Chapter 412 Wang Yushi's Difficulties

Because of Wang Yushi, the Xu family was highly favored within their clan, and the clan leader entrusted the family's foundation, the city of Suyab, to the Xu family for management.

Suyab City is strategically located in the Western Regions, a place of social unrest and complex ethnic groups. Although the Great Xia Dynasty maintains a large military presence in Parthia, it is primarily for defense against the orcs; they would never interfere in the conflicts between the various powerful clans of the Western Regions. The Xu family's decision to hand over Suyab City to the Xu clan may well have been motivated by a desire to leverage Wang Yushi's power to suppress other powerful figures in the Western Regions.

Xu knew that Wang Yushi had had a very difficult life from childhood to adulthood, so even when things were tough, she never made any demands on Wang Yushi. It wasn't until these past few years, when Wang Yushi became successful thanks to Qin Mo and provided her mother with a large amount of money and military equipment, that Xu managed to unify the hundreds of miles around Suyab City under her control and establish a firm foothold.

“A few days ago, Her Majesty’s birth mother suddenly wrote to inquire, saying that the Western Regions countries are all restless and that a large number of scouts of unknown origin have appeared around Suyab City. Is there some misunderstanding between the court and the Western Regions countries that is about to start a conflict?”

"You mean... this cannon was bought for your master's birth mother?" Qin Mo finally caught a clue, and he also vaguely guessed why the Western Regions kingdoms were so eager to make a move.

"After receiving the letter, Her Majesty sat up all night. Then she dispatched a royal infantry regiment to escort military supplies to Parthia in the Western Regions. However, His Majesty intercepted it, saying that the royal infantry regiment was a vital asset of the royal family and would never be moved by outsiders."

"The cannons produced by the Royal Workshops are simply not enough to fill the hole in the Central Army Headquarters. They send people there to keep an eye on things every day. The Empress only dispatched thirty cannons, and they went to His Majesty to complain."

"The entire Royal Guard and Royal Workshops were established by Her Majesty, and every tael of silver spent was earned by Her Majesty, yet..."

As Qing Ning spoke, her eyes reddened, but she couldn't directly curse Emperor Zhaowu. Cursing Qin Mo would only result in being kicked out of the mansion, but cursing the emperor could mean death.

"Have you received news of the orcs' invasion of the Western Regions?"

How did you know?

Qing Ning looked at Qin Mo in surprise. She had always thought that this news was being kept under tight control within a very small circle, but she never expected that Qin Mo knew about it.

Qin Mo knew, of course, that the information Da Xia received came from the Holy Temple. And what was his relationship with Heatherine? He had known for a long time that the orcs had shifted their strategic focus of attack to Central and Western Asia.

"Has an orc army appeared around Suyab City?"

"Not yet, but the garrison in the Western Regions sent elite scouts to conduct in-depth reconnaissance and discovered traces of an elite orc squad." At this point, Qing Ning stopped hiding anything and began to tell the truth.

Qin Mo nodded. When Heather told him that the orcs had begun to reinforce their troops east of the Black Sea, he knew that the Western Regions would inevitably be affected as well. He just didn't know whether the orcs would launch a strong attack or the Rakshasa would launch a feint.

In retrospect, this may be the least harmful approach to the Great Xia. The orcs and Rakshasa only instigated and supported the small vassal states of the Western Regions to cut off the Silk Road, and then focused their efforts on dealing with the Western Continent Temple.

"I'll send you a hundred cannons. Since Da Yuan is short-handed, send ten artillery instructors! As for the rest of the personnel, you can find a way to get them. Then, under the name of the 'Da Yuan Volunteer Army,' head to Suyab City to help Lord Xu quell the rebellion. As for any trouble along the way, your master should be able to handle it, right?"

Qing Ning was completely bewildered as she listened, her mouth agape. She couldn't understand why the infuriating Prince Heng had just given her a hundred cannons—a hundred cannons! The Imperial Workshops couldn't even produce them in months.

"Does this Prince Heng really enjoy throwing money around?"
