Kaihime is now the backbone of Fusang, and nothing can go wrong with her. If you ask what could go wrong? Just look at those lecherous eyes around her. Having embarked on the path of cultivation, Kaihime has become even more spirited and captivating, nourished by vital energy. It's inevitable that some lecherous individuals will cause trouble, after all, she is from Fusang. Although the Daimyo army is already a formidable force, it's best to avoid trouble while Qin Mo is away.
The city gates finally opened, and a group of nobles rushed out of the city in a chaotic frenzy, fearing they would fall behind and have their military merits stolen. Qin Mo scoffed at their behavior. Although the orc tribes gathered in the south didn't have any orc powerhouses at the level of "Shadow King," since they had gathered there, there must be someone leading and commanding them. They would have their own rules for setting up camp, and scouts and reconnaissance riders would be indispensable. What opportunities could a large group of people find by going there in a chaotic mass?
Qin Mo had already planned it out: he would leave the city, circle around, head north, cross the frozen Segeleng River, and head straight for the place where Su Wu herded sheep—the North Sea. There, he would search for the orc tribes that had come to reinforce him, kill a few generals, and that would be his mission accomplished. Of course, encountering a lone warlord was also an option.
Because there was only one sled, and it needed to carry too much stuff, Qin Mo didn't luxuriously convert it into a campervan. As the howling north wind blew, he could only wrap himself tightly in his fur coat and put on a snow-white hooded cloak. Instantly, the white sled and the white figure disappeared without a trace into the vast snowfield.
For several days, Qin Mo enjoyed the pleasure of driving a dog sled. He had traveled hundreds of miles north and was less than three hundred miles from the city of Ulan-Ude. From now on, he would enter the territory of the orcs. Every ten miles or so, he would use his binoculars to scan the surroundings, looking for possible prey.
Unfortunately, they didn't find any trace of the orcs, nor even a single Rakshasa. It seems Zhao Qirui slaughtered them too ruthlessly; they're terrified and hiding in the city, too afraid to come out. As for the villages in the wilderness, Qin Mo lost interest after exploring a few. How could they possibly support powerful orc warriors when they were so poor they could barely afford a single meal?
When we were more than a hundred miles away from Ulan-Ude, the sky darkened again, with thick clouds gathering and a heavy atmosphere brewing for snow.
Qin Mo had been traveling for nearly ten days straight. Although two groups of huskies had taken turns pulling the sled, he was exhausted. Seeing that a heavy snowfall was inevitable, he planned to find a village to rest in, or at least a sheltered spot. He certainly didn't want to sleep in a tent in the vast wilderness, only to be buried several meters in snow after a sudden downpour.
Taking advantage of the early hour and the light filtering through the clouds, Qin Mo raised his binoculars and strained his eyes to examine the area carefully. He finally discovered a place in the northwest that was different from the others. He spurred his sled and sped towards that spot, arriving in Linfang just before nightfall.
This was a dilapidated village, or perhaps a settlement, clearly uninhabited. There were only four or five houses in the village, most of them collapsed, with only the largest wooden house standing alone. Qin Mo was overjoyed and headed straight for the large wooden house.
The sled made a graceful turn from behind the house to the front, and an old horse-drawn carriage came into Qin Mo's view.
"Holy crap... Stop... Stop right now!" Qin Mo quickly braked and pulled the dog back. The sled almost crashed into the familiar carriage. A figure flashed out of the carriage, a pair of phoenix eyes staring coldly at Qin Mo.
Qin Mo felt incredibly awkward... She managed to raise her hand and say hello, "Sorry... it's been a long time."
