Chapter 250 This Strange World

The origin of the world... It sounds like something out of a casual conversation, from the Big Bang to God, going on and on. But what I want to know isn't these questions similar to Earth, but rather—the origin of the supernatural world.

Based on the information we have, Earth and the world of ghost stories were originally two different worlds. A few years ago, they suddenly became connected, giving rise to ghost storytellers, the Ghost Storytellers Association, and all the related factions. This feels very strange to me; these things seem too much like a "setting," as if some entity is telling you—

You just need to accept it; don't try to figure out why it exists.

Hey! I'm determined to find out!

Imagine that the two worlds, Earth and the Strange Tales World, are constantly moving towards each other in a special space until the distance between the two worlds is close enough, at which point a connection is established.

If that's really the case, it means that Earth and the world of ghost stories will one day collide! Oh! Then my life will be ruined?!

Strange, has no one in the world thought of this problem?

Clearing the Ghost Stories world will grant certain rewards, which will be used for the country's scientific research development. This is also a "setting". But how exactly do the Ghost Stories world affect Earth? Why do Ghost Stories Masters receive these rewards after clearing the world? How are these rewards distributed?

It's called a research award, but how exactly is this award distributed? Is it research funding? Or is it based on more advanced technology? In fact, several years have passed since the emergence of the supernatural world, and I haven't seen the world's technological development become any more advanced.

I wanted to explore the White Eagle's research institute, but was told I didn't have permission.

What a joke! In recent years, most of the so-called scientific research has been brought about by ghost storytellers, and I, as the head of the White Eagle Ghost Storytellers, don't even have the qualifications to enter.

A high-ranking person told me that all I needed to do was pass the test and then enjoy my wealth and luxury.

It seems my recent actions have drawn the attention of the government.

As I said, this is a world full of flaws.

Humans are creatures that are extremely fond of infighting. If everyone had the same idea, and each world event maximized the rewards so that all countries could reap the highest rewards, it would be an era of great global technological development.

The reason for the competition is that they always regard other countries as "enemies." Strong countries want to maintain their dominance, while weak countries want to rise up. Suppression and resistance play out in the world of supernatural tales, just like a microcosm of the real world.

If they viewed the "weird" as the enemy and other ghost storytellers as allies, would this world of ghost stories really be so terrifying? Unfortunately, this idea will never become a reality; it's just a fantasy fairy tale.

This is not something I can change. Humanity has never considered all of humanity as a community of shared destiny. This applies to both Earth and the Blue Planet, regardless of whether there is an "IQ lock" or not.

Human nature is selfish, including mine. How selfless am I?

I proposed the concept of an "IQ lock," but another question arises: Who set up the "IQ lock"? What is its purpose? Is it to block the path of Earth's progress?

Why would the supernatural world provide Earth with methods for technological advancement? Whose will is behind this? I believe that no one would be kind to another person for no reason, and this theory can be applied to both worlds.

In the third month, I entered an S-class world again. If I couldn't start with the "humans," then I would start with the bizarre.

Bizarre... what kind of being is it?

Some of them have the same thinking as humans, while others are more like wild beasts. I always have this feeling that some of the strange creatures are more human than "human".

God, I might be acting strangely.

I encountered a bizarre creature that intrigued me greatly; its individual number is 069, the Ghost Scythe.

I remember I had a special item that allowed me to form a contract with a strange creature, but the creature had to be willing.

I made a pact with the Fiend Scythe. The process was a bit messy, since this guy had been trying to kill me before. But it turned out well. I named him Rhaast. Hey, you know what, it's not a bad name.

I want to understand the difference between the real "world of the supernatural" and the "world of ghost stories" through Laast. I think that since supernatural beings can travel between various worlds of ghost stories, they must have a place to stay when they are not traveling between them. I named it the "world of the supernatural".

I had imagined the eerie world to be a barren wasteland, or even a hellish place, but Laaste told me it wasn't like that at all. There was a sky with red, black, and yellowish-brown hues, and no sun or moon.

Each of the bizarre individuals has its own territory, but the bizarre individuals known as "Human Observers" are a group unit. They have established a school in the bizarre world, which Laast scoffs at and has never visited.

No one dared to cause trouble in the school, because every human observer was at the near-god level. Once they joined forces, they would be a force capable of overturning the strange world, and Rhaast wouldn't want to invite trouble.

This was the first time I learned about the power levels of bizarre creatures: [Bizarre], [Elite], [King of Bizarre Creatures], [Near God], and finally, [True God]. Rhaast was a bizarre creature at the [King of Bizarre Creatures] level.

I asked Laast why most of the bizarre individuals were so keen on killing.

He said there was no special reason; it was just like a human stepping on an ant—just for fun.

I've come to the conclusion that there's a force inducing these strange creatures to oppose humans. In their subconscious, they don't take humans seriously; they only become alert when a human they acknowledge appears.

This is also a "setting".

I asked him again, "What exactly is the 'True God'?" Rhaast pondered for a moment, seemingly unable to answer himself, only uttering a single sentence—

"Perhaps I was also created by them, but I don't know for sure."

I laughed at him and said, "Don't you even know how you came to be?"

Laast was somewhat indifferent, because almost all bizarre creatures were like that.

After leaving this world, I organized the information I had recently gathered. I am gradually becoming familiar with this world. If I have a few more months, I am sure I will be able to uncover the truth of the supernatural world!

I decided to explore a little deeper, and I entered the SSS-level ghost story world at the end of that year.

I was so naive.
