Chapter 261 The Power of Money
Qin Mo and Xi Ya arrived at Ujiya's farm and saw the Brahman warriors preparing to attack it. The hazy blue light emanating from them made them feel as if they had seen them before.
The leader of the local Yeli Zhu alliance, Laputa Walmart, wore a suit of golden armor and played a significant role in the battle against Shia, leaving Shia with two large black eyes.
However, judging from the appearance of these bronze-colored armors, they are far inferior to Laputa Walmart's armor.
Qin Mo glanced at the Brahman warriors who had stopped, estimated their strength, and nodded, saying, "Alright, you take on ten, and I'll take the rest."
Then the Brahmin warriors discovered that two figures had appeared before them without them noticing, and one of them, a beautiful woman, charged at them with bared teeth and claws.
Shia wasn't wearing her usual flashy elven armor; instead, her long, white dress flowed freely, making her look like a fairy riding the wind, instantly captivating the Brahmin warriors who had been practicing asceticism.
Shia's fist seemed to be covered with a layer of moisture, crystal clear and beautiful, but it was not pleasant to hit anyone.
After two Brahmin warriors were defeated by Shia, they realized that this was not a female bodhisattva, but a female demon. A dozen or so Brahmin warriors surrounded Shia and unleashed strange fist techniques.
Shia was furious when he saw this soft, curving punch. He had been humiliated by Laputa Walmart's punches in the past, and now that Laputa was using this technique again, Shia showed no mercy. He punched and kicked with his arm, and soon knocked down the ten Brahmin warriors.
"I'm done. The rest is yours, Qin Mo."
Qin Mo frowned as she looked at the remaining Brahman warriors standing there. Their strength was too weak, and it would be beneath her to bully them with her current cultivation level.
The Brahmin warriors were extremely determined. Even after most of them were defeated, they did not lose heart. The remaining warriors shone with a strong blue light, and even some blood-red color seeped into them. Their momentum and strength increased dramatically.
Seeing the several frenzied warriors charging towards him, Qin Mo had no choice but to move his foot. The frenzied warriors were overwhelmed by his elegant leg techniques and flew dozens of feet away, landing in front of Master Saga, vomiting blood.
Master Saga trembled uncontrollably. As a core member of the strongest superpower organization in Zhu, he naturally knew what Qin Mo's displayed strength meant. It was an unparalleled ability; at least in the land of Southern Zhu, no one could rival this person.
Just as Sakya Lama was hesitating about how to greet Qin Mo, Qin Mo suddenly appeared in front of him, startling him so much that he froze on the spot as if he had been frozen in place.
Why are you attacking my caravan?
Shia translated menacingly, "Why are you besieging our caravan? And why aren't you paying compensation?"
Saga snapped out of his daze, wanting to say something harsh but unable to bring himself to utter it, so he could only stammer, "How much compensation?"
"Qin Mo, they promised to pay compensation. How much should we ask them to pay?" Shia asked Qin Mo with a beaming smile.
Qin Mo glanced sideways and said, "What compensation? We don't need money, we want justice. Whoever killed our people will pay with their life."
Shia's expression changed, and she said fiercely, "We don't want money, we just want gems, and we want gems this big."
Shia's hands were fair and beautiful, but the egg-sized gem she gestured made Saga frown. The temple did have many treasures, but who had ever heard of a gem the size of an egg?
In the end, Saga agreed to find the gem for Shia, and only then, under the threat of the translator who was using someone else's power to intimidate him, did he leave with his dozen or so heavily armed Brahmin warriors.
"Your subordinate Liu Jin greets Your Highness!"
Liu Jin had been waiting by Qin Mo's side for a long time, and only after Saga left did he bow and pay his respects to Qin Mo.
"Hmm! How many of our men have been killed or wounded?"
"Your Highness, seventeen have died and more than thirty have been injured. Your subordinate is incompetent and begs for punishment!"
"No need for punishment, let's pack our things and leave."
Liu Jin asked, puzzled, "Your Highness, they've already been terrified of you, why should we leave?"
Qin Mo said calmly, "Kalicat and Kochi are very close to each other. We have few people, and we can only choose one of the two city-states as our central city. Kochi has already lost its chance to rise, and it's not worth wasting our time here."
Liu Jin didn't understand Qin Mo's meaning, but he still immediately told Ugiya to start packing and prepare to move to Calicut.
"Qin Mo, are we leaving now? That big monk hasn't gotten back the gems he gave me as compensation yet."
"...Are you blinded by the jewels? Isn't your whole box of jewels enough to show off?"
Shia pouted, her face full of displeasure. Each of her gems was different, some dazzling, some translucent, all kinds of them like stars of different colors.
There are so many stars in the sky, and I only have a few. How could I complain about having too many?
Seeing Xia's tantrum, Qin Mo said with a headache, "We'll come back eventually, and then we'll make them compensate you tenfold!" This made Xia's expression soften a little.
Qin Mo never expected that years later, when Kochin was completely won over by the high-ranking official, Shia still remembered his promise and eagerly came to reclaim the gem that should have belonged to her long ago, even though she was already incredibly wealthy by then.
Kochi and Calicut are only two days' sail apart. As two neighboring city-states, they did not form a mutually beneficial alliance, but instead regarded each other as their future territory, always ready to annex the other.
