Chapter 4: Encounter

Chapter 4: Encounter

The shopping mall in Jiang City is so big that you can't see the end of it. Aunt Liu took Cen Nian for a walk as if she was taking her own child. Seeing Cen Nian's curious and surprised look, she was happy too, and there was a bit more pity in her eyes.

The top floor of the mall is the entertainment area. Aunt Liu asked Cen Nian to walk around nearby. She turned to another area, thinking of buying a cake for her child.

Cen Nian didn't dare to go far, and kept walking back and forth in the area on the top floor, stopping and starting. There were many people coming and going, most of them young people.

"Wuhu~good!"

“That’s awesome!”

There was a commotion not far away. Cen Nian looked up and saw a circle over there. She looked back but didn't see Aunt Liu. She couldn't help but walk over to watch the fun out of curiosity.

She squeezed in a circle outside and finally found a gap. In the middle of the crowd stood a huge dance machine, with foreign songs playing on the speakers with a lively rhythm. A girl stood on the dance machine, with a bold and confident demeanor, not afraid of the gazes of the people around her. She was confident and generous, and her appearance was as bright as the sun.

Cen Nian was stunned for a moment. When he came to his senses again, the dance machine music suddenly entered the dance part. The girl matched every beat accurately, and her dance moves were clean and beautiful. The score and combo on the screen were getting higher and higher.

The cheers around him continued to grow louder, and Cen Nian couldn't help but applaud along with the crowd.

The girl froze at the last beat, her breathing a little hurried, and she looked in a certain direction with a smile. Cen Nian followed her gaze and saw an unexpected person.

There were several boys and girls standing next to the dance machine, forming a circle. A unique aura separated them from the others, and the boy in the middle stood out from the crowd.

Jin Siyang stood upright and casually, his brows relaxed. Although he didn't smile, he had the relaxed air of someone familiar. A boy next to him hooked his shoulder and said to the dancing girl, "Damn, Cheng Yiwen, awesome! Full marks!"

Another girl handed Cheng Yiwen some water, and they left in a mighty group.

Cen Nian withdrew his gaze and quickly ran back to his original place, just as Aunt Liu came back.

When we returned to the Jin family, it was dusk. Uncle Li had prepared dinner, but Mr. Jin still wasn't coming back tonight.

Cen Nian sat on the sofa, lost in thought as he watched the news broadcast.

There were some noises coming from the entrance. She turned back blankly and met Jin Siyang's indifferent gaze. Cen Nian subconsciously pursed her lips and thought to herself that she should not have turned back earlier. It was really awkward to look at each other.

He said nothing and looked away.

Aunt Liu was a little happy to see the visitor: "Si Yang, it's just right that you're back. It's time to have dinner."

Jin Siyang's eyes swept over Cen Nian without leaving a trace. His voice was cold: "I have eaten, you guys eat."

After saying that, he went upstairs without looking back. Aunt Liu said as if it was nothing new. "Niannian, come over for dinner."

Cen Nian nodded stiffly and walked towards the dining room. There were four dishes and a soup on the table. They were nutritious, colorful, fragrant and delicious.

She thought Uncle Li and Aunt Liu would sit down and eat together, but they just said it was against the rules and let Cen Nian sit at the table to eat.

Cen Nian took two mouthfuls of rice. The huge dining room seemed particularly empty because she was the only one there. She stood up and walked towards the kitchen. Uncle Li and Aunt Liu were sitting in another room. Although the table here was not as big as the one in the dining room, it looked warmer and more homely.

"Oh, Nian Nian, why are you here? Are you not liking the food?" Aunt Liu asked with concern.

Cen Nian shook his head: "No, Aunt Liu, Uncle Li's cooking is really delicious, but it's a bit lonely for me to eat alone. How about I eat with you guys later?"

At that moment, she finally realized that Jin Siyang didn't want to eat because he probably didn't want to eat with her. She could find a place to eat, standing or sitting anywhere. She was not picky.

"What are you talking about, Nian Nian? Our dining area is small. Besides, it's not appropriate for you to eat with us."

Cen Nian looked around. Although the dining room here was not as big as the one in the villa, it was not small. It was even bigger than the home she and her grandmother lived in. Moreover, it was decorated very warmly, and it was obvious that it was Aunt Liu's work.

She hesitated and finally made this decision. Once the words came out, there was no room for redemption. She had no choice but to cling to Aunt Liu: "Aunt Liu, it's so boring for me to eat alone. Eating with you is just like eating at home. Just agree to it."

Aunt Liu thought she was just being childish and wanted someone to accompany her for dinner, but the girl's coquettish tone was very endearing. She smiled and said, "Nian Nian, don't you want to eat alone? From now on, Si Yang will eat with you, so you won't be lonely."

Oh my God, he was eating with her. She couldn't even imagine this scene.

Aunt Liu was worried that the child was hungry and said, "You can eat with us when no one is around."

Cen Nian smiled calmly: "Thank you, Aunt Liu, Uncle Li."

After finishing her meal, Cen Nian subconsciously cleaned up the dishes, but Uncle Li took the initiative to wash the dishes first. Cen Nian had no choice but to go back to her room. When she passed by Jin Siyang's room, she heard singing from inside.

He played the song very loudly, an English song with a strong sense of rhythm. Cen Nian couldn't help but think of the scene in the afternoon. After the girl finished dancing, she smiled at Jin Siyang with a bold and energetic look.

The song played in the afternoon was also a foreign song. Cen Nian had never listened to much music and she didn't have much musical talent. She was attracted by these English songs with a strong sense of rhythm when she heard them in a trance.

She stood outside the door, breathing lightly, and was lost in thought for less than two seconds when the tightly closed door suddenly opened. Jin Siyang paused slightly and looked up at the person in front of him.

He had no expression on his face, his eyes were indifferent and distant, and that expression seemed to be saying: Is there something wrong?

Cen Nian was caught red-handed. She was standing at the door of his room. The feeling of being caught on the spot was really embarrassing. She looked flustered and said, "The song is very nice."

Jin Siyang ignored her. Just after taking two steps, Cen Nian stammered, "From now on, I will eat with Uncle Li and Aunt Liu."

She threw out this sentence without any context, and was about to explain, but seeing his indifferent look on her back, she shut her mouth in time.

Cen Nian wanted to explain that he didn't need to hide deliberately. If he didn't want to see her, she could just avoid him.

But Jin Siyang didn't seem to understand what she meant. His tone was calm, and the ending tone rose with a hint of doubt: "Who you want to have dinner with is none of my business."

“…”

An embarrassed blush crept up her cheeks. Cen Nian was about to explain, but Jin Siyang seemed a little impatient at being called. He ignored her and walked straight downstairs.

He really hated her. No matter what, no one would be happy to have an uninvited guest in the house.

She didn't know whether the high school she was about to attend had accommodation. She didn't have much money, but her grandmother left her some money before she left, which was enough for her to use for food throughout her high school career.

If she lived in the school dormitory, Jin Siyang might not hate her so much, and she would feel less guilty.

After graduating from high school, she can still work part-time. Her former neighbor uncle always said that there are many opportunities in Jiang City. As long as you are willing to work hard, you will not have to worry about making money.

Thinking of this, Cen Nian felt a little comforted.

As the night deepened, she lay in bed, drowsy and about to fall asleep, when she heard the door of the opposite room closing.
