They actually survived the first day? No way!
Jiang Ran felt that this was probably the first day of the simplest S-class world he had ever participated in. He didn't need to do anything; he could survive just by sleeping. He guessed that other countries must be sending ghost storytellers to this world. After all, who wouldn't want to get involved in such an easy way to make money?
In fact, that is indeed the case.
[Rule 3: Traveler, if you find the legendary "Lost City", please enter the city during the day and do not leave the city at night. If you do not have this ambition, please stay in Alice's cabin until the seventh day, and do not leave the area within a kilometer of the cabin during this period.]
[Rule 4: When you encounter a fork in the road, stick to your first decision. Once you move forward, you cannot go back until you reach the "Lost City".]
"The Lost City..."
This is the place you must reach to complete the game, but the third option unexpectedly gives you a second choice – give up searching for the "Lost City" and stay in Alice's cabin for seven days.
Upon seeing this rule, the leaders of various countries were overjoyed once again. Did it mean that as long as they stayed here, there would be no danger? Wouldn't that mean the reward would be a piece of cake?
"Would an S-rank dungeon be this kind?"
Jiang Ran would not choose to stand still. He kept Alice's advice in mind, but no matter what, he had to go to the "Lost City"!
"Big brother, take this with you."
Alice took out a simple thermos containing the black herbal soup.
"Take this with you on your journey; consider it a farewell gift."
This is a medicinal soup made from plants. If the first rule is strictly enforced, then Jiang Ran will violate the rule as soon as he drinks the soup.
Thanks.
Jiang Ran still took the kettle. Just because he couldn't drink from it didn't mean the prop was useless. If there was a later part of the story that required Alice's medicinal soup, he wouldn't have enough time to come back and get it.
"Big brother, it's not too late to back out now."
"Bye now."
Jiang Ran and Gwen embarked on their journey to the "Lost City".
Alice sighed softly and returned to her cottage.
With Jiang Ran setting such a good example, two or three more mystery tale tellers survived the first day, and the audience in the live stream were basically certain that there was no danger on the first day.
"This is really unusual. How long has it been since we had such an easy first day?"
Ding Hui, a storyteller from Myanmar, leisurely lay in Alice's hut, crossing his legs and watching Alice simmering soup.
"I must say, this little girl is quite cute..."
Of course, he was just talking nonsense and would never dare to make a move against a strange creature.
"From now until tomorrow morning, there should be no light or sound in the room, otherwise it will attract bad things."
Alice turned off the lights in the cabin.
Ding Hui remembered the procedure Jiang Ran had followed: do not drink Alice's herbal soup, do not open the door for that ghost outside, and then do nothing but sleep to survive.
Thump thump thump—
Ding Hui had to admit that he was a little flustered when the knocking sounded, but just like Jiang Ran's previous story, the knocking stopped and Ding Hui finally relaxed.
Time to sleep!
The danger had finally passed, and Ding Hui closed his eyes and fell asleep.
How long has it been since he slept in a ghost story world? You know what, it's actually quite a novel experience.
Alice thought it was just an ordinary night.
Until she heard Ding Hui snoring!
Holy crap?!
Alice suddenly opened her eyes and stared intently at Ding Hui, who was snoring!
I'm going to die!!!
Alice lifted the quilt, just about to go up and cover Ding Hui's mouth, when the knocking on the door sounded again, making Alice freeze in place!
Knock knock knock!
Ding Hui seemed to be dreaming of something wonderful, and his snoring grew louder and louder, echoing the symphony outside the door, which made Alice's fists harden completely!
For the first time, she felt like she had done something stupid!
Why did I even open the door for this guy in the first place?!
Bang!
The wooden door of the cabin was smashed open with a punch, and Ding Hui was startled awake, quickly getting up from the ground!
"Is it dawn yet? Fa, what happened?"
It was pitch black outside, as if shrouded in a thick layer of smoke; nothing could be seen, from the sky to the ground.
"You, this door is of poor quality..." Ding Hui swallowed hard. To be honest, he was still a bit confused. Even now, he didn't know which part had gone wrong.
"Do we... need to fix the door?"
"Shut up!"
Alice roared!
She slowly backed away, turned the lights back on, and stared intently at the doorway!
It's probably no longer possible to hide, so we might as well face this monster head-on!
As the figure in black leather trousers stepped into the room, Ding Hui's pupils instantly contracted. It was a strange creature dressed in black clothing from the Western Middle Ages, with a huge cloak draped over its back, and a bird-beak mask that completely covered its face!
"Relics from a bygone era..."
The bird-beaked monster looked at Alice and said this.
"Judging from your appearance, you're more like a relic of the old era!"
Alice retorted without holding back!
"You're sick, seriously sick." The bird-beaked monster took a syringe out of his pocket. "It's alright, I'm a doctor, I'll treat you. Don't move, little girl, the pain will be over soon."
Ding Hui watched this scene with trepidation. He knew that these two guys were not to be trifled with, so he could only slowly retreat behind Alice and then open the bedroom door.
Wait, there's another bedroom here? Then why isn't Alice sleeping in the living room instead of going back to her bedroom?
Ding Hui had no time to worry about any of that. The living room windows were all locked, so his only way out was to open the bedroom window and escape from the room!
He didn't want to stay and face that bird-beaked doctor!
The sounds of fighting came from the living room, making Ding Hui increasingly anxious. The bedroom was full of various dolls, all of which were covered with stitching marks.
Ding Hui felt somewhat uncomfortable in the bedroom, as if all the dolls were staring at him.
"Let's get out of here right now!"
He flung open the window and plunged into the night storm!
[Din Hui, a Burmese ghost storyteller, has died; the death toll is now 1.]
Ding Hui became the first ghost storyteller to die in this world. It's unique among ghost storytellers to die because of snoring, and yet he couldn't make a sound at all. Who could have imagined that?
The high-ranking officials of various countries only regretted that Ding Hui hadn't stayed in the living room in the end! Since they were all going to die anyway, they might as well see who this bird-beaked doctor really was, so that the countries could think of ways to deal with him.
