Chapter 13 I Can't Coax People
The man sitting inside was humming a song leisurely. A shadow blocked his view. The man stood up and looked carefully at the boy in front of him.
Within a few seconds, he raised his lips and smiled: "Is this the helper you found?"
The man's contemptuous tone and mocking expression made Cen Nian furious, but she didn't dare to face him head-on and just stood next to Jin Siyang.
Jin Siyang didn't look angry at all. He just stood there calmly, as if nothing could stir up his emotions.
"Cellphone." Jin Siyang nodded towards the scattered cellphones.
The man smiled: "Eight hundred, do you want to repair it?" He looked the boy up and down. The clothes and watch on the boy's wrist were very expensive. He looked so young and had such conditions. He must be a rich young man. Thinking of this, he asked for the price more firmly.
"Do I look easy to talk to?" Jin Siyang's voice was cold and heavy, and his aura was more oppressive than before: "Put the phone back in my pocket. This is a notification, not a negotiation."
"Boy, do you think I'm scared?"
"I'm not interested in how you grew up." Jin Siyang looked a bit too lazy to deal with such people. His eyes were indifferent, and he had an attitude of not taking others seriously. "It's a domestically produced machine. The price of a new one is no more than 1,500 yuan. All the parts inside can be shipped from Shenzhen. Need I say more?"
The man's arrogance weakened a little, and there was a change in his eyes when he looked at Jin Siyang.
Jin Siyang's voice was low and slow, without any emotional fluctuations, but it gave people an invisible sense of oppression: "Fraudulent price-raising, whether it's the Municipal Supervision Bureau or the Police Bureau, it will keep you busy for a while."
The man felt scared, and he deliberately shouted: "Okay, okay! But I tell you, this machine has been disassembled, and I just cleaned it. The things inside might be gone."
"What?!" Cen Nian said in disbelief.
"It's none of my business. It's your fault that your computer is so bad."
Half an hour later, Cen Nian followed Jin Siyang and left. He stood at the intersection and called for a taxi. Cen Nian looked at the completely "lifeless" phone in his hand, and thought of what the man had just said, and his eyes couldn't help but turn red.
There are photos and videos she took of her grandmother in it. She thought it would be a keepsake, but who knew...
While waiting for the bus, Jin Siyang glanced at her and asked, "Are you crying?"
Cen Nian looked at him in panic, a tear running down her cheek uncontrollably.
She wanted to open her mouth to say something, but Jin Siyang looked away: "Let me make it clear first, I don't know how to coax people. If you want to cry, cry here first."
Cen Nian bit her lip, her voice choked with sobs: "It's not that I don't want to use the new phone Uncle Jin bought me, I just want to fix this. My grandma saved up money to buy this for me, and it contains photos and videos of my grandma."
Jin Siyang didn't say anything. He stood beside her like an outsider. To outsiders, they looked like two strangers.
Cen Nian slowed down and said, "Forget it. This matter was originally my fault. I was too stupid. Not only did I fail to repair the phone, but the things inside it are also gone."
"Luckily, my phone is back, so I can keep a memory of it." Cen Nian gave herself a psychological massage, "Jin Siyang, thank you."
As soon as he finished speaking, the car that Jin Siyang called stopped in front of them. Cen Nian got in. She didn't ask where they were going. Jin Siyang would not sell her out.
The night in Jiang City is particularly prosperous. As the lights come on, the lights of the modern buildings light up at the same time, adding a few unique colors to this modern city.
The vehicle drove to the entrance of a luxurious shopping mall. Cen Nian followed behind Jin Siyang. He had long legs, so his steps were naturally bigger. Cen Nian had to jog for a while before she could catch up with his back.
The mall was clean and luxurious, with a simple platinum color scheme. As she entered, the cool breeze from the central air-conditioning came slowly with a faint scent of perfume. She remembered that Aunt Liu had brought her here to buy clothes last time.
Jin Siyang and the others seem to like coming here very much.
The elevator went directly to the fifth floor, and Cen Nian followed Jin Siyang to a Western restaurant. The restaurant had a simple style, and the dark design made the environment look more comfortable and quiet.
The waiter found them a seat for two. As soon as they sat down, two menus were handed to them respectively. Jin Siyang was very familiar with them. He flipped through them casually and ordered three dishes. After ordering, he looked up at the person opposite him.
The rectangular menu covered Cen Nian's face, so the waiter and Jin Siyang couldn't see her frightened expression.
A steak for 599! What a steal! She flipped through the boxes again. The cheapest steak was 299, and a bowl of pasta started at 200. She stared blankly, not noticing that the waiter and Jin Siyang were waiting for her.
After half a minute, Jin Siyang asked, "Have you chosen?"
Cen Nian put down the menu and smiled awkwardly: "Well... almost."
She slowly pointed her index finger at a bowl of golden pumpkin porridge on the menu, priced at 66 yuan: "I want to eat this."
The waiter still had that polite smile on his face: "Yes, ma'am."
On the other hand, Jin Siyang glanced at him with his dark eyes. Cen Nian timidly explained, "I, I'm not very hungry today."
Jin Siyang said solemnly: "Are there any dietary restrictions?"
Cen Nian shook his head: "I'm not picky about food, really."
He handed the menu to the waiter: "I ordered two, and an extra bowl of pumpkin porridge."
"Okay, please wait."
Cen Nian also felt embarrassed. After the waiter left, she and Jin Siyang were the only ones left. She silently moved forward and whispered, "Jin Siyang, you ordered too much and we can't finish it, and..." This is too expensive. She suddenly couldn't say these four words.
Jin Siyang typed with his eyes downcast, and said leisurely: "A bowl of porridge doesn't seem to be the amount for your dinner."
"Ah?" Cen Nian's mouth twitched, and he chuckled awkwardly: "Really..."
She admitted that she ate a lot when she was at home, mainly because the dishes cooked by Aunt Liu were delicious and all went well with rice, so she ate more.
After hearing what he said, Cen Nian didn't want to see anyone even more.
Two steaks were placed in front of them. Jin Siyang picked up the knife and fork. He moved slowly and his gestures were elegant. He ate in the same way, at a moderate speed, and his eating manners were very attractive.
Cen Nian took a few more glances, and finally followed his example, picking up the knife and fork and cutting the steak like him.
When you put a piece of steak into your mouth, the light taste of sea salt and the umami of the steak itself mix together.
The steak was tender yet chewy. Cen Nian had a habit of smiling when he ate something delicious, and his eyes were full of happiness and appreciation for the food.
Delicious! So delicious!
Jin Siyang drew a piece of paper, and seeing this, Cen Nian also drew one.
Later, the chicken salad was served with a whole fresh avocado in it. It was her first time eating avocado.
After Cen Nian finished eating, she wiped her mouth and finished all of her portion, including the pumpkin porridge that Jin Siyang ordered for her.
Jin Siyang glanced at him casually: "Are you full?"
"Yeah, I'm full!" Thinking of how she had just ordered a bowl of pumpkin porridge, Cen Nian's face turned slightly red after she finished speaking.
Jin Siyang didn't notice the change in her expression. He stood up and said, "Let's go."
