Chapter 404 I Have No Father

Chapter 404 I Have No Father

In the empty, deserted cave, the dark red campfire crackled and flickered, dispelling the darkness before dawn.

Qin Mo finally opened her eyes, stared blankly at the dappled sunlight on the cave ceiling for a moment, and then came to her senses.

He turned his aching neck and looked around the entire cave, finally confirming that he was the only person in the huge cave.

He was still a little dizzy, and his body was tired and sore. He knew without looking in the mirror that his face was either pale or sallow.

"What a heartless woman! I gave you so much blood, and you just left without even saying goodbye. What if I got carried off by some beast?"

Qin Mo had no idea how many times she had just walked on the edge of death, almost being killed and silenced by her own hundreds-of-years-old "descendant," and was muttering curses to herself.

"hiss!"

Qin Mo struggled to sit up, immediately clutching his lower back, and angrily cursed, "I didn't sleep with that princess, so why am I suffering from kidney deficiency now? I've really lost out big time!"

Qin Mo got up cursing. He was furious. Isabel's condition was critical at the time, and he had given her a lot of blood without thinking. Now he was not only in pain, but also dizzy. And Isabel had just left him there.

On the thousand-foot cliff outside the cave, a blurry, illusory figure hung there. After hearing Qin Mo's cursing, it tried several times to rush in and strangle him, but in the end, it suppressed its anger and remained motionless.

The aroma of roasted meat whetted Qin Mo's appetite. He sniffed and pinpointed the location without even using his senses.

The campfire was almost dead, revealing a small space in the middle made of several stone slabs, which isolated it from the flames and smoke. Inside was a piece of prey, its fat rendered from roasting; judging from its appearance, it must have been a bird when it was alive.

Qin Mo's resentment dissipated considerably. Judging from the way the roasted bird was being handled, Isabel must have sensed that she was about to wake up before leaving.

"Hmm! At least you still have a conscience, but your cooking skills are terrible. It's undercooked, and without oil or salt, it's awful!" Qin Mo said, munching on the food while picking at it.

The blurry black shadow outside the cave trembled a few times, about to rush in and add a splash of color to Qin Mo's life, but in the end it just hummed a few words silently, and its figure gradually faded away and disappeared without a trace.

The storm on the sea finally subsided, and the vampire crew and sailors on the "Crimson Rose" had no time to repair the damaged ship parts before they had to crawl into the cabin.

Most of Africa is in the tropics, and the scorching sun is the natural enemy of vampires. Even the strongest vampires do not want to be exposed to the sun.

Oakes and Mars, looking worried, hid in the observation cabin at the bow of the ship, glancing at the distant beach and forest from time to time.

"Your Highness has been gone for two days. Hasn't he caught up with that Xia person yet? Why hasn't he returned?"

"Mars, no matter how His Highness treats that Xia man, it's not something we can interfere with. His Highness has been in a bad mood lately, and old Bourne is still sleeping in his coffin! You haven't forgotten, have you?" Oakes quickly stopped Mars, who was eager to go ashore to track Qin Mo.

"I just want to help His Highness catch that brat as soon as possible, and then get out of here quickly. How can there be such a damned place in the world!" Mars felt a chill run down his spine when he thought of old Bourne's fate, and quickly said that he just didn't like this place.

Oakes glanced at Mars, then fell silent, staring intently at the distant mountains.

They finally spotted Isabel around noon. She floated slowly across the long beach under the blazing sun and landed on the deck of the "Crimson Rose." The scorching midday sun seemed to have no effect on her whatsoever.

"Your Highness, your loyal servant welcomes your return!"

The dozen or so powerful vampires on the ship immediately lined up in the spacious cabin to extend their heartfelt welcome to Isabel.

Isabel sat down in her tall chair and remained silent.

All the vampires sensed the change in Isabel's aura. Previously, Isabel gave off a cold, powerful, and ruthless feeling, but now her aura had disappeared from everyone's perception. If she hadn't been sitting right in front of them, all the vampires would have thought she didn't exist.

More importantly, Isabel has become younger, not in the superficial way that vampires appear after falling into a deep sleep, but as vibrant and energetic as a real vampire girl.

Isabel paid no attention to her subordinates' furtive glances and speculations. After a long silence, she coldly ordered, "Amanda!"

A blonde, blue-eyed vampire girl exuding a wild aura stepped forward from the middle of the group and respectfully said, "Mother, what are your orders?"

"You stay here, wait for someone, and then... follow him for twenty years!"

"Is it that Great Xia person? Mother!"

"Um!"

“Amanda understands! Mother!” The girl named Amanda had no questions or objections, but simply obeyed Isabel’s orders.

Isabel's fingers tapped softly on the armrest of the chair again.

“Amanda, take Bourne with you and tell that… Prince Qin Mo that I have agreed to his proposal to jointly establish a watchmaking workshop.”

"Yes, Mother!"
