Chapter 8 Poisoning

Chapter 8 Poisoning

Dabao had a complicated expression on his face, and after a long while he muttered, "You didn't care about us before, what do you want to do now?"

Xu Miaomiao fell silent. Dabao was the most mature child, and he was the least defensive. It seemed that it would take some time for him to make him believe her.

Taking out two candies from her arms and putting them in Dabao's hands, Xu Miaomiao said, "I hid two for you, otherwise your brothers and sisters would have eaten them all."

After saying that, Xu Miaomiao turned around and left with the firewood.

The small figure was left staring at the candy in his hand in a daze.

Coming to the kitchen, Xu Miaomiao happily opened the rice and prepared to make a delicious rice meal for the child.

But the freshly washed rice gives off a faint fragrance, which you won’t be able to smell unless you ask carefully.

Xu Miaomiao frowned, took out the rice and sniffed it, thinking that the owner of the rice shop had figured out what was going on, but the rice in the bag only gave off a rice aroma.

Staring at the well beside him, Xu Miaomiao quickly drew a bucket of water.

Under the sunlight, the originally clear water turned a little black.

Frightened, he quickly ran into the house and knocked over the small bowl that Erbao was drinking water from.

Erbao was so scared that he was trembling. Dabao stood in front of Erbao and looked disdainful in his heart: Ha, you can't go on acting anymore?

Xu Miaomiao squatted down and asked anxiously: "Erbao, have you drunk it?"

"Drink, take a sip."

Xu Miaomiao started to talk to Erbao's throat and held the girl upside down on his lap: "Quick, spit it out, this water is not clean."

Erbao coughed twice, but nothing came out.

He looked at Xu Miaomiao aggrievedly: "Mom, is Erbao going to die?"

Xu Miaomiao gave her the detoxification pill with a distressed look on her face: "Don't worry, mother will cure you."

Xu Miaomiao comforted Erbao and took her pulse. After having diarrhea twice and making sure that Erbao was fine, Xu Miaomiao breathed a sigh of relief and looked at her own well.

Someone had put the juice of the Sangyue Flower in the well, which was the same poison that Song Wushao was poisoned with. Fortunately, Erbao didn't drink much, so he had diarrhea for two days at most.

But who is so vicious as to want to kill his entire family?

Xu Miaomiao's eyes darkened and the shoe prints by the well caught her attention.

The soles of the shoes left prints on the plum blossoms and left traces by the well.

But most of the people in the village are poor and cannot afford such exquisite shoes.

Come to think of it, there is only one person who can wear it.

Sure enough, the next afternoon.

Xu Miaomiao saw Wang Xing'er sneaking around her and immediately grabbed her out.

Seeing Xu Miaomiao was safe and sound, he was shocked: "Xu Miaomiao, what are you doing! Let me go."

Xu Miaomiao ignored her and called the nearby neighbors to speak: "Everyone, Wang Xing'er poisoned my well, and my second baby is suffering from diarrhea. If I hadn't discovered it in time, I'm afraid my whole family would have died."

Wang Xing'er's face was dark, and her tone was a little stuttering: "You said it was me, you, what evidence do you have!!!"

"Yes, Madam Song, you can't talk nonsense without evidence."

"Of course I have the evidence."

Then he took the villagers to the other side of the well, pointed at the plum blossom shoe prints on the ground and said, "Look, everyone. Apart from Madam Wang, who else in our village can afford to wear shoes with plum blossoms on the soles?"

"So what?" Wang Xing'er pushed Xu Miaomiao away and said in defense, "Even if it's my shoe prints, how can you prove that I poisoned you? Maybe you did it yourself and you're putting the blame on me!"

"Yes, Madam Song, the presence of shoe prints cannot prove that it was you or she who poisoned me."

The villagers nearby echoed.

Xu Miaomiao was not in a hurry, and said thoughtfully: "Someone has put the juice of the Sangyue Flower in my well. Once this juice gets on your hands, it is difficult to get rid of it. We can test whether there is any Sangyue Flower juice on Madam Wang's hands."

