Chapter 157 Flaw
The woman responded to Xu Miaomiao.
Even if this matter was settled, with more people helping, they wouldn't have to be as tired as they were in the past few days. Xu Miaomiao couldn't wait to go home and tell everyone about it.
With everyone's help, the land was quickly planted. Xu Miaomiao did not plant potatoes and sweet potatoes in it, but instead moved corn stalks in. Looking at the green cornfield, Xu Miaomiao felt happy in her heart. She would be able to eat sweet and sticky corn next year.
Because she cherishes the cornfield, Xu Miaomiao comes here to check on it every now and then.
It was originally a piece of wasteland. After Xu Miaomiao bought it, she also reclaimed and bought the nearby land. Now the whole land is planted with corn.
It’s a half-high cornfield, and if you walk in it, you really can’t see clearly what’s going on inside.
Xu Miaomiao followed the path in to take a look, only to find that the original cornfield had been flattened by someone, and there was another path along the way.
Xu Miaomiao walked along the path curiously but still found nothing unusual. This path led directly to the mountain outside. Thinking that it was done by some naughty kid, Xu Miaomiao did not think much about it.
Gu Yuanniang also didn't like to stay at home idle, and often went to the shops in the county to check out the things.
For a while, Song Weiwei and Lian'er were the only ones left at home. They didn't like each other and simply locked themselves in the house. Only Song Weiwei would go to check on her good sister Wang Huan from time to time.
The house was quiet and lonely. Lian'er looked around to make sure no one was following her before she left.
But just as she left, she was seen by Song Weiwei who was returning home.
"Weiwei, isn't that the Lian'er you mentioned?"
Wang Huan pointed at the sneaky figure and asked.
Looking in the direction of her finger, a white figure flashed by, and Song Weiwei's curiosity was aroused: "You go back first, I'll go see what she is going to do."
Wang Huan nodded, looked at Song Weiwei and said, "That person is gone. Be careful."
Song Weiwei nodded in response and followed Lian'er away.
Lian'er looked around and came to a forest, where a pigeon landed beside her.
Lian'er took out a roll of paper from her arms and stuffed it between the pigeon's feet.
Aren't all her family members dead? Song Weiwei thought to herself. She was about to confront Lian'er but turned away after thinking about it. It was more important to tell Xu Miaomiao about this first.
"Sister Song, why are you here?"
Lian'er, who had just returned home, saw Song Weiwei waiting anxiously in the yard, so she started asking.
"None of your business."
Song Weiwei tried hard not to reveal her true colors. She looked at Lian'er impatiently and asked, "Why did you go out?"
Hearing this, Lian'er's face trembled twice and she responded: "The weather is nice today, so I'll go out for a walk."
After saying that, he hurried back to the house, fearing that Song Weiwei would discover something unusual.
After Xu Miaomiao returned home, Song Weiwei told her about this.
Hearing this, Xu Miaomiao frowned and was a little reluctant: "Communication? She has no father or mother, so who is she communicating with?"
"I'm curious too, but I still wanted to come back and ask you what to do." Song Weiwei said.
Xu Miaomiao patted Song Weiwei's head with relief: "Our Weiwei has become smarter, but she was brought back by Yu Jinhuai, so we need to ask his opinion first."
Hearing the three words "Yu Jinhuai", Song Weiwei grumbled in dissatisfaction: "Yu Jinhuai just didn't figure it out and brought the person back casually."
Although Xu Miaomiao told Yu Jinhuai about this matter, the man acted as if nothing had happened and just told Xu Miaomiao that he had his own arrangements. Xu Miaomiao did not ask any more questions.
"Where did you go today?" Song Weiwei said to Lian'er while eating.
Lian'er was visibly nervous for a moment, and after she came to her senses, she slowly spoke: "I went to the place you took me to before."
"That's strange. I've been there all day, but why didn't I see you?" Xu Miaomiao asked.
Although Yu Jinhuai did not intend to investigate the identity of this woman, she had been living in their house after all, so Xu Miaomiao still had to find out.
"Maybe it's because I only stood there for a while and then left, so Sister Xu didn't notice it." Lian'er explained hurriedly.
Xu Miaomiao nodded.
"Your skirt got dirty when you went there before, but it's clean today." Song Weiwei looked at the hem of her skirt and said.
Lian'er was stunned for a moment, a hint of viciousness flashed in her eyes, then disappeared. She put down the chopsticks in her hand, picked up the handkerchief and started crying: "I just wanted to do something to help my sister, why doesn't my sister believe me?"
She looked aggrieved and pitiful. If Song Weiwei hadn't seen her release the pigeon with her own eyes, she would have believed it.
"It's not that I don't believe you. Weiwei is just concerned. Do you have any other relatives in your family besides you?" Xu Miaomiao asked.
Lian'er shook her head and choked up, "No, my parents and brothers all died in the famine, leaving me alone."
"I see. Miss Lian'er, eat more."
Xu Miaomiao picked up a piece of vegetable and put it into Lian'er's bowl, then glanced at Song Weiwei.
After what happened last time, Xu Miaomiao specifically told Song Weiwei to keep an eye on Lian'er and tell them immediately if there was any disturbance.
After a few days, Song Weiwei finally found an opportunity.
As soon as Lian'er showed up, Song Weiwei immediately went to inform Xu Miaomiao and Yu Jinhuai.
The three of them followed Song Weiwei to a forest, which was the place where Lian'er had released the pigeons last time.
The woman was seen standing in the woods, blowing at her little finger, and a dove flew down from the sky.
As usual, Lian'er tied a piece of paper between the pigeon's legs and let it fly away.
Just as it was flying up, Yu Jinhuai picked up a stone and threw it at the pigeon. Due to gravity, the pigeon fell to the ground and died.
"who!"
Seeing the pigeon fall to the ground, Lian'er immediately looked around vigilantly.
I saw Xu Miaomiao and a few others walking out from the woods nearby.
"Didn't you say you have no relatives? Who is this note for?" Xu Miaomiao looked at her and said.
Yu Jinhuai picked up the notebook beside him, only to see that it was blank.
"I felt something was wrong with you from the beginning. You said you were from the south, but you had spices on you that were only used in the Liang country. That's why I brought you to my side to see what your plan was." Yu Jinhuai looked at Lian'er and said.
"So you have suspected me for a long time." Lian'er looked at Yu Jinhuai and said, no longer having her previous weak look.
"You are from the Liang Kingdom's royal family."
"That's right." Lian'er looked at Yu Jinhuai with bloodshot eyes: "Sixth Prince, I like you so much. When His Majesty said I wanted to be a spy, I immediately stood up just to see you again, but you actually like such a mediocre woman!"
