Many in the team disagreed with the Emperor's actions because they were no longer able to move forward.
"Don't you understand? We came here to fight for a glimmer of hope! If we were afraid of this and that, why did we come? For us, even if we die here, it doesn't matter, since we are all going to die anyway."
"I'll say it again: if you want to quit, you can leave now."
"Leave?" This question might have been useful at the beginning, but now everyone understands that without the emperor's leadership, no one can leave this snow-capped mountain.
After resting for an hour, we set off again against the backdrop of a heavy snowstorm.
January 20th, heavy snow.
The magician is dead.
She collapsed in the snowstorm, becoming the first member of our group to die.
Her cause of death was simple: prolonged exposure to wind and snow worsened her condition. Sometimes, illness can take a person's life in an instant.
At this moment, the fear of death enveloped everyone. If the fear had not yet erupted before, the magician's death undoubtedly ignited it. No one knew if they would be next.
The emperor buried the magician in the snow and offered a simple prayer over her body.
"May the Lord be with you."
"Stop pretending!" Mr. Justice rebuked the Emperor. "If you hadn't insisted on braving the snowstorm, how could she have died?"
“Even if she doesn’t come, given her condition, the outcome will be the same in three months at most.”
"Who do you think we are?" the emperor retorted to justice. "Heroic adventurers? No, we are just pathetic fellows struggling on the brink of death."
Everyone fell silent.
In the evening, the judge also collapsed in the snow. This middle-aged worker, around 40 years old, hadn't even finished his dinner.
The crowd buried him, and no one spoke.
January 21st, heavy snow.
Miss Lover and Mr. Temperance never woke up again.
The emperor uttered only one sentence: "Continue onward!"
His words no longer seemed as authoritative, but he didn't seem to care.
Mr. Chariot and Mr. Strength no longer obeyed the Emperor's orders. They decided to turn back, but everyone knew it was impossible. Perhaps they saw no hope and did not want to see anyone else die, so they chose to perish alone in the snow.
The original team of 22 people was reduced to 16. At first, everyone shared their experiences, but then they all fell silent. The team was silent. Yes, we were just strangers. No one needs a friend who might die at any moment.
Mr. Justice has discovered another huge set of footprints. This is the second time we have found footprints, but this time it is not one set, but a series of footprints!
"The Yeti might be nearby! Stay alert, if you don't want to die!"
January 22nd, sunny.
The snowstorm finally stopped, but we still couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. The conflict between Mr. Justice and the Emperor had completely erupted! The Emperor said that the snowstorm was the key to finding the Peak of God, but now that the snowstorm had stopped, they not only failed to find the Peak of God, but also lost several members in succession!
"If you had let us rest in the cave back then, we wouldn't be in this situation now!"
“Even if I had to do it all over again, I would make the same choice.” The emperor’s face was cold, and his words were even colder. “Losing members is not necessarily a bad thing for us. We may eat one less person, but we don’t have less food.”
The emperor's words sent chills down everyone's spines!
"You're a monster!"
"I will continue on my path; you can choose not to follow me."
The Emperor has lost his prestige within the team, and Mr. Justice has become the new leader. Returning is now impossible, and we have no choice but to go down this path to the bitter end. At this point, that vague and ethereal legend has become our last hope, which is truly laughable.
January 23rd, Minor Snow.
Today is a disastrous day for all of us!
We encountered a snowman! The legendary snowman! A real snowman!
Clearly, these creatures are as unfriendly as the legends say; we were attacked by Yetis!
Mr. Justice called on everyone to take up arms to fight the Yeti. At this point, there was no need to distinguish between men and women or be plagued by illness. As long as you can still move, you must go!
We were lucky; the Yeti's fighting power wasn't as insurmountable as the legends suggested. I was lucky, as I only suffered minor injuries, but the others weren't.
Mr. Justice charged ahead and died at the hands of the Yeti. During the battle, Mr. Moon, Ms. Star, Mr. Hermit, and Ms. Priestess died one after another, either at the hands of the Yeti or due to illness, causing the team to suffer a rapid decline in numbers!
Several others were seriously injured; though they weren't dead, they were already halfway to their deaths.
In this snowstorm, they were no different from the dead, having lost their ability to move; no one could save them.
The emperor buried everyone, and finally looked at the snowdrift that buried justice.
"You are a hero, but heroes are born to die."
Only six people in the team were still able to move around.
I am Mr. Emperor, Mr. Wheel of Fortune, Mr. Pope, Mr. Death, Mr. Hanged Man.
It must be said that in this situation, men really had an advantage over women. Apart from me, all the survivors were men. We didn't say anything and just kept moving forward.
January 24th, heavy snow.
As the wind and snow intensified, it felt as if we had returned to the time when we were most desperate. Six strangers walked together, heading towards a hopeless future.
Mr. Hanged Man died from an acute illness.
We took his remaining food, which is normal; we've long been accustomed to death.
We walked along a remote path through the wind and snow, not knowing whether we were trying to find the Peak of God or just wanted to collapse in the snowstorm.
"My God! This is a true miracle!"
The emperor's shout made me raise my head, and I saw a staircase made of solid ice! The staircase encircled the pure white mountain peak, and the miracle was presented to us!
"The Peak of Gods! This is it..."
Mr. Death stretched out his arm and then collapsed in front of everyone!
He fell before the land of hope.
"I never imagined that the Peak of God actually existed..."
The Pope and the Wheel of Fortune sighed, but the Emperor had no time to sigh, and didn't even bother to take the food left by Death, heading straight for the Peak of God! In the cold, his movements seemed so stiff.
boom--
A loud bang made me, who should have been running, look into the distance!
Avalanche! It's an avalanche!
Perhaps this is the end of our adventure.
The avalanche swallowed us all, burying us in white disaster.
