Chapter 88 Leaving

Chapter 88 Leaving

The moment Cen Nian saw Jin Jingming, panic, nervousness, guilt, and a guilty conscience surged up in her.

She didn't dare to look at Jin Jingming, but just followed him step by step. Jin Jingming took her to the restaurant below the hospital. They faced each other, and he seemed to be looking at someone through Cen Nian's face.

"Xiao Nian, you look a lot like your mother." Jin Jingming said, and then smiled again: "I already know about you and Si Yang."

Cen Nian's breath was slightly choked. She pinched her fingers and apologized sincerely: "I'm sorry, Uncle Jin, it's my fault. I crossed the line."

Jin Jingming funded her schooling and paid for her grandmother's medical treatment. But now, she did this.

Jin Jingming just smiled, looking gentle and elegant: "Xiao Nian, there is nothing wrong with love. I just didn't expect that Si Yang would be so much like me." He laughed at himself.

"But they misunderstood. Cen Huan is not your mother, but your aunt." Jin Jingming's thoughts drifted far away. His eyes looked at Cen Nian, but he seemed not to look at her: "Your aunt and I were college classmates."

Jin Jingming spoke as if he was telling a story. He and Cen Huan met in college. He liked her for a long time. Finally, the two of them got together as they wished, but they broke up because old man Jin said they were not a good match.

Cen Huan loved freedom and had self-respect, so she simply got away. Jin Jingming searched for her for a long time but couldn't find her whereabouts. It was not until many years after his marriage that Jin Jingming made several inquiries and unexpectedly found out Cen Huan's life experience.

She is not a single-parent family. Although she grew up with her father, she has a twin sister and a younger brother.

Unfortunately, beauty was short-lived. Cen Huan's twin sister, Cen Ning, who was also Cen Nian's mother, passed away when Cen Nian was five years old.

So many years had passed, and under such circumstances, Jin Jingming found eight-year-old Cen Nian.

The twins' genes were so strong that Cen Huan and Cen Ning were 90% similar, and that face was perfectly replicated on Cen Nian's face.

Jin Jingming felt a sense of satisfaction at that time. When he had been looking for someone for a long time but couldn't find her, he found her relative, and the face was so similar. Jin Jingming was happy.

He was happy, but it caused misunderstandings, making everyone think that Cen Nian was Cen Huan's daughter. He did not explain for so many years.

Cen Nian was so shocked that she couldn't even utter a word to express her emotions.

So that's how it was. So that's why Mr. Jin and his wife were so estranged. She couldn't tell who was right or wrong. Her aunt was not wrong, Aunt Si was not wrong either. And what about Mr. Jin, who had supported her and helped her for so many years...

She was in an awkward position and had no right to say who was wrong.

"Xiao Nian, have you seen Cen Huan in all these years? Or has she contacted you?"

Cen Nian held back her tears and shook her head.

My grandparents had a bad relationship in their early years, and my grandpa yearned for freedom, which was exactly the same as Cen Huan. So my grandpa loved my aunt the most, and even when he left, he only took my aunt with him. Since then, they have never seen each other again.

Cen Nian had only seen his grandfather and aunt in photos.

Jin Jingming was half disappointed, half understanding: "I knew she wouldn't come back. People like her will never look back."

Cen Nian said hoarsely, "I'm sorry, Uncle Jin. I...I will leave here. Uncle Jin, for all these years, I have been grateful and sorry to you. I'm really sorry, and thank you so much."

"Si Yang's mother has serious mental problems. She can't stand any stimulation. She has been recuperating abroad for many years. She only has Si Yang as her child." Jin Jingming's tone was serious and seemed to have a bit of pity: "Si Yang inherited his personality from us. We are both so stubborn. There are some things that may require you to speak up. Xiao Nian, do you understand what your uncle means?"

Cen Nian nodded, and the moment she closed her eyes, tears fell on the back of her hand: "I know."

After returning to the Jin family, it was almost one in the morning. Cen Nian didn't know how she got back to her room. She sat at the desk with a blank expression. There was silence outside, only the chirping of insects at midnight.

Jin Siyang rushed back. He knocked on the door anxiously. After getting an answer, he saw Cen Nian sitting in the room and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Cen Nian."

Cen Nian had calmed down long ago. She was as usual, but her smile was a little stiff: "Jin Siyang, you're back?"

Jin Siyang choked up, "Cen Nian, listen to me. I don't care whose daughter you are, or what your identity is. I just beg you, don't leave me."

Cen Nian looked at his anxious brows and face, which showed some fatigue, but more of anxiety. His arm was bruised, but he didn't seem to feel any pain at all.

He still didn't know Cen Nian's true identity. Cen Nian smiled inwardly. That was perfect. She couldn't say anything. There was nothing wrong with letting things go as they came.

"Cen Nian, why don't you speak?"

Cen Nian's tone was usually sweet and sweet, but tonight, it sounded a bit colder: "Jin Siyang, you said you don't care, but I do."

"I don't like this. Do you think you're hiding it from me for my own good? Do you know that you're making me feel so ashamed? How can I face Uncle Jin?" Her eyes were straightforward, without any concealment, and her tone was even more firm.

Jin Siyang nervously touched her arm, his voice trembling: "Cen Nian, let's talk."

"I can't talk about it. I don't want to talk about it."

Jin Siyang frowned, suppressing the panic in his heart and trying to observe the emotions on Cen Nian's face. It was obvious that she was lying, her eyes were confused, her tone became weak, and her whole body was as red as a cooked shrimp. But she was not like that now. She was firm, with a bit of anger in her eyes, and she didn't seem to be lying.

Jin Siyang, who had always been as still as a mountain, was actually panicking. His voice was hoarse: "Cen Nian, didn't I say that you would only listen to me? Didn't you agree?"

"Jin Siyang." Cen Nian called him calmly: "I don't want to be with you anymore, and I don't want to see you, Jin Siyang, please let me go."

At the moment when black and white alternated, the sky gradually brightened. Cen Nian packed his luggage and walked out of the Jin family carefully in the dim morning light.

Before leaving, Aunt Liu packed Cen Nian's luggage while crying. Uncle Li stood beside her, saying nothing, with a hint of sadness in his eyes.

She left at daybreak without telling Aunt Liu and Uncle Li. But as she walked out the door, she remembered the first time she came to the Jin family, when she also carried her luggage and walked to the entrance in the same way.

At that time, Jin Siyang was walking in front, leaving her with a casual and unrestrained back view.

Only one year has passed, but so much has happened.

It was always too late to say goodbye. She didn't have time to say goodbye to Zhu Zhiyao and Song Ze, nor did she have time to hand over the essay for the competition to Teacher Jin, nor did she have time to say happy birthday to him in person.

Cen Nian had saved a lot of money. She found a decent hotel to stay in and was busy planning for the future.

If she wants to go to school, she can only return to Ningcheng and Ninggao. She can live on campus. The money she has saved and her grandmother's money should be enough for her to live on for the next year. After the college entrance examination, she can work to support herself.

Thinking of this, she began to rummage through the boxes and drawers to count her savings. The clothes were neatly stacked, and Aunt Liu put all the beautiful clothes she had before in, for all four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter.

Cen Nian felt a pang of sadness in her heart. She pulled out a short-sleeved shirt and a thick envelope fell out of it.
