After ordering a bowl of signature ramen, Song Nanwu found an empty table and sat down.
"Oh, I seem to have lost my wallet." He spoke in R Mandarin, his voice was clear and pleasant, with an exotic flavor, which was unique.
But even though he lost his wallet, there was no trace of anxiety in his tone.
The voice came from the opposite table. Song Nanwu looked up and saw that the person who spoke was a handsome and enchanting young man with mixed-race features, wearing a black knitted hat.
Now, he had a brilliant smile on his face, bright and sunny, very charming, but also a little bit annoying.
"Sir, you are eating and dashing. We will call the police to deal with it." The waiter looked at the boy and said in a cold voice, as if he would send him to see the police if he didn't pay.
The boy smiled and said, "I sent a text message to my friend, asking him to send some money over. Can you wait a moment? I'm not leaving."
The waiter flatly refused, "No, who knows if you are a liar or not? What if you slip away when we are not paying attention?"
"But after you call the police, you still have to wait for my friend to send the money, don't you have to wait too?"
"The police are watching you, so you're safe."
"Oh, then call the police!"
The boy was not afraid at all and looked nonchalant, which immediately made the waiter so angry that the corners of his mouth twitched.
Frowning and glaring at the young man, the waiter took out his phone and was about to dial a number to call the police when a cold voice suddenly interrupted him.
"How much is his bowl of ramen?" Song Nanwu asked the waiter, speaking Mandarin with a slight accent.
The young man looked at Song Nanwu and raised his eyebrows slightly.
Hey, I can't tell where in Country R this accent is from.
Seeing that someone was paying the bill for him, the waiter naturally would not refuse. He walked towards Song Nanwu and named a price.
Just then, the signature ramen that Song Nanwu ordered was delivered. "Let's pay together!"
She took out two bills and handed them over.
The waiter accepted it and then went to the cashier to get the change.
After collecting the money, the waiter ignored the boy and continued to greet other customers who came into the store.
The young man smiled and sat down. He looked at Song Nanwu and said, "Thank you for paying for me. I'll pay you back when my friend comes."
Song Nanwu said coldly, "No need."
"No, I have to pay it back. We don't know each other and I don't like to owe favors to strangers." The boy insisted.
"Oh." Song Nanwu didn't say anything more. She responded lightly and took a spoonful of soup.
Mmm, this soup smells so good.
The boy continued, "Hey, where are you from in Country R? Why can't I recognize your accent?"
"I am Chinese." After taking a mouthful of noodles, Song Nanwu took the time to reply.
"Oh, you're Chinese." The boy's voice became a little excited, and then he seemed to open up his chatterbox and chattered non-stop, "My compatriots, I'm half Chinese too. My mother is Chinese."
Song Nanwu ate ramen without saying a word.
The boy didn't care and continued talking, this time speaking Chinese.
"I was planning to go to China a while ago, but something happened and delayed me, so I'll have to go later. Hey, my name is Gu Sanqing, what's yours?"
"You talk too much." Song Nanwu stopped speaking Mandarin and glanced at him coldly.
Gu Sanqing smiled, "Haha, you're not the first person to say I talk too much, but there's a saying in China that goes, 'In a foreign land, we meet like-minded people.'"
"Meeting an old friend in a foreign land."
"Oh, yes, meeting an old friend in a foreign land, haha, I suddenly forgot about it. Hey, my Chinese is pretty standard, right?"
This guy really talks a lot.
Song Nanwu picked up the noodles with chopsticks and replied lightly, "Yeah."
"My mother has always required me to learn Chinese since I was young. By the way, you haven't told me your name yet?"
Song Nanwu felt that if she didn't tell him, this person would keep asking, so she said coldly, "Song Nanwu."
"Wow, your name is so nice and meaningful."
Song Nanwu: “…”
I don't think so.
"Nan Wu, are you here to travel to Country R?"
"Um."
"Traveling is great. Many places in Country R are quite interesting, and most importantly, there are a lot of delicious food. How many days will you be in Country R? If you have time, we can make an appointment to go out for food together. I know a lot of delicious places."
gourmet food.
Song Nanwu's eyes lit up instantly. She looked at Gu Sanqing and agreed readily, "Okay."
