Chapter 75 Holding Hands

Chapter 75 Holding Hands

"What do you want to say?"

Cen Nian couldn't say anything for a long time. What did he want to ask?

Ask him if he was looking at her just now, ask him if he likes her?

Just thinking about this scared Cen Nian enough. She shook her head and said, "Nothing."

Jin Siyang nodded, didn't ask any more questions, and just walked away.

There were loud hawking sounds on the street. Cen Nian looked at the cakes on the stalls and felt a little tempted.

She poked Jin Siyang's hand and said, "Wait a minute, I want to buy this to eat."

Jin Siyang followed her gaze, his brows furrowed even deeper. He spoke in a low voice, "Cen Nian, there are cars and pedestrians coming and going. These cakes are covered in bacteria. Besides, the color of normal cakes shouldn't be so bright."

"But I want to eat it. I've eaten it before." Cen Nian ignored him and bought one to eat.

Seeing that he couldn't persuade her, Jin Siyang looked at the pastry in her hand with a little disgust.

She seems to enjoy eating everything, and has a big appetite, but she can't gain weight.

Cen Nian took a big bite. It tasted sweet and slightly sour, not the normal sourness, but more like the sourness from the previous night.

She took another bite out of disbelief, and when she got to the middle part that had a strong sour smell, she spat out with a painful expression: "This, why does this stink!"

Jin Siyang handed her a tissue, his eyes full of "I knew it". Seeing Cen Nian's uncomfortable look from the smoke, he went to the nearby convenience store to buy a bottle of water, opened the lid and handed it to her: "Let it go."

Cen Nian took it guiltily: "Thank you..."

"Do you still want to eat? I'll buy them all for you." Jin Siyang said with a smile.

Cen Nian rolled his eyes at him silently, muttering, "You really hold a grudge."

After what happened just now, when Cen Nian saw the vendors selling things again, although he couldn't help himself, he naturally didn't dare to buy anything when he saw the cold-faced boy in front of him.

The streets and houses in Ningcheng are a bit old, and overall it is out of tune with Jiang City. There is no rapidly developing economy, nor is there a sense of fashion everywhere. Everything here is so simple and unpretentious.

Jin Siyang was walking in the city she was most familiar with. He looked straight ahead, with an upright posture, and walked casually and leisurely.

Cen Nian followed behind him, and when he had some free time, he couldn't help but think back to what his senior sister had just said.

How could Jin Siyang like her? She wasn't that good. Her grades weren't outstanding, she hadn't learned any special skills, and her mind was always confused. She hadn't seen much of the world, and she didn't have the same favorable conditions as him.

Jin Siyang's family is not just good, he is truly good, good-looking, recognized by everyone in the affiliated high school as the school idol, with a good family background, top grades, and a... nice personality and good character. Anyway, Cen Nian has never heard of any gossip about him, except for his mysophobia and frigidity.

She had been to his room, he had won first place in a piano competition, he had practiced Taekwondo, and there were many other things she didn't know.

But she has nothing and knows nothing.

Ningcheng is destined to be incomparable to Jiang City, because it is incompatible with such a prosperous metropolis, just like her and Jin Siyang.

So Senior Lin, she just saw it wrong. She, Cen Nian, may be confused occasionally, but she knows herself well.

Noon had arrived, and the sun overhead was growing brighter. Its warm halo shone on the ground, making the two people's shadows extremely clear.

The trees on both sides of the road had been stripped of their branches, leaving only bare trunks and the shadows of the two of them.

Cen Nian stared blankly at the figure on the ground. She was two steps behind him. Jin Siyang looked straight ahead, his hands hanging by his side swaying slightly as he walked.

As if possessed by a ghost, she stretched out a finger and slowly and hesitantly touched the shadow of his hand.

The distance between their bodies did not change, but her hand slowly moved towards his shadow. Cen Nian's eyes were fixed on her own shadow, watching the shadow of her fingers hooked with the shadow of Jin Siyang's hand. She curled the corners of her lips. From this perspective, their shadows seemed to be holding hands.

Although it was just a shadow, she couldn't control her heartbeat and joy, and the smile on her face gradually brightened.

Cen Nian was staring in a trance. Jin Siyang moved his hand, but she still didn't react.

Until the hand that was originally hanging by the side stretched back, and the hand with distinct knuckles and warmth suddenly grabbed the fingertips that concealed some thoughts.

Cen Nian was stunned. She looked down in disbelief and was in a trance for several seconds. Dreams and reality were so intertwined that she could hardly tell whether she was in a dream or reality.

Jin Siyang held her hand very lightly, as if he was not satisfied with just holding a knuckle. He forcefully but gently broke free from her hand until he held it completely.

The weather was hot and the wind was blowing in gusts, and the warmth in their palms overlapped.

Cen Nian was in a daze for nearly a minute. Her lips parted, her voice trembling uncontrollably as she said, "Jin Siyang, what are you doing?"

Jin Siyang paused and looked at Cen Nian, who was a little behind him. He pulled her to his side and said, "Cen Nian, don't go behind me. Stay next to me."

Suddenly, a gust of wind passed by, echoing his voice: "There are some things you have forgotten, but I remember them for you."

"What's up?"

Jin Siyang's eyes darkened, and his tone slowed down: "You said you liked me, and you also said——" Jin Siyang paused deliberately, and then said softly: "If you get into Beijing University, can I be with you?"

"Cen Nian, this is what you said, don't you remember?"

"How, how, how is it possible? How could I say that?" She was in a panic, eager to prove to him, how could she possibly and how dare she say such a thing?

Jin Siyang narrowed his eyes: "No?" He lowered his eyebrows and said with a bit of coldness: "You won't say that, or don't you like me?"

Her eyes were disordered, betraying her panic. Seeing that he obviously misunderstood, Cen Nian hurriedly explained: "No, that's not what I meant. I just didn't expect..." she would say these words.

He stopped, his long eyelashes casting a shadow under his eyes in the sunlight. He didn't let go of her hand, but held it tightly and led her towards him: "Then stay by my side."

Jin Siyang held her hand. Realizing this situation, Cen Nian suddenly felt a sense of uncertainty as if her dream had come true, as well as a kind of sour excitement.

Tears welled up in Cen Nian's eyes because of her anxiety, making them look even more moist. She looked at their holding hands, and now she was standing side by side with Jin Siyang. He spoke softly, and there was a panic in his eyes that she couldn't understand.

Her throat seemed to be blocked and she couldn't speak. Jin Siyang was quiet and restrained, like a silent pine in the snow.

"Besides, weren't you the one who started it?" Jin Siyang suddenly said, "I just turned the shadow into reality."

Cen Nian's voice was trembling: "Have you seen it a long time ago?"

Jin Siyang seemed to be amused by her and laughed softly: "Cen Nian, I'm not blind yet."

The fingers of the hands holding each other suddenly intertwined, like a tacit seal.