Wang Xing'er's face immediately changed, and she started to throw a tantrum: "Why are you testing me? Let me go, I want to go home!!!"

The surrounding villagers did not tolerate her either. Some of them pulled her and wouldn't let her leave, while a few others went to ask for help from the village doctor.

"Madam Wang, please test it to prove your innocence and give Madam Song some protection."

Looking for the source of the voice, the people speaking were the two brothers who had argued with Xu Miaomiao two days ago. Xu Miaomiao immediately gave them a grateful look.

After a while, the village doctor hurried over with his medical box.

"Something happened, and it took an old man like me to rush over here."

"Mr. Xu, please help me see if there is anything dirty in my well."

Hearing this, the old man did not hesitate. He immediately sniffed the water and took out the silver needle to try.

He said with some surprise: "Someone has put the juice of the Sorrowful Moon Flower in this water, and the amount is not enough. Who wants to kill you?"

"Then we have to ask Miss Wang." Xu Miaomiao said.

After that, the villager pulled Wang Xing'er forward and said, "Mr. Xu, take a look at Madam Wang's hand."

The old man smelled it, wiped Wang Xing'er's hand with a white cloth, and immediately came up with a conclusion after looking at the stain on the cloth: "It is the juice of the Sangyue Flower."

Everyone was talking about it, looking at Wang Xing'er's face like a rat crossing the street, pointing at her.

"She is so vicious. I misjudged her."

The people on the side echoed: "Yes, yes, who would dare to marry such a vicious woman?"

Wang Xing'er slumped on the ground, her expression was empty, her eyes were bloodshot and she stared at Xu Miaomiao, pointing at her and shouting, "It's all your fault. If it weren't for you, I would have been with Young Master Song a long time ago. How could this happen? It's all your fault!!!"

After saying that, he went to hit Xu Miaomiao, but was stopped by two sharp-eyed brothers standing nearby.

"So you're still thinking about Mr. Song. You're so shameless."

The woman next to her also said, "I hate women who are obsessed with other people's husbands. They are disgusting and should be beaten to death."

"That's right, such a vicious person should be beaten to death."

"Who are you going to kill?"

A steady and serious voice was heard, and everyone looked over to see the village chief slowly approaching.

The village chief has been in office for nearly thirty years. Whenever people have problems, they ask him for help. He is considered a highly respected elder.

Wang Xing'er was his only daughter, and when they saw him coming, everyone fell silent.

Xu Miaomiao said, "Village Chief Wang, Wang Xing'er poisoned and tried to kill our family. You have to give us an explanation."

Seeing the village chief coming, Wang Xing'er timidly said, "Dad, you have to save me, Dad."

The village chief pushed her away, slapped her, then turned to look at Xu Miaomiao and said, "Madam Song, my daughter did something wrong, but since she didn't hurt anyone, can you please let her go? I will teach her a lesson when I get back."

When the man said this, everyone was uneasy and had no objection.

Xu Miaomiao sneered: "How come no one was hurt? My second baby had diarrhea for several days. If I hadn't discovered it in time, what I would see now would be her corpse!!!"

"Yes, yes, yes." The man said with his hands clasped, "It's my daughter's fault, but I'll let her go just because I've been busy for the village for so many years."

When the villagers heard this, they all relaxed a little and immediately persuaded Xu Miaomiao to leave: "Madam Song, why don't we just let it go."

"Yes, Madam Song, the village chief has paid too much for our village, so don't worry about it."

Xu Miaomiao said disdainfully: "But what can I do if my well is polluted like this?"

"Don't worry, Madam Song. We will compensate you so that you can dig a new well."

Xu Miaomiao nodded. With so many people out there and the village chief being so respectful, she really couldn't push her luck any further.

But Wang Xing'er still needed to teach this guy a lesson. Xu Miaomiao had an idea and took advantage of Wang Xing'er's absence to sprinkle some itching powder on her. This guy had to suffer.
