowly popped out from under the stone slab.
Inside the drawer was a key.
Stopping everyone from moving forward, Gu Yuan took out the key.
Chi Yuan took the jade pendant from the groove, checked it to make sure it was free of any contamination, and then handed it to Bai Sang.
Bai Sang quietly looked at the jade pendant.
What is the connection between the jade pendant and this strange tale, and this underground palace?
Whose jade pendant is it? Is the owner of the jade pendant the same person as the owner of the underground palace?
Bai Sang remained silent, appearing unusually quiet as the others crowded around to look at the keys.
Feeling her sleeve being tugged twice, Bai Sang turned around and saw Chi Yuan looking worried.
Gu Yuan stood not far away, looking at Bai Sang with a worried gaze.
"I'm fine."
She smiled.
"I was just wondering why this jade pendant could open this drawer."
She looked beyond the main hall, where there was an even deeper darkness.
"What exactly is this ghost story trying to tell us?"
In the darkness, a red light flashed by.
At the same time, Chi Yuan spoke softly.
"It's here."
