Chapter 128 Uprooted (2)

"Where did Huang Yaozong go?" the old policeman asked with a dark face as he looked at the Huang family members who had been detained.

"What right do you have to arrest us?" Huang Yaozong's son, Huang Tianxiang, shouted. "Release us right now, or you'll be sorry!"

"Shut up!" The young policeman kicked Huang Tianxiang without hesitation. "You're about to die and you still don't know how to repent!"

Huang Tianxiang clutched his stomach as he was kicked, his face contorted as he stared intently at the young policeman, his eyes seemingly filled with venom.

He was already thinking about how to kill this arrogant bastard.

How dare you disrespect me! I'll make sure your whole family suffers a terrible fate!

The young policeman could tell from Huang Tianxiang's eyes that he was up to no good again. Thinking of all the things Huang the Fat Man had said, he wanted to kick the bastard a few more times, but the old policeman stopped him, "First, find out where Huang Yaozong is!"

"We don't know! Officers, it's the middle of the night, we're sleeping, and you just barged in like this. You dragged us out of bed, how could we know?"

Huang Yaozong's wife, Hu Tao, complained.

Seeing that he couldn't get anything out of these people, the old policeman didn't waste any more time on them and simply ordered them to be taken away and detained.

Time is of the essence; we must capture Huang Yaozong and prevent him from escaping.

However, after searching the Huang family's house and the surrounding area, they still couldn't find Huang Yaozong. They had no choice but to expand the search area again and arrange for people to block him at various intersections in the county town.

Just as dawn was approaching, and the police officers, who had been busy all night without catching Huang Yaozong and thought he had escaped, received a report from the public that a large-scale fight was taking place in the old houses in the west of the city, and it was quite a commotion.

The police initially thought it was just some street thugs causing trouble, but then the person who reported the incident said they saw the group robbing some large boxes. One of the boxes overturned, and a large golden Buddha head fell out...

The old policeman's eyes lit up, and he immediately called out to his men, "Grab your weapons, everyone come with me!"

A dozen or so police officers quickly arrived at the scene and were shocked by what they saw.

A group of twenty or thirty mentally unstable people were in the courtyard. Some were shouting and yelling, some were crying and laughing, and some were fighting in groups of two or three.

The old policeman looked at the dozens of large boxes in the yard with a serious expression. He went forward and opened the nearest one, and found that it contained the golden Buddha head. He opened another box, and found a box full of ancient paintings.

He had several more opened, and discovered that many of them were taken from ancient tombs...

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the old policeman immediately ordered his men to take all these people into custody.

Fortunately, Huang Yaozong, whom they had been searching for all night, was also there.

This guy must have taken some kind of crazy drug; he was laughing incredibly arrogantly, grabbing people and saying, "I'm Huang Yaozong, this whole county is my territory..."

The young policeman couldn't control his restless feet again and kicked several times in a row.

Those Huang family members are all asking for a beating!

This is absolutely intolerable!

This time, the old policeman didn't stop him.

With this evidence, Huang Yaozong is already a dead man!

Although kicking Huang Yaozong had been cathartic, the young policeman didn't sit idle. He made full use of his professional skills and quickly followed the clues to find the mechanism under the dry well, entered the stone chamber, and found the remaining boxes. He also found several thick ledgers, which recorded the number of antiques and cultural relics that Huang Yaozong had sold over the years, as well as the profit sharing. In each instance, Director Guo received 50% of the profits...

Without saying a word, the old policeman immediately called the municipal police station and ordered them to take Director Guo into custody.

As Ye Weiwei watched Huang Yaozong being arrested, a smile involuntarily crept onto her lips. A family should always be together.

This time, she only took the boxes containing gold, jewelry, and jade; she left the rest untouched.

The Huang family's situation in the county town has been resolved; the Guo family's situation should be resolved soon.

After a busy night, she was a little tired. She went to a state-run restaurant for breakfast and bought thirty large meat buns and a small jar of pickled vegetables that locals like to eat before leaving.

After finishing her meal, Ye Weiwei drove to town. She hadn't forgotten that there was still someone she hadn't dealt with.

Ye Weiwei found Tang Qian without much trouble.

She actually returned to the small courtyard that Fatty Huang had rented for her.

Thinking back to that day, she and Fatty Huang were so scared that they ran out of the yard in a panic. She never expected that she would have the guts to move in.

But after thinking about it, Ye Weiwei understood. Tang Qian was penniless and had no food, and her face looked like a ghost. Where could she go?

When Ye Weiwei entered the courtyard, she deliberately made some noise, her footsteps landing heavily. She then heard Tang Qian screaming from inside the room: "Ah...a ghost! Get out! Get out! Don't come looking for me! Get out! Get out of here..."

"Waaah... I beg you, please don't come looking for me! It wasn't me! It really wasn't me! Go find Fatty Huang! It was all him, it was all his idea, it has nothing to do with me, I was forced into it... Waaah..."

"Heh..." Ye Weiwei sneered, "Tang Qian, Tang Qian, even at this point, you're still so unrepentant!"

"Who are you? You're not Qiao Jiaping, who are you?!"

Tang Qian heard a woman's voice, which sounded somewhat familiar. Her fear lessened a bit; at least it wasn't Qiao Jiaping coming to take her life.

"Tsk tsk, it's only been a few months since we separated, and you've already forgotten me so quickly. You can't even recognize my voice anymore, my dear sister-in-law!"

Ye Weiwei emphasized the last three words, and as she spoke, she pushed open the door and stood in front of Tang Qian.

"It's you!?" Tang Qian's eyes widened in disbelief. She rubbed them hard, and finding no one standing in front of her, she pinched her thigh. Feeling the pain, she glared angrily at Ye Weiwei. "Ye Weiwei, what are you doing here?"

Ye Weiwei tilted her head and admired Tang Qian's injuries for a while, then said with a half-smile, "What do you think? Why do you think I'm here?"

"How should I know!" Tang Qian covered the wound on her face with her hand and said impatiently, "What did you come to see me for?"

Ye Weiwei smiled, but the smile didn't reach her eyes, making one's heart tremble with fear. "I came to find you, of course, to clean house."

"You...you...what do you want to do?" Tang Qian shrank back in terror until her back was against the wall with nowhere to hide, then she shrieked, "What do you mean by cleaning up the house? Your older brother and I separated a long time ago, I'm no longer a member of your Ye family!"

Ye Weiwei raised an eyebrow, her smile deepening, revealing an eerie beauty that was both dangerous and alluring. "It's my fault, so just consider me here for revenge."

Despite speaking in a tone that suggested everything was negotiable, the words she uttered carried a chilling undertone.
