Chapter 16: Silk Shop Incident

Chapter 16: Silk Shop Incident

"Madam Song, are you leaving?"

As soon as Xu Miaomiao went out, she ran into matchmaker Li. Matchmaker Li pulled her aside mysteriously and whispered, "Miaomiao, your guy hasn't woken up for so long, how about I find one for you."

Xu Miaomiao's eyes widened in disbelief, and she quickly waved her hand to refuse: "No, no, thank you for your kindness."

Seeing that Matchmaker Li wanted to talk to her, Xu Miaomiao simply said, "I've only been with Song Wushao in my life."

Seeing that she was so stubborn, Matchmaker Li didn't know what to say.

But since that day, everyone in the village has been praising Xu Miaomiao for his deep love and loyalty.

The early morning sun avoided the clouds and shone on the ground, and the thin first snow showed signs of dissipating.

Xu Miaomiao stretched her waist, picked up the packed rabbit fur and prepared to take it to the market to sell.

"Ah, help! Help!"

As soon as she reached the village entrance, Xu Miaomiao was awakened by a cry for help.

Looking in the direction the sound came from, the house where Liu Quezi lived.

"Hey, Madam Song, are you going to the market too?"

Wu Zhuang drove the donkey cart and looked at Xu Miaomiao.

Xu Miaomiao nodded.

"Then come on up, I'll give you a ride."

"Thank you very much."

Xu Miaomiao put the backpack on the car and climbed on it without any hesitation.

As the donkey cart swayed, Xu Miaomiao's body swayed with it.

The only sound in her ears was the sound of Wu Zhuang driving the donkey. After a long while, Xu Miaomiao asked, "I just passed by and heard Liu Quezi's family screaming. What happened?"

"Alas." Wu Zhuang sighed and pretended to be thoughtful. "That Liu Zhuang was not a good person. He was very stingy. Wang Xing'er's brother spent a lot of money on buying a wife, so Wang Xing'er stole money and gave it to her parents every now and then. When she was discovered, she was beaten and scolded every day."

Xu Miaomiao lowered her head, not knowing what to say for a moment. Every family has its own problems, and Wang Xing'er could not blame anyone else.

When they arrived at the market, Xu Miaomiao said thank you to Wu Zhuang and turned to leave.

Xu Miaomiao followed her memory and found the silk shop, but the shop that used to be crowded with people was now empty, and even the door was tightly closed.

Instead, there are many more small vendors selling rabbit pendants on the street.

Xu Miaomiao's heart sank, and she knocked on the door of the silk shop with curiosity.

After a long while, a violent voice came from inside: "Is it over yet? We have already closed the door, what else do you want?"

Xu Miaomiao frowned and said tentatively: "The boss is me."

After a while, the door was pushed open a little. The man peeked in suspiciously, and only breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that it was really Xu Miaomiao. He pulled Xu Miaomiao in and closed the door again.

Before Xu Miaomiao could react, she saw that the once magnificent shop was now in dire straits, with wooden shelves lying on the side and not even propped up, and the rabbit tail pendants that had been selling well were thrown on the ground and no one was interested in buying them.

"Boss, what's going on?"

The man sighed, shook his head and said, "Business is so good that people are jealous of it."

"Is someone here to cause trouble?" Xu Miaomiao asked tentatively.

"More than that!" The man said angrily, his teeth clattering. "They accused me of having problems with my stuff. I searched for a while.

The gang smashed my store and sent people to my door every day to insult me, while they themselves were selling inferior products outside. "

"Have you reported it to the police?"

The man shook his head: "It's reported, but without evidence, it's hard for the officials to make a conclusion."

Xu Miaomiao pondered for a moment and said, "Do you know who is the mastermind behind this?"

The man shook his head.

Xu Miaomiao understood what was going on. She picked up the rabbit fur jewelry that had fallen on the ground and examined it. She pinched the rabbit fur and put it to her nose and smelled it carefully.

"It's been painted with itching powder."

"What?" The man stepped forward anxiously and said, "My lady, don't talk nonsense. My things are strictly made and absolutely clean."

"Boss, this thing is obviously put there by someone else." Xu Miaomiao thought for a while and continued to look: "Has anyone suspicious come to this store?"

"Suspicious people?" The boss thought as he walked, then paused and said, "I remember a few days ago, there were a few men who came to my shop in a sneaky way, but they didn't buy anything. It was very strange."

"Then if we meet them again, the boss might recognize them?"

The boss patted his chest confidently and said, "Of course!"

Xu Miaomiao nodded and smiled knowingly: "Then let's go together to see who drugged me."

The two looked at everyone in the market, and suddenly the boss paused, pulled Xu Miaomiao and pointed to the front: "It's them, it's them."

Looking in the direction he was looking at, he saw the Duan family's silk shop, where several young men were trying their best to promote their products.

Xu Miaomiao handed the boss a rabbit pendant and said, "I'll make this gesture later, and you can come in and act accordingly."

The boss nodded.

As soon as Xu Miaomiao stepped into the silk shop, she was surrounded by people holding a rabbit tail pendant to promote it.

"Ma'am, this is our hot new product, and it sells very well."

Xu Miaomiao chuckled, put the things on and looked in the mirror. After a while, she saw small red bumps on her neck.

"It's so itchy." Xu Miaomiao scratched it and pointed at the boss and said, "There's something wrong with this thing of yours."

The young man was horrified and quickly called the boss.

The man smiled and said, "Madam, are you allergic to something or did you eat something by mistake?"

"Your rabbit pendant is not clean. Is it made of rabbit fur?"

Xu Miaomiao asked loudly, and soon a lot of people gathered to watch.

The boss's face changed, and his tone trembled a little: "Madam, don't talk nonsense!"

Xu Miaomiao squeezed out a few tears in grievance: "I have been sensitive to these since I was a child. If it was pure rabbit hair, I would never be allergic. Yours is obviously not."

"You're talking nonsense!" The boss was so shocked and angry that he couldn't speak.

"A few days ago, I bought some from another silk shop and there was no problem at all."

Xu Miaomiao continued to speak.

As soon as this was said, the people around him quickly agreed: "Yes, there was no problem with the one I bought before. The fur here is indeed not as smooth as before."

The boss picked up his rabbit fur ornament anxiously, muttering to himself, "It's impossible that I ordered the wrong one. It's obviously theirs."

Hearing his muttering, Xu Miaomiao smiled and said, "What are you talking about, Boss? You're not going to poison this, are you?"

The man was very emotional and quickly looked up at Xu Miaomiao: "Don't talk nonsense, it was their family who poisoned! Not our family!"

"How do you know their family was poisoned? It wasn't you who did it."

"You!" The boss pointed at Xu Miaomiao angrily.

Xu Miaomiao cleaned up the back, and the man came forward impatiently with the rabbit hair.

"Okay Duan Shi, I couldn't believe it all along. It turned out that you were the one who poisoned my things."

"What evidence do you have!"

"That's easy." Xu Miaomiao clapped her hands and said, "Just search to see if there's any itching powder and you'll know."
