Chapter 145 Refusing Immortality

Under Jiang Ran's orders, the blue-clad crew member finally calmed down, but still glared fiercely at the black-clad employee.

The black-clad crew member trembled slightly, seemingly terrified of the tall, blue-clad crew member.

"So?" Jiang Ran picked up the crossbow and fiddled with it for a moment. "Who are you? Why are you on this ship?"

"You bastard... I need to at least make sure you're trustworthy..."

The crew member in black muttered something, then glanced at Jiang Ran again.

With looks this good, there shouldn't be any problem, right?

I thought he was a good person the moment I saw him!

She unzipped her hood, revealing a face that could be considered quite cute.

“I am a member of the ‘Immortal Rebels,’ and as I said, our purpose is to rebel against the immortals.”

She explained in a low voice, glancing repeatedly in the direction of the blue-clad crew member. The man glared at her fiercely, startling her so much that she instinctively took a step back.

This guy... he's so fierce!

"An immortal rebel? So you're not a crew member?"

"Strictly speaking, it shouldn't be considered... After all, we don't take orders from that bastard Planck. If I had the chance, I'd really like to kill him!"

"Thank goodness you brought the blue-clad crew member. If it were any other crew member, I guarantee I would have turned tail and run."

For the blue-clad crew members, the orders of VIP guests are absolute, even greater than those of their own faction!

"So, why is the man in blue standing next to you? What is your position on this ship?"

If it weren't for his talent, this girl would probably have disappeared long ago. But despite her goodwill, she still couldn't completely trust Jiang Ran, at least not until she was certain of his talent.

"Position? That must be a tourist, I'm just a freelancer, I don't have any position to speak of."

"A tourist? Good heavens! You're a tourist? How could you get VIP status with that? This is unbelievable!" The little girl covered her mouth in surprise. "Did you drink Haisi wine?!"

"Hai Si wine? You mean Planck's wine? I don't know."

"This is incredible, sir! How did you manage to bypass all the methods and trick Planck into giving you a VIP card? What's wrong with your brain?" The girl seemed a little excited. "It's good that you didn't drink it! That stuff is no good."

In other words, the normal procedure is to first obtain a certain position on the ship before you can get a VIP card? He's an exception, actually.

"Alright, now that you've said so much, it's time for you to introduce yourself."

“Of course, sir. My name is Sylvie, and as I said before, I am a member of the ‘Immortal Rebels.’” Sylvie’s expression became slightly more serious. “Do you know what Planck’s purpose is? That insane madman actually wants everyone on this ship to live forever!”

"We were originally his crew members, but after learning his purpose, we refused to work with him, and that's how things ended up like this..."

"Immortality...isn't that good?" Jiang Ran continued to press. "It seems you are quite resistant to immortality."

“Of course not!” Sylvie explained, “Being trapped in Atlantis forever, never seeing the light of day, is not immortality, but merely being imprisoned by the ocean for eternity!”

"Rather than that, I'd rather sink into the sea right now!"

"Yeah?"

Jiang Ran pondered for a moment. So, the purpose of these rebels was to kill Planck and seize control of the ship?

“Sir, surely you don’t want to be trapped in such an eternal curse?” Sylvie slowly extended her hand to Jiang Ran. “Perhaps we can cooperate!”

There are two opposing forces on this ship: the crew and the rebels.

So, which side should you choose to pass the level? Or—either way is fine.

"Cooperation? I might consider it." Jiang Ran smiled slightly. "But before that, I need to meet someone who can really speak for me. Take me to your headquarters."

“This…” Xiwei pointed to the blue-clad crew member behind Jiang Ran.

“He obeys me completely.” Jiang Ran’s smile faded. “If you don’t even agree to this, then we have nothing more to talk about.”

"Then please follow me, but I need to ask the chief's opinion first."

Sylvie nodded, then glanced guiltily at the blue-clad crew member before leading the group deeper into an area completely unmonitored.

The group walked through a dusty path filled with pipes and finally arrived at an iron gate.

"You all wait outside for a while, I'll go in and inform the leader first."

"Brother Jiang, have you eaten some kind of 'face-saving fruit'? Why do you get the courtesy of everyone you meet?"

Zhuge Shensuan scratched his head, somewhat puzzled. No matter what, someone who is a rebel wouldn't trust others so easily, right?

"That's because I'm popular... and I'm also good at cursing!"

The iron gate opened again, and Sylvie poked her head out and waved to the group: "You can come in now, but the one in blue has to stay outside."

Jiang Ran ignored her words and led the blue-clad crew members inside.

"Hey! Wait! Wait a minute..."

An elderly man with gray hair sat in the small room, scrutinizing Jiang Ran from head to toe with a critical gaze.

"I already told you not to let him in!"

In the end, the impetuous Sylvie failed to stop anyone.

Jiang Ran sat down opposite the white-haired old man. He couldn't use his talent outside the door before, but now that he was sitting in front of him, the old man would probably never chase the blue-clad crew members away again.

"Sigh, it seems like you're the only one I can trust now."

"When I saw this room, I was thinking about one thing," Jiang Ran said, resting his chin on his hands. "The so-called rebels aren't just the two of you, are they?"

The old man didn't react, but Xiwei blushed and gave an awkward smile.

“That’s the truth. If you don’t want to cooperate with us, you can leave now.” The old man gestured to the iron gate, “Please. I promise I won’t stop you, and I trust you won’t reveal anything about what’s going on here.”

"Really? But I'd still like to hear how you'd like to collaborate."

“I’m glad you’re willing to listen to this old man.” The old man nodded. “My name is Sirius, but of course, the name isn’t important; it’s just a title.”

"Most of the white-clad crew members don't know what Planck meant by 'immortality'. If we can get this message out, some of them will probably switch sides to our side—no, maybe all of them!"

"But Planck has planted spies among these people, so we can't act rashly."
