Chapter 266 Escape Room (4)

"Who hangs a white cloth in their inn?!"

"If this kind of atmosphere were actually made into a real-life escape room, it might actually be a huge hit."

There were some faint scratches on the walls on both sides. Jiang Ran went forward to check and found that the scratches were mixed with dust and bloodstains, as well as some rough writing.

I have a big surprise for you!

[On the second floor, there's only one exit leading to life! The rest are all exits to death! Hahaha! Let's have some fun!]

In other words, is there only one safe room out of dozens of rooms on the entire second floor? Could the escape route be hidden in this room?

"These haunted rooms all look the same, how can you tell them apart?"

Wips approached the door and then glanced at the door next door. Apart from the different patterns on the wood, the two doors seemed identical.

But it is incredibly difficult to carefully compare the patterns on all the doors in such dim light; it's a huge undertaking!

Jiang Ran walked back and forth in the corridor, memorizing the appearance of each door. After a moment of contemplation, he walked directly to Weps and pushed open the door closest to them.

"Wow, that's awesome, bro! You figured it out right away?! By the way, is there something wrong with this door?! Hey! Hey!"

Weips followed Jiang Ran into the room.

Wips originally thought that as the only "life gate" room, this room must contain important clues, and there might also be a lot of things piled up to hinder their search.

Unexpectedly, the room was surprisingly simple, with nothing but a large bed. Unconvinced, Wips crouched down to look under the bed, but still found nothing.

He then thought of the basement as a possibility, but after searching, he still found nothing.

"As expected?"

Seeing Jiang Ran leave the room, Weipus followed, and Jiang Ran pushed open the door to the next room right in front of Weipus!

"etc......"

Nothing happened; it remained an ordinary room.

Now Wips realized that the words on the wall were a complete lie! They weren't any correct hints at all! It was just a prank!

Assuming they believed what was written on the wall, out of caution against danger, they might not easily open the door. Even if they confirmed the "door of life" after some reasoning, they would subconsciously think that the other rooms were dead ends and wouldn't think to open the second room!

"Alright, the old way!" Jiang Ran stretched, "Search room by room!"

All the rooms are exactly the same, and there really is no other way.

"Be careful, there's still a possibility of danger."

"I do know that!"

After searching the room, the two finally discovered that the central room was different; there was an extra painting hanging on the wall.

Since this room is in the middle of the corridor, it will only be discovered when you are halfway through the search, no matter which side of the stairs you come up from.

Including the previous suggestive messages, everything was arranged to buy time.

Twenty minutes have passed since the game started.

Jiang Ran lifted the painting and tapped on the wall behind it.

"Empty."

The question is, how can this door be opened without damaging the wall?

Jiang Ran raised his arm, his fist covered in white powder. He then smeared it on the wall, revealing the hidden combination lock behind the white coating!

It took Jiang Ran about three minutes to crack the code. He opened the hidden door in the wall, revealing a passage that could only be entered by one person at a time. There was a simple ladder in the passage, and this passage did not lead downwards, but rather upwards!

As they ascended the escalator, the two quickly reached the third floor.

This is a special room, not the usual room on the third floor. Jiang Ran looked around and saw the numbers "4697" written on the wall.

After noting down the number, the room seemed to receive little attention. Passing through the door, the two arrived at the normal rooms on the third floor, which were directly opposite the rooms on the second floor.

This door is a one-way door; if they come directly to the third-floor room instead of coming up from the second floor, they cannot enter the room without damaging the door.

"A boring process."

The two searched the third floor for a while and finally found a locked keypad door. After entering "4697", a dark slide appeared in front of them.

Going up and going down again, sigh, it's really boring.

Jiang Ran casually tossed something down to confirm the slide was working properly before sliding down with Weipus. Based on their height, they weren't back on the first floor, but had entered a deeper level!

Basement level!

"Speaking of which—" Jiang Ran stood up from the end of the slide, dusting himself off, "That tiger-headed guy said it was dangerous here, but apart from that crippled thing, it doesn't seem like there's any danger at all..."

"Who knows?" Wips shrugged. "Maybe he's just lying."

The White Eagle Kingdom ghost storyteller walked down the quiet second-floor corridor. He also noticed the message on the wall, so he dared not make any rash moves and hesitated about whether to open the door and take a look.

"These doors look like they've been opened?"

He wandered over to the rooms that Jiang Ran and Weipus had inspected. Although he found signs that the doors had been opened, he suspected something was amiss and hesitated to make a decision.

"There's still plenty of time, half an hour left..."
