Chapter 722: Time That Never Moved Forward

"You're a brave fellow."

Chi Yaoyang said in a low voice.

Even though he knew the dog couldn't understand what he was saying, he found some kind of comfort in talking to himself.

"Woof!"

The dog barked, as if agreeing with Chi Yaoyang's words.

Chi Yaoyang hesitated for a moment, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes.

He couldn't help but begin to doubt whether the dog could really understand him.

Although he knew that this idea was a bit ridiculous, he couldn't help but try to test it with words.

"Can you understand me?"

Chi Yaoyang's voice was full of surprise, and he looked at the dog who was still looking at the corner vigilantly.

As his voice fell, silence echoed in the room for a few seconds.

Chi Yaoyang secretly laughed at his own ridiculous fantasy and felt a little embarrassed.

Maybe it was just a coincidence, or maybe he had just stayed in this weird home for too long.

Suddenly, the dog uttered a low bark in response.

Chi Yaoyang looked at it in astonishment, his eyes full of shock.

"Really? You really understand what I'm saying?"

Chi Yaoyang asked excitedly.

The dog seemed to understand what he said. It turned its head to look at Chi Yaoyang, with a hint of intimacy and affection in its eyes.

Chi Yaoyang suddenly felt a warm feeling in his heart. He finally found a partner with whom he could communicate.

He began to think about how to use this method of communication to get more information about the home.

"Do you know what happened here?"

Chi Yaoyang asked, his voice full of hope.

But the dog didn't speak, it was staggering as if it was going to sleep.

Chi Yaoyang watched the dog suddenly become tired, its eyes gradually closed, and its body fell backwards. Chi Yaoyang immediately hugged it, fearing that it would fall to the ground.

He carefully carried the dog into the bedroom and gently placed it on the bed.

Just then, Chi Yaoyang heard the sound of the door being unlocked.

He immediately hid in the corner of the living room alertly, keeping his lips tightly shut and not saying a word.

The door slowly opened and Chi Yaoyang's parents came home.

He watched his father try to get meat from the refrigerator, then frowned angrily when he discovered the meat was gone.

"I clearly put it in this morning! Who took it away?"

The father roared.

"My brother ate it!"

Chi Yaoyang spoke quickly.

The younger brother opened his eyes wide and retorted, "No! My brother wronged me!"

The father turned around and looked at his brother. After thinking for a moment, he sneered: "Brother doesn't eat meat. You are the only one who eats meat. You are not allowed to have lunch today."

The father pointed at Chi Yaoyang's younger brother and said, "Sit there and don't move! Don't move!"

The poor brother sat back in his seat trembling with tears in his eyes.

It was lunch time. Chi Yaoyang quietly took out the meat that his father had bought earlier and gave it to the sleeping dog at home with an expressionless face.

At the same time, the younger brother sat quietly in the corner, watching his brother give the meat to the dog with anger in his eyes.

Chi Yaoyang finished his lunch in silence, and a depressing atmosphere permeated the small living room.

He saw his parents coming out of the kitchen with a hint of indifference in their eyes.

The mother glanced at the empty living room, looked at Chi Yaoyang who was standing beside him, and said softly, "You and your brother should clean up together."

Chi Yaoyang nodded without showing any emotion.

He went into his room, took out his cleaning supplies and started cleaning.

While tidying up his desk, he noticed that the calendar on the wall still had yesterday's date on it.

Chi Yaoyang picked up the pen hanging on the wall, drew a cross under yesterday's date, and continued to tidy up the room.

Then he picked up the broom and mop and started cleaning the floor.

Not long after, the younger brother came in to help clean up. He noticed that his older brother was holding a bag with yesterday's garbage in it.

The younger brother asked in confusion, "Brother, why didn't you throw away the garbage?"

Chi Yaoyang didn't answer, but continued cleaning silently.

My brother looked at the date crossed out on the calendar and chuckled.

After the two of them silently completed the rest of the cleaning work, Chi Yaoyang walked out of the room with a hint of fatigue.

Chi Yaoyang walked into the living room and saw his brother smirking at him.

"Brother, why are you tearing off the calendar? It's not even the next day yet."

"How did you know I tore off the calendar?"

Chi Yaoyang asked indifferently.

The younger brother gave an unsettling smirk and quietly took out the date piece of paper that Chi Yaoyang had torn off yesterday from his pocket.

Chi Yaoyang's face turned gloomy in an instant.

"What do you mean by that?"

Chi Yaoyang sneered.

Hearing his brother's words, the younger brother's smile became even more sinister, his eyes full of mockery.

The younger brother laughed and said, "You don't know, hahaha, you don't know."

Chi Yaoyang's body trembled slightly, but he didn't speak.

He hurriedly left the living room and entered the bedroom.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to find that the alarm clock that he had placed on the table yesterday had disappeared.

Chi Yaoyang stared at the empty desk in amazement, and couldn't help feeling a sense of weirdness in his heart.

He clearly remembered putting the alarm clock here yesterday, but now it was gone.

No one else can come in, so where is the alarm clock?

He began to look for the alarm clock, his eyes scanning every corner of the table, and finally found the alarm clock in the place where he found it yesterday.

But there was something strange about that alarm clock.

Chi Yaoyang stared warily at the bloodstains gradually appearing on the alarm clock.

He gently stroked the red spots, his heart filled with confusion.

He had clearly washed away the bloodstain yesterday, so why did it appear again?

He looked around, trying to find a reasonable explanation.

But it seemed that no one else had entered the room except himself.

Chi Yaoyang stood up resolutely, walked out of the room and walked towards the living room.

As I walked into the living room, a bloody smell hit me.

Chi Yaoyang's heart tightened and he immediately turned to look at a dark corner.

There, he saw a vague figure.

It's the dog that can only understand words.

Chi Yaoyang immediately asked: "Why did this alarm clock return to yesterday's position? Doesn't time move forward?"

The dog nodded slowly, as if responding to Chi Yaoyang's question.

Although it cannot speak, its intelligent eyes reveal a meaningful message.

"Time... stopped?"

Chi Yaoyang asked stutteringly, with disbelief in his voice.

"So...what's going on? Why did this happen?"

Chi Yaoyang asked, becoming more and more confused.

He felt a sense of despair, for he knew that if time stopped moving forward, he would not be able to move on to the third day, which meant that he would not be able to escape from this stagnant world.

This horrifying reality filled Chi Yaoyang's heart with anxiety.

He began to search his mind for any possible solution...
