“Actually, it wasn’t Captain Planck who came to call you to get the key, was it?” the crew member in red continued. “But Captain Planck said that anyone with the right rank can take it.”
“So I don’t care, but you have to become senior staff first. There’s only one way for ordinary staff to get promoted quickly.” The red-clad crew member held up one finger, “and that is to pass the test left by Captain Planck.”
"If you're willing, I'll take you there now; if you refuse, then I'll leave."
As expected, getting the key wasn't so simple. After thinking for a moment, Wips realized that since he had chosen this path, he couldn't give up so quickly.
"Alright, lead the way!"
The two followed the red-clad crew member into a peculiar room. All six walls of the room were painted pure white, and apart from the door, there were no windows or any other items in the room.
“According to Captain Planck, only those with a calm mind can achieve great things.” The red-clad crew member stood at the door. “If you two want to obtain the status of senior officers, you need to stay in this room for two days, a total of 48 hours. I will bring you food from time to time to ensure your survival.”
"And during these two days, neither of you can leave this room, otherwise it will be considered a failure."
"Two days?" Dejov was somewhat displeased. Two days was far too much for them to do, enough to even complete a whole supernatural world!
Asking them to waste two days of their time made Dejov wonder if it was really worth it.
“It’s okay.” Wips patted him on the shoulder. “Have you forgotten the voice prompt we heard earlier? It’s probably the third day already. We’ve long lost our sense of time. It’s supposed to be two days, but it probably only feels like a few hours.”
"Two days have passed, which is not beyond the time limit stipulated in the rules. If we don't take this key, someone else will come to collect it sooner or later!"
"Then, let's begin!"
While everyone else was making progress, Aransta also arrived at the top-floor room.
[Rule Fourteen: If you are going to one of the top deck cabins on the cruise ship, make sure you are alone in the cabin. Do not close the door. If the door is blown shut by the wind, immediately hide under the bed until something leaves.]
There are only two rooms facing each other on the top floor. The two rooms look the same from the outside, and it is impossible to tell which room the key is in.
"Four Symbols Order - Water! I want to verify Rule Fourteen!"
Before entering the room, Aransta confirmed this rule to ensure he had accurate information.
This rule is correct.
This is the best possible outcome!
He was the first to step into the room on the left!
It was a very ordinary bedroom, and Aransta looked around but didn't find anything wrong, but of course he wouldn't let his guard down.
To prevent the door from being affected by the wind, Aransta first moved the bedside table to the door to block it, and also searched the bedside table before returning to the room to look for the key.
No, no, it's not here either.
Aransta searched the entire bedroom but couldn't find the key. He was certain he hadn't missed a single spot! He hadn't even checked under the mattress.
"Could it be in the toilet?"
This bedroom has a separate toilet, which is theoretically the only place Aransta hasn't looked for.
Hopefully the key is inside, otherwise he'll have to go to another room.
Pushing open the toilet door, a dwarf boy was squatting on the ground, his finger bitten and the dripping blood staining the ground red.
"You—" The little boy looked up and smeared a trail of blood on his face with his finger, "Why did you come into my room?!"
The little boy let out a shrill roar, and Aransta instinctively took a step back, realizing something was wrong!
The rules state that no second person can be in the same room, but unexpectedly, the person we need to be careful of is not the other ghost story writers, but the person who was already in the room!
The bedroom and the toilet are two separate rooms. Aransta can move around in the bedroom however he wants, but once he steps into the toilet, he's doomed!
Aransta slammed the bathroom door shut and retreated into the living room, while the little boy stood up and smashed the bathroom door open with his fist, then rushed into the bedroom as well!
"Why did you enter my room—I'll kill you!!!"
"Four Symbols Command - Fire! I will kill you, little boy!"
Flames erupted, and the little boy's body turned to ashes. Aransta plopped down on the sofa and took a deep breath to calm himself down.
There was no key to the toilet either, so it seems the key isn't in this room.
It seems the only option is to check out another room.
Aransta turned his head, his pupils suddenly contracting!
Because the door had been closed sometime earlier!
Footsteps sounded outside the door.
Aransta immediately hid under the bed, his gaze fixed silently on the doorway.
Nobody's opening the door?
The next moment, Aransta felt something stroking the top of his head. He turned his head sharply and saw a bloody arm growing out from under the bed, with a huge mouth full of sharp teeth in the palm!
"Four Symbols Decree - Wind, I will reset Fire! Four Symbols Decree - Fire, I will kill you, Hand Demon!"
[Rule Fourteen: If you are going to one of the top deck cabins on the cruise ship, make sure you are alone in the cabin. Do not close the door. If the door is blown shut by the wind, immediately hide under the bed until something leaves.]
Aransta then realized that although the rules were entirely correct, they were playing a word game with him. He should only hide under the bed if the door was blown shut by the wind. Otherwise, no matter why the door was closed, the area under the bed was a dangerous place!
The problem is that Aransta didn't know why the door was closed either, so he really couldn't guarantee that his choice was correct.
This is bad. We've only come to the first room, and the Four Symbols Token has already been used three times. Alanstar sat on the bed in deep thought. Should he go to the next room?
This is our last chance to save our lives, we can't let it slip away like this!
"A few rooms...a few rooms..."
Generally speaking, if there are only two rooms, it wouldn't usually be referred to as "several rooms," right?
"Could there be other hidden doors on the top floor?"
Given the size of this room, it would indeed be difficult to fill the entire top floor.
Aransta left the room, but instead of going to the room opposite, he groped along the wall!
"There really was a trap!"
Aransta tore off a section of the wallpaper, revealing a combination lock with what appeared to be some regular patterns around it.
About ten minutes later, he successfully cracked the code and entered the hidden room!
