Chapter Thirty-Three: Rare Weapons

Chapter Thirty-Three: Rare Weapons

"Qin Mo, if you really want to find some good stuff, then these are the only shops you can go in and have a look?" When they arrived at a shop, Qin Yuanze pulled Qin Mo, who was lost in thought, and pointed it out to him.

Qin Mo glanced at the sign and saw that her best friend was pointing to a rather large shop. The signboard at the entrance featured a rose and some Latin letters, but unfortunately, Qin Mo only knew a little English in her previous life. Now, in Western Continent, speaking English was tantamount to admitting you were a bumpkin.

Pushing open the door, two young men stood to one side, impeccably dressed in tailcoats and bow ties, their hair styled in perfect neatness, their skin pale and their features handsome. Upon seeing the guest, one of the men approached, a standard smile spreading across his face.

What would our distinguished guest like to buy?

"I'm just browsing. Do you have any rare-grade weapons or armor?" Qin Mo asked, looking at the dozen or so shelves in front of her. Judging from the shop's setup, it must have an extraordinary background.

"What kind of rare weapons and armor does our esteemed guest require?" the waiter asked politely but firmly, his standard smile and questioning neither offensive nor unsettling.

"Those that are actually for combat and are just for show are out of the question." After wandering around for most of the night, Qin Mo had figured it out. Most of the so-called rare weapons on Xizhou Street were focused on decorative effects, and most of the magic arrays were just for showing off. They were all overpriced. Qin Mo was naturally not going to be a sucker.

"Please wait a moment, esteemed guest, the shopkeeper will be here shortly." The waiter glanced at the patterns on Qin Mo's cuffs and turned to go into the inner room of the mausoleum shop.

Bored, Qin Mo casually browsed the shelves, occasionally picking up weapons to examine them. It had to be said that this shop's goods were quite practical; the engraved magic arrays were all rather useful, such as those for sharpness and speed enhancement.

A heavy, double-edged battle axe caught Qin Mo's attention. He placed it on a special shelf, which was filled with broken weapons, chipped longswords, and tattered armor. This double-edged battle axe had a large gash in it.

The battle axe was entirely black, with intricate and flowing dark patterns. Qin Mo examined it closely and was surprised to find three magic arrays engraved on it. It's important to know that magic arrays can interfere with each other if not properly coordinated. Engraving multiple magic arrays on a single weapon requires more than just skill; it demands an extremely high level of knowledge of runes. The price of a weapon increases dozens of times with each additional magic array. A weapon with three magic arrays is already considered epic-grade.

Qin Mo reached for the battle axe, but couldn't lift it at first; it was unexpectedly heavy. He had to try a second time to finally lift it. He then tried to infuse it with his vital energy, and the process was surprisingly smooth, far exceeding Qin Mo's expectations.

The compatibility between the magic circle and the vital energy indicates the maker's skill level. Master-level works can perfectly accept the user's vital energy, making the weapon almost an extension of the user's body. This battle axe, judging solely from its compatibility with vital energy, clearly exceeds the realm of master-level, even surpassing Allen's "Evening Moon" by several points.

As the vital energy flowed in, Qin Mo's mind reached deep into the battle axe, revealing its internal structure clearly. One of the three magic arrays on the battle axe was inactive, likely due to a large, damaged hole. The other two intact arrays were a combination of sharpness and sturdiness, and surprisingly, they were "weighted." With the infusion of vital energy, the double-edged battle axe grew increasingly heavier.

Qin Mo dispersed the injected energy and tested the weight of the double-edged battle axe. He felt that without using energy to increase his arm strength, he could only barely swing it. If he wanted to use complex combat techniques, he would have to circulate energy throughout his body to increase his strength.

Qin Mo knew his own strength. Ever since the black flames transformed into Nirvana Flames at sea near Hanyang, his body had been constantly strengthened by the black light emanating from the Nirvana Flames. His physical strength and power were now many times greater than before. For a time, he had to be very careful when walking and dressing, otherwise he would bump into walls and tear his clothes. And now this battle axe felt heavy to him, so it must weigh at least over three hundred pounds. An axe that heavy was impossible for an ordinary person to use; no wonder it was thrown into this pile of junk.

"Distinguished guest, your rare weapon is ready. Please follow me." Qin Mo was still testing the broken axe when the waiter came over and indicated that the weapon he requested was ready.

Qin Mo followed the waiter to a table in a corner of the mausoleum. A middle-aged man from Xizhou stood behind the table, his elaborate formal attire highlighting his special status. Qin Mo was unfamiliar with the aristocratic system of Xizhou and could not tell what his title was.

"Your Highness, it is a pleasure for Hoss of the Carlos family to serve you." The middle-aged man from the Western Continent bowed slightly to Qin Mo, his hand on his chest.

"Baron Hoss, we meet again. Bring out all the good stuff you have this time, don't hold back!" Qin Yuanze seemed to know Hoss very well, and greeted him with a smile.

"Your Highness is smiling. With such an honored guest, we would naturally not dare to hold back." Huo Si first bowed to Qin Mo before exchanging pleasantries with his acquaintance Qin Yuanze. He was clearly a sharp-eyed fellow who could tell who among the three present held the highest status.

Qin Mo ignored them and looked directly at the two boxes on the table. Polite words were useless; she was there to spend money, and if the goods weren't good, even familiarity wouldn't matter.

"Your Highness, these two weapons are masterpieces of the Carlos family. As for their secrets, you can try them out for yourself."

Qin Mo picked up the first weapon, a longsword. Even the scabbard was covered with carvings, and the hilt had fine patterns that were both beautiful and prevented slipping due to sweat. As she drew the sword, a pool of autumn water was reflected in her eyes, the delicate patterns rippling like waves on the surface.

There were two magic arrays on the sword. Qin Mo tried them out. One was the most common and practical one called "Sharpness". The other was actually a "Bewildering Light" magic array. After being injected with vital energy, it would emit a large burst of dazzling light. When activated suddenly in front of an enemy, it could temporarily blind the enemy, making them impossible to defend against.
